The Corsair 25nm-based Force Series SSD product line (model number that ends in "-A") offers maximum performance for your ultimate system with up to a maximum read speed of 280MB/s and write speed of 270MB/s. Based on the SandForce controller and the next generation 25nm IC technology, the Corsair Force Series SSD's are the ultimate performance drive for your demanding storage requirements. Your system will start-up faster, applications and games will load quicker and you will see a huge improvement in overall system responsiveness. If speed is what you are looking for and what you expect from your performance or gaming system, the Corsair Force Series SSD's are the perfect choice.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSD’s translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg Better Performance Built with MLC NAND flash and the latest generation SandForce controller, the Corsair Force Series F60A delivers world-class SSD reliability, performance, and power efficiency, with maximum sequential read speed of 280 MB/s and maximum sequential write speed of 270 MB/s, plus incredible random 4K write performance of 50,000 IOPS (4K aligned).
  • newegg TRIM Support The Corsair Force Series SSD’s offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
  • newegg 2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The Corsair Force Series features a standard 2.5-inch form factor for compatibility with notebooks and select desktops. A 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting bracket is included with the SSD for compatibility with standard hard drive mounting.

4 out of 5 eggsFast but reliable?

Pros: Fast, fast, fast. Atto 555 read, 509 write. Love this thing!

Cons: Had for 6 months then got massive system freezing. Tested all components and came up with bad SSD. Corsair Customer Service was great. Replacement drive at one month is performing great. We'll see in long run. By the way, Firmware version on replacement is 5.02 while the lastest on Corsair's website is 1.3.3

5 out of 5 eggsFast!

Pros: Lightning fast. Plug and play.

Cons: Low capacity, Expensive.

Other Thoughts: Installing games and programs on this thing takes seconds! Unbelievable overall experience compared to my 10,000rpm raptor drives. It's perfect for those all time favourite games which require massive bandwidth.

1 out of 5 eggsConsair Force Series

Pros: None. 2 weeks and crash and burn

Cons: Died after 2 weeks! I had installed O S on it so it would load quicker. What a pain it is to redo everything after this happens. It just stopped being recognized by bio's.

5 out of 5 eggsLove SSD Booting

Pros: Just using this for my Operating system at the moment. Love the fast boot times. From POST to running is about 20 seconds.

On install I just made sure to set the bios to AHCI mode and windows 7 had everything else configured properly on it's own.

Cons: not SATA III ?

There is no reading the p.o.s.t screen without pausing it. Even then it's tough to catch.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this drive, does exactly what I wanted it to.

1 out of 5 eggsPower cable issues

Pros: N/A

Cons: I have not been able to use the drive because the standard SATA power connector does not fit the system.

Manufacturer Response:

All of our SSDs use industry compliant power connectors. Please contact Tech Support and we'll help you resolve this. Also, please revisit your review once you actually use the drive.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't stay connected

Pros: Stores my data

Cons: Disconnects every 5 or so hours. The pins are really weak and I get a BSOD every 5+ hours because the pins disconnect. I have to power down my tower and wiggle the sata cable every so often because it won't stay connected. I have tried multiple sata cables but I got the same result.

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great! Fast boot times

Pros: Easy to install. Worked right out of the box. My OS boots up in about 20 seconds. The desktop loads quick.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Read up on installing an OS to a SSD drive before installing. It is NOT the same as a platter based HDD and you need to do some BIOS configs and post OS cinfig changes to get the most out of the drive. Windows 7 does a good job at recognizing MOST of the post install needs, but not all of them. Educate yourself and you'll never go back to an OS on HDD.

5 out of 5 eggsGood access speed

Pros: Access speed is phenomenal compared to a standard hard drive. No probs up to now (3 months of use)

Cons: Like thousands before me said, SSD's are somewhat pricey.

Other Thoughts: Using this small SSD to run my games, load times where cut in half vs a WD black HD.
