Replacing your hard disk with a Corsair Nova Series Solid State Drive (SSD) will revolutionize your computing experience. Games and applications load quicker, systems boot-up faster, run cooler and quieter. Lower power consumption will give notebooks/netbooks an extension to their battery life with the Nova Series.

Built on the Indilinx Barefoot controller, Corsair’s Nova Series deliver read speeds up to 270MB/s and write speeds up to 195MB/s, plus reliability and compatibility for your notebook, netbook, and desktop solid-state storage needs. Built-in 64MB of cache ensures smooth stutter-free operation for reliable performance. With storage capacities up to 128GB, a Nova Series model exists for your storage and performance needs.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSDs translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg Better Performance & Reliability Utilizing the Indilinx Barefoot controller and Intel fast performance MLC NAND flash memory, the Nova Series solid-state drives deliver incredible performance and reliability. The Nova Series V128 comes with a maximum sequential read speed of 270 MB/s and maximum sequential write speed of 195 MB/s. In addition, integrated onboard 64MB cache ensures smooth operations.
  • newegg TRIM Support The Corsair Nova Series SSDs offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
  • newegg Flexible use - 2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The Corsair Nova Series V128 is specifically designed for notebooks/netbooks coming in a 2.5-inch hard drive form factor. A 2.5" to 3.5" bracket is included for matching with 3.5” drive bay to extend the storage of your desktop computer.

1 out of 5 eggsdisk failure

Pros: This was my first SSD and it was definitely a heck of a lot faster than traditional disks.

Cons: My system has been randomly crashing about once a week. I finally narrowed it down to the SSD failing and going offline for some amount of time. It was hard to identify because it would come back after a power cycle and nothing looked wrong. Now I have to re-install because the disk has so many problems chkdsk can't fix it and windows backup won't run unless chkdsk runs.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, please contact our Tech Support and we'll be more than happy to assist you.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsX58 sata iii solution

Pros: Bought this from newegg september for a higher price but well worth it.
Ok forget about the ocz vertex 3 and the marvel sata. Use 2 of these drives in raid 0 on the intel sata and get amazing results.

Benefit 1 - 550 500 ATTO Benchmarks in raid 0. (I have proof)
Benefit 2 - 256 gb space

Cons: Not in stock. Please. I need 2 more of these.

Other Thoughts: Why are these so hard to find?

1 out of 5 eggsFail fest

Pros: The drive is pretty fast, thats for sure.

Cons: I sent a drive for RMA which failed within only a few months of light use. I included the brackets in the package when I returned the drive, and the returned refurbished drive did not include brackets.

Other Thoughts: It is very unfortunate that the equipment sold by Corsair is so poor that the RMA department is overwhelmed. I can only hope that the replacement drive that I have received will have a longer life than the first drive I had. I can say for sure that I will never purchase another SSD from Corsair regardless.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for your issues and for omitting the bracket. You should have been informced in the RMA process not to return your original brackets. Please contact Customer Service at the link below and we'll send you a set of the brackets.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Just as everyone says it is fast! It was worth it for me to run multiple VM's with ease. It took me only an hour an a half to set up an xp pro machine, windows server 2008 enterprise R2, Untangled firewall, and a Ubuntu 10.10. So it lives up to the speed although I moved one of the Vm's to my second HD on my laptop for issues of speed.

This thing came packaged better then some other SSD's I have seen so that definitely is a plus with poor shipping and not worrying about it getting damaged.

I got it for only $190 with free shipping simply could not beat that with any other product!

Cons: Its not larger lol
Don't need the bracket

1 out of 5 eggsStrike 2

Pros: I purchased one of these drives from Newegg on 4/4/10. Did a lot of research and this drive looked like the best deal. Plan was to rebuild an old P4 into a gamer only PC to buy some time before having to spend big money on a new PC. Thought was to reuse the SSD for the new build in the future. PC rebuilt first week in May. Ran great, hard to believe it was a P4 3ghz ht box with 4GB ram.

Cons: Ran great - for all of about five months of limited game use. Drive failed on a reboot last week in September. RMA'd it and bought a 500GB 7200rpm WD Black to replace it. Got the replacement drive and put it into my desk drawer until I got all the parts for my i7 980x build this past Friday. i7 build went smooth, no problems, insane speed Win7 Ultimate (64), w/ 24GB Ram, ASUS Rampage III mobo and two EVGA GeForce GTX 465 (Fermi) Superclocked cards (SLI) and this SSD as the system drive.
What a screamer, for exactly freakin’ three days until the SSD failed again on a reboot... Needless to say the second RMA has been requested and a 600GB Velociraptor is on its way to my house. Not a happy camper at all...

Other Thoughts: Purchased this drive for $330 in April 2010, worst PC investment I have ever made. Great performance but don't get too attached to it or the data you have on it for that matter.
For the money it should ship with a free external backup drive of equal size...
Next use will be limited to use for the page file…

5 out of 5 eggsThink Bugatti

Pros: Super fast, small, no heat, no noise, loaded Win7 64-bit O/S in just under 14 min!

Cons: VERY Sensitive, when fiddling with hard drive do NOT drop, bang, tap, or treat physically like a regular HDD. Information loss & recovery will be in your future. Definitely do not put in a laptop or Notebook.

Other Thoughts: Love it! sensitivity aside well worth the bones/scratch!
Like going from an Oldsmobile 88 to a Bugatti Veyron!.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 months of use

Pros: Lightning fast, super quiet.

Cons: Randomly started breaking the partition, and then 2 days later it wouldn't show up any longer even in the BIOS- totally dead.

Other Thoughts: It worked fantastic when it did work- and died without any notice what so ever other than breaking the partition (and needing to install Windows 7 + reformat) twice.

Terribly disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks very well.

Pros: Fast - as advertise or close to...

Cons: No SATA-III, features pretty basic and not the cheapest.

Other Thoughts: Got pretty good speed with IO bench under linux, windows vm runs very fast - pretty much like on real hardware (because of this SSD and core i3 virtualiazation support). I don't miss the noise and vibration HD that came with my Vostro 3300 made, that's for sure.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst SSD purchase

Pros: First SSD, the silence is so nice after replacing two first generation 36gb RAID0 Raptors that sounded like they were chewing gravel most of the time even when suspended on elastic cord (however, they were still awesome 24/7/365 since 2003). No complaints, if it runs well for three months, I'll buy a second one and RAID them I guess. 6.9 in Win7 Experience Index. Even came with a mounting bracket which was nice but not necessary, the lack of moving parts keeps it cool and means it can sit anywhere in a case even if that means just dangling from it's own power connector (not that I'm recommending that). Worked straight out of the box without any configuration and allowed Win7 fresh install without trouble or having to load special drivers. The speed is fantastic.

Cons: Hmm, normally I'm pretty critical but I don't have anything bad to say about this drive.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II X6 1060T
Radeon HD 6870
Corsair 128 GB SSD
2x2TB Samsung SpinPoint HDDs
8 GB Mushkin Silverline RAM
SeaSonic 560W PSU 80+Gold
Scythe Mugen II HSF
Modified LianLi PC-65 Case
