Do not buy this drive
- Pros: There are no pros
- Cons: This drive is junk. Buy the normal Corsair, non-extreme series. It works perfectly.
I could give you a long explanation of how I bought this drive, returned it to Corsair. They admitted problems and changed it for their normal SSD which works perfectly.
- Other Thoughts: I repeat. Do not buy this drive.
Dead after 5 weeks - avoid!
- Pros: No moving parts
- Cons: Less reliable than regular hd
- Other Thoughts: Honestly, I didn't see a huge increase in performance. I love the idea os ssd, but for me, I'm staying away until the prices come down (*a lot*) and reliability issues have been solved. For me, this drive died after 5 weeks and this is totally unacceptable. Over on the Corsiar forums, these failure issues are showing up more and more.
Nothing against NewEgg, but if you buy this drive and it dies, the only peace of mind you have is a replacement. You're 100% out the money.
I don't trust my data on these drives, so I advise all to avoid them.
Great SSD Disc.
- Pros: I purchased three of these for my 3 laptops. I have mac 13-3" macBook, a 15" macBook Pro, and a Dell Studio XPS1640. All laptops were very much faster, especially the Dell. No stuttering, it has the Samsung Chip. I can't say enough good things about them.
- Cons: I wish the price would go down a little faster.
- Other Thoughts: T----ba has just come out with a 512 gb SSD. We're looking at a crossroad in technology.
