Replacing your hard disk with a Corsair Nova Series Solid State Drive (SSD) will revolutionize your computing experience. Games and applications load quicker, systems boot-up faster, run cooler and quieter. Lower power consumption will give notebooks/netbooks an extension to their battery life with the Nova Series.

Built on the Indilinx Barefoot controller, Corsair’s Nova Series deliver read speeds up to 270MB/s and write speeds up to 195MB/s, plus reliability and compatibility for your notebook, netbook, and desktop solid-state storage needs. Built-in 64MB of cache ensures smooth stutter-free operation for reliable performance. With storage capacities up to 128GB, a Nova Series model exists for your storage and performance needs.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSDs translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg Better Performance & Reliability Utilizing the Indilinx Barefoot controller and Intel fast performance MLC NAND flash memory, the Nova Series solid-state drives deliver incredible performance and reliability. The Nova Series V32 comes with a maximum sequential read speed of 195 MB/s and maximum sequential write speed of 70 MB/s. In addition, integrated onboard 64MB cache ensures smooth operations.
  • newegg TRIM Support The Corsair Nova Series SSDs offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSDs memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
  • newegg Flexible use - 2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The Corsair Nova Series V32 is specifically designed for notebooks/netbooks coming in a 2.5-inch hard drive form factor. A 2.5" to 3.5" bracket is included for matching with 3.5” drive bay to extend the storage of your desktop computer.

3 out of 5 eggsDied right on schedule.

Pros: Did it's job without hiccups for a few years.

Cons: Died shortly after 3-year was up.

Other Thoughts: I ran this 24/7. This is not an enterprise drive, or "NAS" drive, and was never advertised as such. And still it performed it's job, for the stated time guarantee.

But I will say, the first one I got was dead within a week. It's the refurbished replacement that chugged along for a few years.

Overall, it was an "okay" drive.

1 out of 5 eggsNever buy corsair again

Pros: Speed is nice

Cons: I bought 6 of these. After 6 months - One no longer is seen by the BIOS. 2 have bad blocks all over the place. And another is dead slow. So 4 out of 6 are useless. I have verified this on several other computers.

Other Thoughts: I have similar issues with other corsair thumbdrive products, namely usb 3.0 drives. The hassle and loss of data is too much, so I will be filtering out any corsair products from this day forward when im in the market for new equipment again.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked well until it died

Pros: It was fast and quiet

Cons: It broke about 17 months down the line.

Other Thoughts: It was used for a video system. It'd fill up and then I'd dump it to a back-up. I guess the frequent cycling was too much and it died without warning.

2 out of 5 eggsgood while it lasted...

Pros: as my 1st SSD i thought it was a great upgrade over the other hard drives i had. it was fast, quick. right out the box.

Cons: however after a couple of monthys it started making this noise like it was trying to restart or something. i dunno, but my computer would pause while it was doing this noise. then after a few seconds it would stop. this went on until last night. now it's dead.

Other Thoughts: for my 1st ssd i liked it, but now that i see that i wasn't the only one having issues with this product. i don't think i'll buy another corsair ssd.

2 out of 5 eggsWas great

Pros: Was a decent SSD.

Cons: Died after a year and I just ate the cost. After 9 months it started coughing up a lot of SMART errors.

Other Thoughts: Flash based media has always been less reliable for me then hard drives.

Pros: Fast while it worked, great for speeding up the OS.

Cons: Blue Screen then system wouldn't POST with the drive installed, just put an RMA request in.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Was fast when it worked.

Cons: Took two days to get two of these to even be recognized and setup in a RAID 0 array on Windows 7 Ultimate 64.

When it finally worked, it only lasted about a month before one drive failed, and halts the post process. The drive that the Bios will still recognize will only show in bios, windows will not recognize it. Tried every method I could research to get it to work. I'm very disheartened with Corsair from the whole ordeal.

Other Thoughts: I purchased these back in January, so I doubt there is anything I can do but make a set of book ends out of the drives. I'll be very wary of buying from Corsair in the future.

Also, I noticed right off when I first put in these drives that it made an odd arching sound randomly. I saw no sign of actual arching, so I figured it was the technology, but now I wonder...

1 out of 5 eggsglad it's deactivated

Pros: none as it is small and slow. The size is my fault as I wanted to speed up OS loading cheaply. No luck there as it was big enough but no real world or benchmarked benefits.

Cons: I have bought many Corsair products over the years. The memory and the power supplies are great. This SSD is just awful. Slow from the start and just got slower. I'm going to try to rma it to Corsair. I spent about five hours trying to get working correctly but it still remains slower than a regular 7200 rpm Seagate drive.

Other Thoughts: Try another company for SSD.

Manufacturer Response:

You may simply have a bad drive. Let's try replacing it.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after 4 months

Pros: Very high random read/write IOPS and streaming read, as you'd expect from even an inexpensive SSD. Streaming write is about half that of reads, but still better than a 7.2k mech drive. WinXP boots in about 4 seconds. Miserly power consumption. Totally silent operation.

Cons: Died at 4 months. Took 3 weeks total to get an RMA replacement drive from Corsair, which has "REFURBISHED" printed on the drive label in large black print. I was without my PC for those 3 weeks as I have no spare drive. I'll be ordering a cheap mech drive to keep as a spare under the assumption that this refurb drive probably won't last long either. I sincerely hope the Corsair 3 year warranty actually lasts 3 years, and that they'll continue to replace each successive dead SSD until that 3 years is up. If it turns out the warranty is void after the first replacement I will never buy another Corsair product. I hope this drive lasts more than 3 years so I don't have to find out.

Other Thoughts: For some reason my original very positive review has been removed. Just as well I guess. I wrote that review after only a week of use and gave the product 5 eggs. Due to the failure after 4 months, and reading that many others have had their Nova32 die in about a year or less, I'm dropping that to 2 eggs. It really doesn't matter as Corsair has discontinued this Nova32 and Newegg has exhausted their stock.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed At 1.5 Years

Pros: Super fast, worked like a charm

Cons: Failed after about a year and a half!

Other Thoughts: No support, I'll never buy another corsair product again!

Manufacturer Response:

We're sorry you had a failure. Elecronics do fail occasionally which is why we offer a warranty. Your item is still covered so set an RMA.
