2 out of 5 eggsWas good while it lasted

Pros: Was really fast when it worked

Cons: 2.5 years after purchase, completely hangs the machine with disk light on.

Event viewer shows Event 129/153 indicating drive time out. It's entirely busted.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Drive, SHORT LIFE!!!

Pros: First off this is an update for a previous review.
I got this drive to replace a Western Digital VelociRaptor HDD. After I loaded Windows & 64 bit on it, I was really impressed with the speed that Windows booted in and programs loaded in. All I can say is WOW! It is so much faster than the VelociRaptor!!

Cons: 2 Years later, I am getting BSOD's all the time. I tried reloading no help. I tried different memory, still getting BSOD's. I finally purchased a less expensive SSD and tried that. Been running for 6 weeks now, no BSOD's. Submitted for an RMA to Crucial, their web site says 1 business day and someone will contact you. WRONG!! Four business days later, still no contact. WHAT'S UP CRUCIAL?! All I can say is if your Crucial drive fails, BE READY TO WAIT! Very POOR customer support so far. Makes me wonder how their support is for their new Neutron SSD's???

Other Thoughts: I wonder if their tardiness in replying is because they have so many drives failing? Are they over whelmed? Makes you wonder!

2 out of 5 eggsMine just bit the dust

Pros: Was very fast and enjoyed it trouble free (until now)

Cons: Completely died, can see in BIOS (but thats it). Win 7 setup boot hangs if installed in the system. Unable to pickup the SSD on other systems.

Other Thoughts: Looks like I'm not the only unlucky one or maybe just a bad batch. I didn't even utilize it very much at all, only ran when gaming occasionally, cooled well, well care for, etc.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for the time being

Pros: Was fast and had great speeds when it worked.

Cons: Completely unstable. I've had this drive fail on me multiple times, I had begun to think this was my fault until I read that the average time for this drive to fail is a little over a year, which is when mine began acting up. I was able to reformat the drive several times and reinstall windows, however today seems to be the final day of it's life. Slightly about 20 months after being originally purchased. I would say it did not run perfectly for at least the past year, but it has been passable.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for almost 2 years

Pros: Was great when it worked. Had no problems with it up until the day it died.

Cons: Failed on me and I lost valuable data (I had a backup, but it was old so I lost quite alot of important data)

Other Thoughts: After almost 2 years it just decided to act up one day and later crapped itself mid windows. Drive is completely unresponsive and I was unable to retrieve valuable data. Even after a format and attempt to install windows the drive picks up but is completely unresponsive.

5 out of 5 eggsEnlightened II

Pros: Just a follow up on a previous post concerning the P3-128 SSD. At the suggestion of Corsair, I RMA this product back to them. Corsair replaced it with a new p3-128 SSD. Corsair was under no obligation or warranty to do so. I just think that this show their commitment to the products they produce and sell. In todays market place that says alot. Respects and my hats off to your company.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsFailed too soon and no RMA sent

Pros: Worked well for a little over a month. That's the only pro I can think of is that as long as it worked I was fairly happy with it.

Cons: Failed completely after a little more than a month of using it. Couldn't get anything out of it. Not able to read in BIOS. Total failure.
Went to Corsair's web site to request RMA and requested one. Waited a week but didn't get one. Re-requested another one and 2 days later have yet to get one. Sent email to ask them what is up and no response. Tried to get the RMA status on their site but it says the request and/or password is wrong (i never got a password) so it appears that Corsair is overwhelmed and is unable to handle failures. So far, I'm not too happy with it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast read/write. Noticeable improvement over HDD

Cons: Drive failed after 8 months of casual use in a professional workstation. Blue-screened and was then completely dysfunctional, unable to be recognized as a drive, unable to retrieve data off it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry to hear that the drive is causing you problems. Please fill out an RMA request on our Support page and we'll be more than happy happy to replace it for you.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

1 out of 5 eggs15 Month Follow-Up

Pros: There is no doubt that this drive lives up to the specs about being fast. Runs cool and is great for placement in tight machines.

Cons: The drive started having problems after 12-13 months with lock-up when entering programs like microsoft office. Failed to save and retrieve files. The drive function slowed with time and use. Blue screens started at 15 months; leading up to total failure now.

Other Thoughts: The cost versus amount of storage can not be justified when compared to traditional hard drive. Granted they our significantly fast, but they are not as dependable when compared to the speed, available storage size and dependability of the newer spin drives. My recommendation; go with tradition and spin!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Enlighten,

We're sorry for the inconvenience with our drive. If you'd like a replacement, please fill out an RMA request on our Support page and we'll be more than happy to replace it for you.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

1 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasts

Pros: Very fast

Cons: FAILS VERY FAST! They just keep failing. I have had 3 fail in less than a year. My Crucial SSD just keeps ticking along so I don't believe it is anything in my system causing them to crash.

Other Thoughts: If you don't already keep good backups, this drive will certainly teach you to.
