5 out of 5 eggsSecure and usable anywhere

Pros: encrypted data, use anywhere a USB stick can be used even with no computer present

Cons: a bit pricy compard to, say, Kingston Locker+ line, but those don't work except on a computer

Other Thoughts: I've used one of these 8G models for nearly 2 years. It has never ever failed to work anywhere I wanted to usb a USB drive, even on a non-computer device like a TV or picture frame. And for what I paid for 8G then you can now get 16G now.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as intended. No problems what so ever.

Cons: Only con is the rubber cap is easy to loose if you're not careful and I feel like the rubber loop that connects the USB drive to the ribbon necklace thing could easily rip if someone pulled it hard enough.

5 out of 5 eggsPadlock Saftey

Pros: Easy to use and set up
Works as advertised
Comes with a cool blue lanyard thing
Durable rubber shell
Keys and LEDs seem to be good quality

Cons: Pretty big compared to my other 8g stick.

Other Thoughts: Plugged it in and it works, holds data with more than normal security measures. The lanyard is nice and it comes with a female to male extender for tight spaces and such because this drive is wide.

4 out of 5 eggsLOVE THIS DRIVE

Pros: Everything can be hacked, but you have to really want whatever is on this drive to hack it. I believe that not only it is physically password protected but the data is encrypted. This thing is cool, press unlock put in the password and hit unlock again and it will stay unlocked. Once inserted once it will work but re locks after removal, so if you in an office environment and someone snatches your drive (rare occurance I would think) you would be protected. Data is overwritten for a password reset and it is also charged when inserted so the red and green key icons light up (cool). So far I have not heard of this drive being hacked and if it did, it would take time. I use it for PW storage and if it was missing all my PW's would be changed before this was cracked.

Cons: There are only 5 digits and they should explain this upon purchase but maybe they left this out for security reasons (someone looking up the drive to hack it). I am fine with 5 digits because I believe the battery would die (intentionally by corsair?) before you entered in all the codes to allow however many combinations 5 digits can make. This may or may not be a con because if someone is trying to input the PW they may be confused on how many digits actually exist. Nothing to hold the cap when inserted, so easy to loose. Luckily though Corsair will supply you with a new cap at no charge if I'm not mistaken. I always thought they could easily include a optional item like a small string (similar to fishing line) to secure the cap to a part of the drive to avoid losing.

Other Thoughts: I also bought their 32 GB vengeance, which I also love and their PSU and their memory and whatever bears the Corsair name, Corsair = Quality. Wheres the Padlock in USB 3.0?

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair Padlock 8 GB

Pros: This product has a easy to use security system. No software is required to install the product. Nice non-slip coating with lanyard.

Cons: I bought this product back in April from Newegg and it has now stopped working. I tried to load it from multiple computers with no success. I had to buy a professional recovery software to get my data back. I have been a fan of corsair products, this is the first time I have had a failure like this. I am very disappointed. If you buy this product, make sure you back it up frequently. Sent for RMA immediately.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: Easy to use, durable and works on any platform.

Cons: Limited capacity, no USB 3.0.

Other Thoughts: Although I haven't yet tried it, this product should work great for having an encrypted portable bootloader. Easy to use, platform independent, and very durable. Only available in 8 and 16 GB, would be nice to have larger 64 and 128 GB capacities available.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat drive

Pros: The pin pad is perfect
Very durable shell
No drivers to download and very user friendly
Works on my Mac and Windows

Cons: The cap isn't secure so if someone loses the cap and their drive busts, Newegg wont give a replacement drive so :/. Corsair could easily fix this.
Still, not enough to take off an egg

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent USB Drive

Pros: Very impact resistant. Does what it says on the tin. Easy to enter a password. No issues in operation. Survived a trip through the washer and dryer with no errors.

Cons: Light is blue. Cap is not attached. Slightly slower than non-encrypted flash drives, but this is to be expected and does not hinder the drive.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Small Drive/Key/Stick Storage Device Available!

Pros: Padlock v2 securely works with ANY USB storage-friendly device. It's not just limited to popular comptuers! It uses AES 256-bit "actual" encryption, so no additional encryption needed from OS-limiting encryption unlock procedures! And it's better than software-based-password USB drives that require you to enter the password on a PC where it can be stolen!

Best small USB storage device available in my opinion (There's large USB-attached storage hard drives that also offer key buttons.). It's more secure and a better alternative to IronKey because it doesn't depend on a computer or deal with keylogging threats. It's "the" ultimate secure USB device you can find! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I bought the Padlock v2 for the "ideal protection and compatibility" it offers. I've owned mine for a year and use it every couple of weeks. Sturdy, reliable, good speed, and never any passkey loss or file mysterious rename issues! Wish I knew about it when Padlock v1 came out in late 2007!

Cons: Hole in cap for short lanyard that attaches to USB drive would be nice. Wish it was thinner as I don't need as much "impact" protection. I wish it had an "IP" rating for environmental "Intrusion Prevention" against being submerged in water and rated for falling. And I wished it floated! :-)

Other Thoughts: Padlock v2 came out early 2010. 1) As with any storage device, you MUST keep it backed up! 2) Beware that when unlocked and plugged in as it stays unlocked as long as it gets power. Even if you reboot or log out of your PC, Padlock remains unlocked and accessible. It must not have power for >2min for it to auto-lock. If not taking it out of a device is a concern, make sure you have a long lanyard loop connected to it as a reminder to take it out! 3) A great feature/side-effect is that you can even unplug the drive from one PC and plug it into another device without re-entering the code and it will work, if you're quick enough (Upto 2min!). 4) Keypad keys can be used multiple times for your code. 5) You won't know you've entered the right code until you plug it in.
