Above the rest.. mostly
- Pros: Performance. No stuttering. Rated speeds are conservative (DiskMark22 exceeded rated speeds.. Seq Read 98M/s, Random Reads 97 at 512k, 16M/s at 4k.. Seq Writes 84M/s, Seq Writes 78 at 512k, 5M/s at 4k)
Overall Better then all non-slc drives except Intel.. but lower price and more capacity then Intel.
- Cons: Price
- Other Thoughts: Intel is still better, but at a price point that's high (even after the price drop to 399). I own pretty much all the other ssd (GSkill, OCZ, Runcore, Intel, Patriot) and I swapped out a Patriot 128GB SSD on my Gigabyte 912X for the corsair and immediately noticed a major difference..)
BTW all benchmarks were done using the same eSATA enclosure and QuadCore Intel processor running Highpoint RAID eSATA card (multiport capable).
High Quality, Consistent Performance, Ultra Low Power
- Pros: *Steady-state 90-100MB/s reads 70-90MB/s writes
*Ultra low power consumption *No stuttering at all *Samsung Controller (Not stuttering JMicron controller) *Installed both Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit with no issues *High-quality, robust brushed aluminum case (rebranded Samsung)
- Cons: *Poor performance on small file writes (like all current MLC SSDs except Intel)
*Lower *peak* read/write performance than multiple controller units (like G.Skill Titan)
- Other Thoughts: If you have a SATA I controller (150MB/s), this is the drive to get. Even if you have SATA II (300MB/s), this drive still delivers excellent, consistent througput (without bursty/stuttery writes like G.Skill Titan and other dual-JMicron controller drives). This drive is also perfect for laptops or any application where absolute lowest power consumption is a plus - .2 watts idle, .5w under full load!
Until 256GB Samsung MLC SSD comes out or Intel/Kingston cut their prices by at least 30%, this drive is by *far* the best product out there.

Best upgrade I ever made
- Pros: Running Windows 7 on a Dell XPS 1530 with this drive has made an incredible difference. Boots fast, no delays switching apps, compilation runs quite a bit faster, ...
My laptop is also lighter and runs cooler with this drive.
- Cons: None yet ...
- Other Thoughts: Clearly every laptop should come with one of these instead of a hard drive!
Not functional
- Pros: Small, lightweight, 128 gig. Potentially fast
- Cons: Could not get operating system to load, after trying for 2 days. There was no manual or instructions, and the information available for installing this product seems to only be on forums. It would be nice to have a single piece of paper with basic how-to instructions and a troubleshooting guide.
- Other Thoughts: Research seems to indicate that ssd drives suffer performance losses over time, and that there are major questions about longevity, formatting and performance.
Corsair CMFSSD-128GBG1D
- Pros: The drive has a very small form factor and is very light. Since it has no moving parts there is absolutely nothing to hear but fans, airflow, and audio. It is quite quick on boot up and in use. This SSD has absolutely no lag and is the best justification for spending money on this technology I have seen so far. It's not too expensive compared to the competition in the non-defense sector. THis drive uses next to nothing in 12v SATA as far as power is concerned. THats more power going to components that need it the most such as that/those big GPU(s) of yours.
- Cons: Sometimes the silence disconnects you from your machine in such a way that you think something is wrong. If something is wrong you cant tell because there are no noises to base you technical judgments off of.
- Other Thoughts: I bought the Corsair CMFSSD-128GBG1D in conjunction with Vista Ultimate 64. This type of setup is very nice because this SSD is much faster than a HDD.
