1 out of 5 eggsDied a quiet death when I needed it most

Pros: Storage space was good - for a while

Cons: Went to "Write protect" in the middle of deleting files, now its a very expensive ROM device that's useless.

Other Thoughts: All that protective aluminum doesn't help if the electronics die.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Choice

Pros: Upgrade from a 16gb Voyager. Very fast read/write. Compatible with 3.0 which is a bonus.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Great construction and design. I am highly pleased.

2 out of 5 eggs2 Fails

Pros: Fast when they worked.

Cons: Two of these have failed for us with the flashing blue light of death. Since they contained confidential data and I can't erase them, I have no choice but to destroy them and toss the pieces in the trash. What a waste.

5 out of 5 eggsThis drive has been great!

Pros: This drive has been great!
I can't kill it, even with fire!

Cons: Bulky.
I wish the the outer casing was more durable.
After several years of torture it is one ugly duckling.

Other Thoughts: I've lost it in the snow, found it next spring.
Got ran over by a lawnmower.
Rolls around in the floorboard of a work truck.
But keeps on coming back for more.

1 out of 5 eggsunstable usb

Pros: good storage capacity

Cons: flashing blue light of death

Other Thoughts: i purchased because it is marketed as being durable. durability is only useful if it is also stable. i use this in my jeep for music. it lasted a couple of weeks in mild fall weather before it locked up. this is so common for this device that someone developed a utility that owners should keep on hand: IT1168 DtMPTool V1.68.1.0
be warned that this utility will erase all stored files. Install and run utility. then use “F3 Enum” to detect the GTR. now right click on device that shows up on list and select start.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing but not as sturdy as I would have hoped

Pros: Great looking and durable flash drive, plenty of space. Nice case also very fast as advertised. comes with extension usb which is very handy.

Cons: Bigger than expected, rattles in case which is very annoying, should have put the keyring clip on opposite end, Why the dog tag????! <--cool but very pointless. A little more pricey that most flash drive. but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: overall very nice flashdrive, love the 10 year warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsThe Tank Of Flash Drives

Pros: Good speed for transferring large files, extremely well built, and tough as they come for fragile tech things.

Cons: The only thing this drive hasn't got is the compactness (yes, I may have made that word up) that other flash drives have. It's about twice as long as the average drive with the case on.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly good while they last

Pros: Speed, but only while it lasts.

Cons: Most of the corsair high performance flash drives have failed on me within first 6 months and failed multiple times.

Other Thoughts: I have to be honest, this is the last time I have purchased corsair flash drive. I have purposely over paid for 2 of them and both failed multiple times within first 6 months.
Now, Corsair have put me in the situation where the model that I liked and paid extra money for has been discontinued and the upgraded one(gtr) is just HUGE and unusable for most of the people. The smaller sized CMFVYA32GBGT2, that they are offering me would probably satisfy my needs, but only if it is a standart lenth stick.
On the top of that I have paid way more money for my failed stick, than CMFVYA32GBGT2 that they are offering.

The situation is just upsetting, I think I will just sell this gtr off on e^ay and never get close to corsair sticsk ever again !

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Flash Drive

Pros: Great Flash Drive when purchased for its intended use. If you need extreme physical and environmental protection for your portable data, you can't go wrong with the Survivor. Withstands almost any reasonable stress you could encounter in both urban or rural settings.

Cons: Price may be a concern..but is not inappropriate for the additional benefits.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if the "technically challenged" refrained from submitting reviews. Folks that don't have a clue about what they really need and purchase inappropriate gear...subsequently doling out unnecessarily low ratings.

5 out of 5 eggsBuilt For Extremes And Very Fast

Pros: Very fast, and super great for transferring large files. I was able to transfer over 9gb (2,000 songs) of mp3 from iTunes in less than eight minutes. This flash drive is larger than the Voyager GTR 32gb. I find that this is a plus for me, as it is not likely that I will misplace where I sat it down, and I will never lose the screw on cap. Another reviewer gave this usb a average rating because the product was more than he bargained for and now has buyer regret. I do not think that this should have taken away from the overall rating of the product.

Cons: The size may be a problem for some, but the product is advertised as the Survivor, so it is built to the extreme to withstand extreme handling and conditions. I have not tested it by running over it with my truck, but I think the truck would get the worst end of it.

Other Thoughts: I do highly recommend this product, especially if you may be prone to losing usb's or are rough on your gear. I was in the Infantry for twenty years, so I am somewhat rough on my equipment. The Corsair Voyager GTR is also a very good buy, and it too will stand up to rough treatment, and is also very large by flash drive standards.
