Isolated to RAM after running memtest86, showing multiple errors in dual-channel mode. Corsair granted RMA. I understand this can happen, but here's my gripe; I requested Corsair pre-ship the RAM, as I couldn't afford the down time (single stick worked in single-channel mode), however, they would not. I would gladly pay a deposit, whatever to avoid down time. Now I'm paying out of pocket to ship the bad RAM to Corsair, plus my computer is down for 2 weeks while I wait for a replacement. I'll just say it's great, great stuff. It'll run any game, any program you want, no problem (in my case, lots of StarCraft 2 and Minecraft). I just bought another 8GB of this for a total of 16GB in my current rig, as I want to get more into image manipulation and processing. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: First batch that came in ran well enough. When I started having issues with my video card, I ran memtest86 on the RAM to make sure it wasn't causing the problem. Turns out that first batch was bad (throwing hundreds of thousands of errors in memtest86) and I had to RMA. it Fortunately, Corsair was amazing about it and they sent a second batch that was perfect. Cons: not really a con, but i upgraded from 1333mghz 8gb, and im not noticing any difference (got 2 for 16gb when i bought these), but maybe i just dont notice the difference or maybe im checking the wrong places for differences. Other Thoughts: ever since i installed them my computer will randomly beep like an error had accord, still investigating if its a ram or mother board issue, leaning towards motherboard due to the ram working fine on high intense games and i only get the beep when im browsing the net (like imgur and such) or course it could just be a ram leak for the flash plugin for fire fox but meh, ill update if i find the cause of it 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. This stuff runs fast and stays cool, the heat spreaders are surprisingly effective and look good as well. Memtest 86 reports a raw transfer speed of over 18 gigs/sec under XMP 1 (the memories rated speed), more than fast enough for my needs. Corsair always makes good quality stuff. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: Make sure to set XMP 1 on your motherboard to get these to their rated speed of 1600 mhz. I read some reviews about the heat spreaders falling off, but all 6 of my modules are going strong still. Perhaps people got a bad batch or are running in very overheated enclosures and melting the adhesive. The heat spreaders are secured on the sides by little metal tabs and held together so not quite sure how they would fall off to begin with. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you?
