The Corsair Force Series SSD product line offers maximum performance for your ultimate system with up to a maximum read speed of 285MB/s and write speed of 275MB/s. If speed is what you are looking for and what you expect from your performance or gaming system the Corsair Force Series SSD's are the perfect choice.

Based on the SandForce SF-1200 SSD Processor, the Corsair Force Series SSD's are the ultimate performance drive for your demanding storage requirements. Choose from the F40, F60, F80, F120, F160 or F240 drive for the highest performance and density. Your system will start-up faster, applications and games will load quicker and you will see a huge improvement in overall system responsiveness.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSD’s translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg Better Performance Built with MLC NAND flash and the latest generation SandForce SF1200 controller featuring award winning DuraClass Technology, the Corsair Force Series F40 SSD (CSSD-F40GB2) delivers world-class SSD reliability, performance, and power efficiency, with maximum sequential read speed of 280 MB/s and maximum sequential write speed of 270 MB/s, plus incredible random 4K write performance of 50,000 IOPS (4K aligned).
  • newegg TRIM Support The Corsair Force Series SSD’s offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command. 1 out of 5 eggsBad, bad, bad

Pros: I know this is no longer carried at Newegg, but if you are searching the Internet looking for information about purchasing one from a different dealer, etc. DON'T!

Only pro was its initial speed.

Cons: Drive one: Last about 13 months.
Replaced by a Refurbished drive (thanks for nothing, Corsair) It lasted 8 months.
Replacement replaced by another Refurbed drive. It lasted 7 months.

Other Thoughts: Going to the recycling center. I can't do a 4th drive. Fool me once......

2 out of 5 eggsGreat value, bad quality

Pros: Great speed for the price.

Cons: First drive lasted 16 months.
Second drive lasted 3 months.
Third drive just threw a SMART error after 4 days.
At this point, I have to recycle it because it cannot be trusted.

5 out of 5 eggsupgrade from 7200 rpm big difference

Pros: Boot speed went from 60-seconds to 10 seconds with this ssd. Its also alot lighter then most drives. If people are worried about memory size just get an external drive and also spindle drives have a higher rate of crashing too.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: cant wait to use the sata-6 with corsairs new lineup

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Super Silly Fast! Low wattage consumption.

Cons: A little expensive still...

Other Thoughts: This will give your old single core and lower GHz processors new life. Using two of these in my network at home. One is on a sempron thats almost 8 years old and another on a new APU Zacate HTPC setup. Stellar. Cold boots HTPC in ~12 secs. Makes things snappy.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Reallocated Sector Count

Pros: Sandforce Controller, It works

Cons: Bad Reallocated Sector Count, Rated speed unmet

Other Thoughts: Bought it when it first came out since it came with a rebate. It seems that my ssd has an issue when I started doing some test. I did multiple benchmarks and almost all software I used show Reallocated Sector Count with a warning highlight/mini caution icon beside it.
Average transfer rate is 132Mb/s. I have done every procedures on setting up an ssd like activate AHCI in bios before os install, disabled defrag, hybernation, reduced page file, and only have the os on the ssd and other files on my hdd.

No more Corsair ssd and/or other products for me...

1 out of 5 eggsTrash! Prepare for BSODs

Pros: fast boots

Cons: DO NOT PURCHASE if you plan on using in a system that you want to S3 sleep/standby. Your machine will crash on resume. There are a few users that have not experienced this issue but if you check the corsair forums, you'll see it's littered with complaints because corsair has left their customers up a creek...

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend purchasing any product from a manufacturer that doesn't back their mistakes. I bought a samsung to replace this and "miraculously" it works as expected!

Manufacturer Response:

Firmware revisions have corrected this issue for a vast majority of our users. Anyone still experiencing issues should contact our Technical Support using the link below. We apologize for any incovenience.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Boot Drive

Pros: Superfast. Boot time for me is 14 sec for windows 7 ultimate. Easy to install.

Cons: None really as I knew it had no rails. I just got creative in the way I mounted it to overcome this. works great

Other Thoughts: Great Drive for a boot and swapp file.

5 out of 5 eggsNICE

Pros: very fast, obviously! I like to think the F40 name was given in relation to the F40 Ferrari for speed :P

Cons: no mounting kits or screws.

Other Thoughts: the case i used this in didnt have anyway to mount a 2.5" drive so i just lined it up to the side of the 3.5" drive bays for floppy and put two screws in. the drive is so light that the weight no supported on the other side will never have a negative impact from hanging free.

5 out of 5 eggsFAAAST!

Pros: Boots windows 7 64 bit in 33 seconds. Thats cold boot. From nothing to desktop.
Perfect size for a basic OS install and programs, with a few gigs to spare.

Cons: Did not include 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch bracket.

Other Thoughts: I emailed Corsair and they sent me a bracket for free!! A++ service!
