1 out of 5 eggsFaulty Memory Out of the Box

Pros: Their return process appears to be easy to use. We will see if the refund process works as smoothly.

Cons: I am not one to write online reviews about products, either positive or negative. In fact, this is the first time I have ever written a product review. However, my experience with this product has been so negative, I felt compelled to share it.

Several of my friends had spoken highly of the benefit of building a computer and I decided to take their advice. Rather than purchasing a pre-built machine from a big box store or a large retailer, I ordered the parts and put my new computer together. Immediately after getting everything up and running, I started getting the BSOD, over, and over, and over... Thinking I had installed some drivers wrong, I restored my system to immediately after the operating system was installed and tried again. Same problem.

Having exhausted my knowledge of software and computers, I took the computer to our work IT guy who quickly determined that the one of the memory sticks was the culprit. He removed the faulty memory stick and I returned it to Corsair via their RMA process. The computer worked well for several hours until I just recently had another BSOD. I have no doubt this was once again caused by a memory issue.

I have already ordered memory manufactured by another company and will promptly be returning this memory for a full refund. I would not recommend this product to anyone and would dissuade anyone from purchasing it, at least until Corsair decides to test their product before shipping it to unsuspecting customers.

While I have been completely dissatisfied with the memory I received, I have not had any problems with the power supply manufactured by Corsair I purchased and would recommend that product to others.

Other Thoughts: This memory has soured the entire experience of my first computer build.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: No pros as the item did not work out of the box.

Cons: This RAM connected to my motherboard normally and booted fine, but under any type of graphical load, the program would lock and shut itself down. Windows memory tests confirmed it was a RAM problem, and further tests turned out fine once I replaced the RAM with a different stick. You would think that the manufacturer would test their products before they went out the door...

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair is Junk

Pros: None

Cons: Bar Units

Other Thoughts: The Units are Junk why are these Bad? Does Corsair not test these before going out the door? I cannot believe how many people are saying they have DOA Sticks and Newegg is still selling them in Kits which you have to return the whole kit, what a joke.

1 out of 5 eggswhat happened to Corsair quality?

Pros: Nice heatsink

Cons: Failed straight out of the box

Other Thoughts: I received this memory as a gift along with some other parts to build a new computer. I saw the name CORSAIR, and thought sweet! Some good memory. It was a sad day when it failed Memtest with more errors than I have ever seen.

I have bought another stick from another brand, and will be getting this one replaced, but I will probably just sell it to somebody else as I have lost faith in Corsair.

3 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: 4 gigs, one stick. Good price.

Cons: The stick that reached me was dead on arrival.

Other Thoughts: Because I wanted the rebate, I detached the UPC from the package. Learning that Newegg refuses to replace a product without the UPC, I had to RMA through Corsair.

Not really a con because their RMA process is similar to Newegg.

2 out of 5 eggsWOW how bad

Pros: worked like a bat out of hell when I first got them

Cons: one died after 3 months of BSOD errors with not luck in finding why until the one stick died all together and now I don't have any BSOD

Other Thoughts: wish I had known so that I could of tried to get other sticks like Kingston which have NEVER given me problems. this is the first stick to have ever died on me and I maintain around 100 computers

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsvery good trick

Pros: 2 WORKED. Have not noticed any issues with these. seem to be running smooth.

Cons: purchased the memory as part of a kit. at first i though i had a bad board or a bios update issue because the o.s. would go into a boot loop every time i installed updates. after alot of looking into, i decided to swap out the memory after shutting down during the boot loop. the machine immediately booted correctly. i shut down, put the suspect memory back in and the boot loop started again. i took out the suspect memory again and put the back in and boot was normal - the memory module would work until i began installing updates and other software. must have a bad chip is my thinking. i tried running memory diagnostics but kept returning to boot loop and was never able to see results. luckily i had the exact same memory in 2 other machines. i have never seen this before and i have built alot of machines. i hope this could help diagnose other issues reported.

Other Thoughts: in order to do an RMA you have to return the entire kit - i am at a point where i cannot return because i have an install in a couple of days. VERY GOOD TRICK not to allow one item to be returned for kit purchases. i hope the other 2 modules do not do this in the future. i dont want to loose anymore money. i am on my way to altex to purchase some memory so i can complete the job.
