Step Up To Solid-State Speed with Force Series 3

One of the best PC performance investments you can make.

You'll be amazed at the improvement over traditional hard drive access times the first time you turn on your computer, and for virtually everything you do with your PC. System startup, game and application load times, file loading, data transfers, and even shutdown times are all faster.

Your system will be more responsive, and you'll be more productive.

Add up all the time you spend all day waiting for your computer — starting up, loading game levels, saving large files and documents, and just moving data around — and it can be significant.

Using a PC can be a lot more enjoyable when it's not always making you wait.

The power of SATA 3 6Gb/second performance

The SATA 3 connection on the Force Series 3 offers up to 6Gb/s speed vs. SATA 2 drives that top out at 3Gb/s.

Great for the latest high-performance PCs.

There's fast, and then there's fast. Force Series 3 SSDs have even quicker read and write times when they're installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 3 interface.

Compatible with SATA 2 3Gb/s.

Haven't yet moved to SATA 3? Like all Corsair components, Force Series 3 SSDs are designed to last through several system upgrades. Adding a Force Series 3 today means that you'll still get incredible storage performance now, and your SSD will be ready for your next upgrade.

Force Series 3: Get more for less.

Choosing a Force Series 3 SSD helps your computing budget go farther. Powered by the SandForce SF-2200 controller, they deliver outstanding SATA 3 6Gb/s performance, with prices that are comparable to lower-performance SATA 2 3Gb/s solid-state drives.

Corsair SSDs: Designed for Performance and Durability

Corsair SSDs are 2.5" wide, the same size as notebook hard drives. An adapter is included for mounting in standard desktop PC 3.5" drive bays.

TRIM Support

Force Series 3 SSDs feature support for the Windows® 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.

Reliability

Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks.

Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption

Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.

3.5" adapter

The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series 3 SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: - Speed
- Stability
I purchased this for a new build in Feb '12 and have had 0 problems since then. 8 months solid performance and stability.
I installed Win7 easily and quickly, have filled the hard drive to only 30GB free with no slowdown like others claim on SSDs in general. I would recommend this to anyone with the money.

Cons: - Cost
For the price, there are other SSDs in the same category and better for much cheaper. Anymore, SSD pricing is very close to and under the 1/1 for $/GB.
Though I recommend it for my experience, I would suggest shopping for better pricing.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!!

Pros: Very fast and I have had no issues since updating the firmware when I first fot the drive. 35 seconds from pushing the power button to usable desktop.

Cons: The only thing I think I could list as a con is that you have to do a firmware update before using the drive in order to get the advertised speeds and for the drive to run properly.

4 out of 5 eggsimpressed but flustrated

Pros: Drives fast... Love the 3.5 adapter it came with small compact not so bulky like the normal 3.5 drives my first SSD went with cosair because the seem to have qaulity stuff...

Cons: it came with the 1.3.3 firmware but did not reconize my drive had to put it in a older 3GB sata connection to get it to show up. then had to use win 7 disk to craete a partition and format itr to be able to set up the new PC took around 2 hours to get it all figured out and going... not happy with that.

Other Thoughts: Should of came formated might have made my stress level go down a tad

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: Installed this in my new laptop. Everything worked great and was easy to setup. Computer boots and has all startup programs loaded within 15 seconds(antivirus, drivers etc.). Which is a major improvement over the HDD that was in it. Great price for the performance.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Corsair is a great company that backs their products.

5 out of 5 eggscorsair SSD's 240G

Pros: Fast and easy to install.
Comes with a mounting Brack
Stable

Cons: Price - Goes for all SSD’s at the moment.
I am currently not having any issues with them. They are running fast and stable with no errors (knock on wood) so far! The only thing that I wish is that they would come down in price, but I do not see that happening with any SSD any time soon. :(

**Looks like the price has dropped by about $30.00 since when I purchased these.

Other Thoughts: I decided that my Desktop needed an upgrade in the speed department so I Purchased two 240 Gig. Force 3 SSD’s. This version is the re-released/updated Force 3 series.. I am fairly new to installing SSD’s so this is my first shot at it. It was easy and straightforward like installing a standard HDD. So far they have been working great, my OS is on one and I keep my games and everything else on the other. I have noticed my boot time a lot faster than it was with my HDD, My games also boot faster! The SSD’s come with a mounting bracket which made for a quick and easy installation. I wasn’t trying to stuff them in whatever spare space I had available in my case.

4 out of 5 eggsfast

Pros: Works straight out of the box. It loads the computer in about 3 seconds.

Cons: The adapter isn't very good. I couldn't put the ssd on the adapter to go in the hot swap sata drive of my Corsair 800D case.

Other Thoughts: So far so good.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks flawlessly

Pros: Took boot times for Windows 7 on my parents' system down from 3 minutes to 30 seconds. Everything opens nearly instantly, which is to be expected from an SSD.

Came with the latest firmware, which is always -really- nice to have.

Cons: Formatted to show 223GB, but I kept my parents' 1.5TB hard drive in their computer, so it won't run out of space any time soon...

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This drive is very fast. I was able to copy files from my file server to my laptop over gigabit ethernet at speeds over 100MB/s. My desktop with a 15K RPM SAS drive cannot come anywhere close to that. This is my first SSD for personal use and i am very excited about the prospect of how an SSD can improve my portable computing experience. This ranks up there with multi-core processors, discrete graphics and DDR memory.

Less expensive than competing models of a similar speed and capacity.

Cons: I am on my second drive. No advanced replacement. I have to pay shipping to get it there. The RMA portal at Corsair is not updated properly. My new drive is also failing. This drive is absolutely junk. My first one worked 'well enough' that now i am past the point of being able to even return it to newegg.

The hard drive light will light up solid, then the OS becomes completely unresponsive, then when it comes back nothing works right until i power off. If i reboot the BIOS does not recognize the drive being attached.

Other Thoughts: I have seen that Corsair makes acceptable drives and i have used their memory for years, but this is a terrible product. Please buy something else. From the reviews, it seems about 50% success rate. I have apparently gotten the 'broken' choice twice in a row.

5 out of 5 eggsGood SSD Drive

Pros: Good price for simple but fast SSD.
Mine came with the latest firmware (big plus there!)
Worked 100% for me.
Comes with a 3 1/2" bracket

Cons: The 3 1/2 inch converter bracket didn't fit 100% as it's not long enough to match all 3 1/2" drive holes. I'd rather they make a full sized 3 1/2 bracket so that it's easier to install in some cases that have that need.

Other Thoughts: I'm amazed at how many folks just don't understand SSD drives. These are bleeding edge technology (yes even today still.) so there will be high failures and very mixed results.

My scores for throughput are 220 write and about 240 read. About 1/2 of the stated speed of the drive. I'm not worried though as I'm using on a SATA 2 based system with the P55 Intel chipset. So, I don't get full command support to the drive. I'm very pleased with what I do get though.
