Corsair's Dominator family represents the ultimate in performance technology engineering. And through further extensive and exhaustive in-house testing and qualification for guaranteed reliability and compatibility comes the Dominator GT, the ultimate solution for the ultra enthusiast and overclocker. Corsair Dominator GT only uses highly screened IC’s to guarantee performance and over-clockability. As for cooling, it uses ultra efficient Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) cooling technology and optional Airflow Fan to maximize heat transfer. With removable heat sinks, Corsair Dominator memory modules can even be outfitted with additional upcoming accessories with enhanced features.

  • newegg Dominator GT 2 X 4GB memory kit Corsair performs rigorous testing and screening on all components to select only the best for Dominator memory modules, such as high frequency and/or low latency capabilities for each IC, maximum interoperability and reliability as a united group. Designed to deliver outstanding performance and compatibility AMD and Intel Dual Channel systems, this Corsair Dominator GT 8GB kit (CMT8GX3M2A1866C9) has been tested to operate at outrageously fast 1866MHz at ultra-low latency of 9-10-9-27 and 1.5v, making it ideal for enthusiast and overclocker.
  • newegg Dual-path Heat eXchange Technology Corsair-exclusive Dual-path Heat eXchange (DHX) technology utilizes both conductive and convective cooling paths to effectively remove heat from the memory circuit board for maximized heat dissipation, resulting in enhanced reliability, stability and performance capability even in the most extremely overclocked memory module.
  • newegg Airflow – Extra Cooling for Extreme Overclocking The Airflow fan unit contains two 60mm tachometer-controlled fans to provide impinging airflow to the memory subsystem. With the moderate RPMs required to provide adequate forced air, the Airflow fan is nearly silent. The fan easily clamps onto most motherboards.
  • newegg Support for Intel XMP Intel Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP) technology provides a robust, profile-based overclocking solution for novice and experienced overclockers - easily overclock your platform by selecting the predefined profile in the BIOS, or manually adjust frequency and timings to extract maximum performance from your system.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but with one major flaw

Pros: This ram was great I could have tons of ram taxing things open

Cons: One 4 gb stick fried in under 3 months. I had no recognition until i checked cpuid and only one was recognized

Other Thoughts: love the ram just wished it didn't fry itself

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Worked great right out of the box.

Cons: Had to adjust the clock speed in Bios from auto clock to run at 1866. Not sure if this is the RAM or my Sabertooth 990FX Rev. 2.

3 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: easy to install, cool looking,

Cons: no room for fan, one of the 4gb fried with-in 2 months of installation

Other Thoughts: after 2 months of having the 8gb of the corsair dominator gt, one of the 4gb of ram fried on my and i was stupid enough to wait this long to write a review or even rma it >_< even though I'm running on 4gb of ram, everything is still smooth and i run all my games on ultra and theyre still smooth, still regret not RMAing the fried 4gb of ram

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Great quality. Easy to istall. Fan works well.

Cons: Fan is a bit louder than expected, but not so much that I would call it intrusive....you just know that it's there. Directions for installing the fan may not be clear for those with minimal computer building experience.

Other Thoughts: Wish that the manufacture packaging was better, as well as the inclusion of more clear directions for the assembley of the fan. This was not that much of an issue for me, but for those that have never installed RAM or other computer hardware, this could be an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsTypical Corsair Quality

Pros: Fast, stable, good timings, 1.5v for SB-e processor, Good-looking plus a fan for cooling

Cons: Price? but you get what you pay for....

Other Thoughts: I have 2 kits of this memory, 16GB total, running in my Asus Sabertooth X79 motherboard. My rig is OC'd to 4.6ghz at this time and the memory is purring-along at it's rated timings of 9-10-9-27 1866mhz 1.5v

Cooling fans were a breeze to install unlike a competitor that required you to literally bend the clamps out to fit over the DIMMs. The Corsair kit allows you to fit the cooler in place, loosely, and use the screws to provide the clamping force to hold it in place..... well done!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality

Pros: I have 8GB of this ram right now and it's working great. No overclock for the speed and I like the rigid look. Good latency and heat sink is solid and tight, feels like quality in your hands. It was easy to set 1866 in the BIOS with no problem or voltage manipulation necessary. Works on auto voltage just fine all you need to do is set your timings.

Cons: Not much room to rig the fan setup on the ram inside my system. IMO that is an accessory that isn't really needed in a decent vented case. Might mislead you to buy, but you wont regret getting this ram.

Other Thoughts: I use a corsair H80i for cooling with the ASUS Rampage IV GENE mobo and it was a pretty tight fit, but that is due to my mobo design. This ram scored great on benchmarks and I'm happy to run 1866 @ 1.5V any day.

I used Cosair Vengeance 1600 and was let down. The heat sink easily detached when I attempted to install the ram and it felt like junk as well. I also used G Skill Ripjaw 1600 ram which had a low quality heatsink and I thought felt like junk in my hands, very lightweight.
This however feels like like real quality and the performance will not disappoint you.
I used the included fans as an exhaust inside my HAF 932 lol, they fit perfect where the removable top back plate for the water cooling ports are, so I managed to get some good use out of them plus the fans are quiet as well.

All in all, very pleased. I will consider an upgrade to 16GB no doubt

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory!

Pros: -Fan Headers Release Heat Quickly
-Very Fast and Slimmer Design

Cons: - The Fan that comes with the Memory is very large and the clips are not very good, so if you think it is a deal because of the fan "lol", you should not be interested.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: Relatively low timings for voltage and speeds.
The style of this Dominator GT kit for those who like the red/black look.
Stable at XMP speeds and voltages. Could try 1.35V on this kit and/or overclocking to DDR3-2133 speeds.

Cons: None as per memtest and prime95

Other Thoughts: Considering the price, you get what you pay for. Corsair delivered the desired performance I wanted. This is in comparison to 2 sets of 2x2GB g.skill ripjaws-x modules rated for DDR3-2133 speeds. I was not able to get to 5.0ghz overclock regardless of voltage on my i7-2600k. With this corsair set in, I can get to 5.0ghz stable solely because of this RAM kit! Also, the g.skill set was not able to stably get to 1866mhz, 1600mhz, or 1333mhz on that set with the 5.0 ghz overclock. I can't comment whether it's because of the included fan that improved performance for the Corsair kit or not. I would definitely buy another kit to get 16GB of this ram.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns great, looks great

Pros: Bought 2x sets of 4gb ram, one set was bad but thats not something out of the ordinary. Fast, Mobo lets me clock them well over 1866mhz eventhough I dont need it

Cons: One set of ram was bad initially. Newegg made me pay for shipping twice (I originally sent just the ram to avoid more shipping costs) so I ended up paying $30 on top of what I paid originally so that was irritating

Other Thoughts: Other than having to pay $210 dollars for 170 worth of ram I cant complain.
