5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Kit Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R

Pros: Very reliable, fast, and efficient ram. Worked right out of the box, and took a couple of seconds to set xmp profiles for 1600mhz at CL 9. These modules are also very attractive and go well with my rig. Very pleased.

Cons: Non

Other Thoughts: My rig:
NZXT H440 case
Asus VII Hero mobo
i7-4790k cpu
Corsair H100i cpu cooler
Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 GPU

5 out of 5 eggsnice Ram, so nice i bought a 2nd kit 2 weeks later!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Kit Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R

Pros: black pcb (black perfect color for absorbing and radiating heat), Corsair is good company, been making memory for years and years. My first Corsair ram kit was a DDR2 2x512mb set back when i was playing BF2142 like a boss! EA where is the sequel for that game??? Also Corsair makes cases and power supplies and their offerings are a cut above the rest. If the price is right and I see the Corsair name, I buy it pretty much without thinking twice about it.

Cons: none (as long as the memory doesn't fail on me) Had it for 2 weeks so far and it works fine and looks good. Red with the black pcb is the best. My motherboard is even Blue and black, I didn't care and bought the Red cause it was the cheapest price and had the best pcb (Black). (pcb means "Printed Circuit Board" in case I was driving you nuts) I had some Red led Antec case fans I used for intake and the Red and Blue mix acutally doesn't look bad. Red Blue and Black. the only thing that looks bad is my Optical drive light is green...and that looks bad but 99.99% of the time im not used a CD anyways...

Other Thoughts: heatsinks are big (as in they stick up very high in the air. I had to remove my ram to finish installing my CPU heat sink, and then re plug in the Ram, but im not going to cry and whine about it for 2 paragraphs and then deduct 3 eggs b/c of it like some of you would...). Ram prices are super high now compared to about 2 years ago. I bought a DDR3 4x4gb (16gb total) ram kit from Corsair for around $56. after mail in rebate. Nuts huh? I broke up that kit and made 2 computers with it for 8gb ram each, for the insane price of less than $30. for each computer's Ram. Price dropped on this 2x4gb kit and bought a 2nd set for the new build I just did so I will have a full 16gb. Total cost now for that same amount of DDR3 4x4gb was $128. More than double what i paid 2 and 1/2 years ago (and I bought on sale, you could spend even more these days). Didn't buy any of the new intel offerings. Instead I got an i5 2500k off of another site cause I know that will clock up to 5.2 GHz on Air. Waiting for intel to start soldering their lids onto their CPUs again...they been making garbage for so long people think the i7 4790k is good...NEWS FLASH Sandy Bridge can do almost 6.0 GHz on Air. search the net for the world record. Devil's Canyon i7 craps out at 4.6 GHz. Hey intel it would cost what? 99 cents per CPU to start soldering the lids on? You could then charge $150. more per CPU if people knew they could get a "Sandy Bridge Quality" cpu with the new IPC gains. I just made you $149. per CPU you sell here on newegg. You are welcome.

5 out of 5 eggsGood price

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Kit Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R

Pros: I caught this on sale and I'm very glad I did. No problems and the temperature stays low on it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I wasn't looking to build a computer strong enough to launch the space shuttle. But the speed on this ram is fast enough to keep me from complaining and wondering if grimlings are inside the wiring slow down the traffic.

Pros: very nice

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: 52mm tall. Just letting people know because when I was looking for a CPU cooler the height of the ram was something i was looking for and I could not find the information anywhere.

5 out of 5 eggsCame for the looks, stayed for the quality, sorry, that was a dumb title

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Kit Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R

Pros: I love these sticks, they function fantastically, the heat sinks, actually function, as well as look cool, all around a great product.

Cons: They come out of the box clocked at 1333, you have to change them yourselves to 1600. It's not hard, just odd that you have to do it yourself. Also, were a bit stubborn to lock in, not very difficult, just needed a little bit more coaxing than normal.

Other Thoughts: They don't need to be at 1600, it's not really necessary. If you'e on the fence about buying 1333 or 1600, go with 1333, the difference is not huge. The average user, as well as the more advanced user, really won't make use of the difference. Of course, that isn't to say that 1600 isn't faster, but not really a necessity. You can look up the differences and decide for yourself, but don't think you have to have it for your system to be the best it can be, you won't hurt yourself for sticking with 1333 instead.
