1 out of 5 eggsstay away

Pros: inexpensive ssd

Cons: jmicron controller causes studding just like others have reported. Google jmicron and studding and you'll see a bunch!

Other Thoughts: I tried all the tweeks i could find (removing indexing programs , removing cache on the browser , and even lowering the virtual memory) still studded.
I've just replaced with a SUPER TALENT UltraDrive ME FTM64GX25H and man what a difference !

2 out of 5 eggsFast but...

Pros: Its fast with one application at a time. Windows loads very fast compared to the raptor I had before it died :(, also applications load quickly .

Cons: Does not multitask very well at all. At first I thought it was my ram but tested with occt and memtest86 and it passed both test. Also tested the cpu and it passed as well. I google it to see if any other people had the same problem and they did. Had I know this I would of went for a raptor instead.

Other Thoughts: When I multitask the comp just gets stuck for about 20 sec and then it will work fine but then it will do it again, the problem happens randomly, one minute its fine then the other its not. Not happy with this purchase.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Low latency on synthetic benchmarks
No noise
Low power consumption

Cons: In actually starting up an application, such as World of Warcraft, it is slower than the 1.5TB drive in my other computer. So it definitely wasn't worth the $$$

Other Thoughts: Computer 1:
Windows Vista
1.5TB seagate
core 2 duo 2.4ghz
6gb ddr2-800
EVGA 680i
Geforce 8600GTS

Computer 2:
Windows 7 RC
64GB corsair
core i7 2.66ghz
12gb DDR3-1600
GeForce GTX 260

Manufacturer Response:

If you are concerned about the performance of this drive, please contact Technical Support. We'll be happy to assist you.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Absolutely amazing speed increase. Plug and play easy cheesy. Best upgrade for my computer yet (and I just upgraded everything).

Cons: Not really a con because small is better, but sucks mounting it in a standard case without a 2.5 slot.

5 out of 5 eggsEfficient and Fast

Pros: No moving parts, Fast, quiet, built in USB port, no heat,
list goes on and on.

Cons: price per gb

Other Thoughts: Installed this on a ASUS Eee pc net book 1002ha. Works like a dream, Windows 7 boots in 15 seconds!
This combined with 2gb corsair ddr2 667mhz ram and this sweet drive and you have a netbook that screams and is truely portable. Internet browsing is fast! I keep trying to listen for heads on a hard drive, got to get used to a silent pc.

5 out of 5 eggslegit

Pros: Got it running in raid0 and its pretty quick. Silent not really a problem with newer disk drives but absolutely non-existent in this drive. small, you can hide these nicely in your side panel with al the other unsightly things (well they look nice but i dont want them to block airflow)

Cons: In raid0 didt scale to 240 mb/s like i wanted but that was just askin to much.

Other Thoughts: 200 mb/s with an acces time of 0.2 ms :D and hey i didnt have to pay 180 only payed 150 a pop when i got em.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Fast, no moving parts. I mounted this in my truck and don't worry about mechanical parts wearing out. Low heat output.

Cons: Price, but that is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I put this in a new car pc I made for my 4 wheel drive truck. It boots XP in less than a minute and programs open instantly. This is my first SS drive but I ran HD Tune on it and while I cant' remember the results, it blew away my desktop hard drive. Also it showed up right away as a hard drive - I didn't have to set it up.

It works great running Roadrunner on XP. I love it in my truck. If you are building a car pc, this is the way to do it.

5 out of 5 eggsUtility and ROI

Pros: I purchased this to replace an IDE drive on an older computer (mini-tower) that is used for accounting. This is not a screaming Mimi, but a work-a-day computer that is used to run a business. I cloned the C: drive (XP pro) to the new SATA SSD using Ghost 9, unplugged the old drive and rebooted. Total time: 35 minutes. The performance boost was amazing. Rather than click and wait (or boot and wait), it's now click and work. Brilliant. Yes, the cost per gig is higher than a spinning platter, but the reduction of wait times over the next year more than makes up for the cost. Read and write performace is excellent, and of course the drive is completely silent. Excellent product so far, basically plug and play.

Cons: Mounting in a non-portable requires more parts.

Other Thoughts: If you launch many apps over the course of the day or reboot often, this is the way to go.
