2 out of 5 eggsfast but seems to be unstable

Pros: fast , small, and quiet just like an ssd should be

Cons: unstable

Other Thoughts: been using the 64 GB version for over a year now and have had to reinstall W7 OS a couple of times. it seems like the issue starts when the computer goes to sleep or from shutting down then something happens to the boot sector of the drive, which i tried to fix but to no avail (my expectations here were low as i am a real architect and a pretend IT geek). before the drive completely disappeared from the radar during boot up it would kind of start... lag... then allow me to log in to windows. very strange. anyway, it has been running fine for a few months now b/c i do not allow the computer to sleep and very rarely shut it down... only restart. that seems to work.

so i just bought a samsung 840 pro 256 GB which i know will be tremendous but we will see. buy that and not this... come to think of it, this drive isn't even available anymore so now i'm wondering why i'm even writing this...

3 out of 5 eggsOK while it lasted

Pros: drive was fast, but I wasn't pushing it at all. I had it in a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 BIT, i7 processor, 6BG corsair Dominator RAM rig and it was very good with all the small stuff I do on a home PC. A little video editing, which was much faster on this drive. All good, but it only lasted a year and a half.

Cons: Completely lost it when the sleep button on my keyboard was pressed. I never would have imgained that sleep would take out a hard drive. But I put it into something else and hit sleep (for just that drive) and it took out that PC as well. I had it connected via a USB drive port, and when I put it to sleep it crashed the host machine.

Other Thoughts: Spend more money and get a better drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive, a bit small for Win7 64-bit

Pros: - FAST. Will definitely get you top scores on drive-reader benchmarks and the Windows performance rating.

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: I installed Windows 7 64-bit, my usual programs and a couple games and was already pushing 40GB used on this drive. Even with all my media on a secondary 2TB HDD, I immediately got the feeling I would run out of space on this drive after a year or two of normal use. Keep that in mind if you plan on using this size SSD as the boot volume.

5 out of 5 eggsPhenomenal

Pros: The performance doesn't degrade no matter how many benchmarks you run. Ive been benchming this drive like crazy since day one because I became paranoid and was under the impression that maybe this SSD will begin to lose performance over time but nope, benchmarks are still identical to day 1.

It is extremely fast. I use it with an EVGA X58 FTW3 board's SATA III. The read and write speeds are exactly as advertised ~360MB/s and ~110MB/s

It is silent and stays cool. I guess this would matter if you are using this with a laptop but for me it doesnt matter much. But its always good to have one less component in the case generating much heat.

Cons: Games dont really benefit much from an SSD...any SSD in general.

So yea for this particular drive, no complaints whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: Ive had this drive since the very beginning of February and it is now September and I have not lost a drop of performance. My read and write speeds are still identical to day 1.

Rates 7.6 in Windows Experience Index

This drive is much more reliable than the new Force 3 and Force GT series. Just head over to the Corsair forum and see for yourself.

Im planning to purchase another one very soon, perhaps the 128GB version.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNo Issues

Pros: Fast -- Windows 7 boots very quickly and all the applications are very responsive.

Cons: Wish I waited just a little bit longer to purchase and I could have gotten a new Force GT for the same price.

Other Thoughts: Be mindful of how much space you are using if this is to be an OS drive. I turned off my page file since I have 16GB of RAM and didn't care about having recovery information if the system crashed. Windows 7 had defaulted to using a 16GB page file, so that was a huge space saver.

4 out of 5 eggsCorsair Performance 3 SSD Very Decent Choice

Pros: Well the Drive is Pretty fast! when i tested it In AHCI Mode from the get go i get about 350mb/s Read time. Little slower then advertised not sure why. Haven't benched it using AS SSD since that bench. In my Windows experience index it rates it a 7.7 out of the gate. then i rested the next two days got a 7.6 ? and then 7.5? i read somewhere they might degrade if benchmarked a lot but come on just running the windows experience index seems like it gets a lower score everytime. (not entirely sure though to affraid to run test again i'll stick with my 7.5 score for now.

Cons: Well Corsair Launched Force GT a little after i bought this. thats the only con i can think of but i picked this beast up for $120. Can't complain to much. just hope speeds don't get blistering fast in the next two years to where i want a new SSD. But this will fit the bill for now.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: + Lightning fast
+ Very quiet
+ TRIM Support
+ SATA III Support
+ Latest generation Marvell controller and synchronous MLC NAND flash

Cons: - A bit pricey compared to other SSDs, but it make up for it by having the latest technology, which makes it a bit more reliable and future proof.

Other Thoughts: The first thing you should do when you get this SSD is to align it properly (google "how to align ssd partition"), install your OS, then turn on AHCI via BIOS (if supported). Here are my speeds after doing the above:

SSD without alignment or AHCI turned on (IDE mode):
160mb read/105mb write on average

SSD with alignment:
172mb read/108mb write on average

SSD with alignment and AHCI mode turned on:
265mb read/110 write on average

Since my motherboard doesn't support SATA III (only SATA II), I can't reach anywhere near the advertised read speed (365mb/sec read). But with these speeds, I can boot to my desktop in 10 seconds with full usability, and games load 3x faster!

Corsair makes the highest quality products, and this being the latest generation of SSDs, you can expect this SSD to be very reliable.

Computer Specs:
Windows 7 Professional x64
Intel i7 875K
MSI P55-GD80
Ripjaws 2x2GB DDR3 1600 CL9
MSI GTX460 Hawk
Antec Earthwatts 650W

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazingly fast! Here are loading time samples:
Win7 Ultimate 64-bit 10 sec
Firefox load time <1 sec, almost instant!
Microsoft Word 2010 1 sec
Adobe Photoshop CS5 3 sec
Sony Vegas 10 5 sec

Cons: None so far or wait... may be the size :)

Other Thoughts: You can't go wrong with this drive.
This is my first time interacting in details with a SSD drive and I can say it trow me in a different world of personal computing. I've always trusted Corsair products for their quality and reliability and so did this time. I can't be happier, hope it will last.
Make sure you setup your windows settings manually for SSD drive (search Google), it's very important for the best speed and drive's life span
