And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSD’s translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg Better Performance Built with MLC NAND flash and the latest generation SandForce SF1200 controller featuring award winning DuraClass Technology, the Corsair Force Series F60 SSD (CSSD-F60GB2-BRKT) delivers world-class SSD reliability, performance, and power efficiency, with maximum sequential read speed of 285 MB/s and maximum sequential write speed of 275 MB/s, plus incredible random 4K write performance of 50,000 IOPS (4K aligned).

Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command. 4 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive / Quesitonable Customer Service

Pros: +Fast: This was my first jump into the SSD world and it did not disappoint. Lightning fast boot times, instant loading of daily apps, this drive brought the speed.

+ Good Deal: Overall, I found this drive to to be the best combination of speed, size and overall cost. A rebate helped make the decision even easier.

Cons: + Customer Support: Just before the three year mark, the drive died on me. Due to it's size, it wasn't a huge deal as I didn't store any important data on it...just programs and the OS.

The initial customer support submission went smoothly and they quickly provided an RMA#. The drive was shipped to Corsair's HQ by USPS Priority Mail on 11/20/2013.

That's when the bad started.

At first, there was no response. I assumed a basic 3 - 5 working day window for RMA replacements despite Corsair's own Standard Replacement policy as stated below:

"Standard Replacement – Through Corsair’s Standard Replacement process, Corsair will issue an approved RMA number for the return and replacement of your defective product(s). Our Standard Replacement processing time from receipt of your product(s) to the replacement product(s) shipment is 1-3 business days plus transit time."

After 21 days and SIX follow-up messages with NO RESPONSE from the customer service team, I reverted to the dreaded support forums and made a plea for help!

Thankfully, I received a quick response from TECHNOBEARD who told me he'd get someone on it right away. And indeed, within a few hours I had a response to my ticket along with a promise of an upgrade for my replacement. The next day, I was pleased to see a UPS tracking number for my replacement along with the standard note of "The replacement has been processed and scheduled to be shipped within 1-2 business days."

That was 12/12/2013.

It's now been SIX business days and the tracking number still shows as "Ready for Processing". Again, I've had no response from the Corsair customer service team.

As of today, it'll be a MONTH since I shipped the bad drive and I still don't have my replacement.

Other Thoughts: Great drive. But the customer service gives me pause, as having to wait over a month for a replacement under warranty could and should be deal breaker for some.

5 out of 5 eggsup to 400MB/s in RAID 0

Pros: Fast for a SATA II drive. Get up to 400MB/s on HD Tune Pro when RAID 0 2x F60 drives. Very small and sleek, doesn't break a sweat. Stay cool

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought it as a refurb drive for $39.99 from Frie's Electronic. That was the best upgrade I had so far. Drives last me a little over a year and no problem. Up to 400MB/s when RAID 0 them, 250-350MB/s constant speed. -+ 0.4 sec seek time. Single drive benchmark does about 120-150MB/s on HD Tune Pro.

1 out of 5 eggswas fast while it worked

Pros: -fast
-fairly inexpensive

Cons: -would get stuck sometimes
-I can't 100% say it was this ssd but the system did shutdown unexpectedly a few times
-approximately 11 months after purchasing this the system froze and now the drive is not recognized by the two computers I've tried to use it with.

Other Thoughts: I had this drive in my laptop (dell m4400, win7 64) for a little under a year. I made sure to use it in AHCI mode, TRIM was on, got rid of recovery and caching... I wish i had known there are some firmware updates on the forums. I can't be sure it would have helped but it would have been nice to know they existed.

I'll try see if recovery is even possible since not all my data was backed up.

2 out of 5 eggsAlso failed after less than 30 days...

Pros: Price was nice. Newegg shipping rocked as usual.

Cons: Speeds mediocre at best if not using on SATA3 port. At least for as long as it worked.

I used the drive for maybe a cumulative total of 5 hours before it failed. Rebooted the laptop I installed it in (Dell Precision M4400) and it informed me there was no boot drive.

Tried pulling the drive and putting it in my external SATA2-to-ESATA bay. Also went unrecognized. Tried it in my main laptop, a Dell Precision M6600, also unrecognized.

Remember when Corsair used to mean quality?

Other Thoughts: Already put in for an RMA, but this is ridiculous. Last time I buy Corsair.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for 10 months

Pros: Was great for 10 months

Cons: Started getting some freezes last week followed by BSODs. Finally now it is no longer recognized. Will not show in another PC as well.

Other Thoughts: Submitted to corsair for rma. Disappointed and makes me look elsewhere for a more reliable SSD

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 9 months.

Pros: Fast. Light. Very little heat generation.

Cons: Bought one in mid March 2011 and it died in early Jan, nine months later. Didn't get a lot of warning, a couple bluescreens and a couple "not recognized by BIOS" that were fixed by a reboot. Now it's completely unrecognized by the BIOS. Changed the SATA cables and SATA port and put it in a different machine to no avail.

Good thing I have backups!

I'll probably buy a Crucial, Kingston or Intel next time. :(

Manufacturer Response:

We are very sorry you had this failure with your SSD. Please let us replace it.

3 out of 5 eggsJust ok SSD

Pros: -Faster than HDD
-Very sleek looking
-Have two running great on a RAID 0, about 6 months so far no problems

Cons: -Not exceptional performance out of these, even with two in a RAID 0 it benchmarks lower than some SATA III SSD's

Other Thoughts: I bought these just as the new SATA III's were hitting the market and I really should have waited(although Newegg provided a killer deal on them) to invest in some faster drives. They aren't bad but they are definitely not high performance.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Fast and very dependable in Lenovo r61. Have another brand SSD of same controller in desktop. This performs the same for about half of the price.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great- KEYWORD: "WORKED"

Pros: Worked well, decent seek times, fast boot and reboot.

Cons: Bricked after 6 months. Not recognized any longer by Bios. After reading up on Corsair drives (I'm a huge Corsair fan) I see this is a pretty common problem with the Force series. Have swapped ports, tried different mobo's, and cabled. Good thing I back up my data.

Other Thoughts: Have swapped ports, tried different mobo's, and SATA cables. Good thing I back up my data..

Manufacturer Response:

Please RMA the drive and we will be happy to replace it. We apologize for your inconvenience.
