  • newegg Built for Speed Corsair’s Force Series GT uses the new SandForce SF-2280 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with ONFI synchronous flash memory. Force Series GT SSDs deliver outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of up to 85K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s. The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music, movie and graphics files.
  • newegg SSD Benefits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg Trim Support The Force Series GT SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg 3.5" Adapter All Force Series GT SSDs are backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s. The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series GT SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable as Can Be

Pros: I bought this drive 3 years and 11 months ago. Currently, I have put on 27,052 hours on the drive for an average of 18.9 hours per day (I leave my computer on almost all the time). I have written 14,056 GB to it and read 24,934 GB from it. The drive is in excellent condition with no issues and all my HDD checkers reporting >95% health for it. I've recently done a speed test on it and am still getting around 520 MB/sec read and write meaning no degrading has happened. I highly recommend this drive to anyone.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance while it lasted

Pros: Very easy to install and worked immediately out of the box. The performance on read/write was very fast

Cons: Died after three years without warning just outside the warranty period. I typically put my computer to sleep at night and during the day, but it wouldn't come back up. After I rebooted no boot media was found and the BIOS only showed my secondary drive. I tried swapping cables, SATA ports, and power but I couldn't get it to be recognized as being attached.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed 3 months after warranty ended!

Pros: Worked great for the 3 years I had it. Fast and efficient!

Cons: Failed right outside of warranty. I understand hard drives fail but it is almost like Corsair knows their product is only gonna last 3 years! Now I have to get through the process of getting a new SSD and installing the OS and restoring all of my files back onto the drive........ Not my idea of a quality product when i have other drives way older than this one that are still running fine.

Other Thoughts: Not that I have anything against Corsair. I have many of their products in many of the builds I have done. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth to have it fail right outside of the warranty!

5 out of 5 eggsHas run my primary i7 for 3 years

Pros: Very fast with a 28-35 second startup from the push of the power button. It is faster during a "Restart". This has been running 24x7 for 3 years and never crashed once. Running Windows 7 Pro with an i7 Quad core CPU and 16 GB RAM. This drive is as rock solid as any WD Black I have used, and that is a ton over 28 years of IT.

Cons: None that I have noticed.

Other Thoughts: Like any drive that contains the OS and Program Installs, over time they become slower. I normally rebuild a personal system drive every 12 months, as I install lots of test apps for my customers. I have let this SSD run without a rebuild for 3 years and it now takes about 45 seconds to boot, but that is the only noticeable change from day one.

1 out of 5 eggsMaintain it or stop selling it

Pros: None.

Cons: Like some folks here and many, many more on the Corsair user forum I am having the "drive goes missing in the BIOS" issue. After the reviewing the complaints in their forums it appears that unlike other manufacturers using the same SandForce controller Corsair has stopped firmware maintenance for the drive at the very old 5.05.

Other Thoughts: Corsair, you should either do proper updates or stop selling this thing.

1 out of 5 eggsWin7 loses sight of Corsair Force SSD

Pros: Fast for 90 days.

Cons: Every five hours or so the operating system say that no hard drive system exists. I must shut down, not restart system to go into my bios to change primary drive to boot back into Windows. Samsung is my next boot drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive but died after 2yrs

Pros: Very fast, its corsair. What else is there? It's a hard drive.

Cons: It died after 2 years out of nowhere.

Other Thoughts: Was working great, turned off computer, 3 hours later, nothing found in bios. The only reason I still give this 5 stars is Corsairs amazing service. I was worried that my replacement was shipping from Taiwan and would take awhile to get here but boy was I wrong. I filed RMA with Corsair 11:30 PM Sunday night, it shipped 6AM our time (PST) from Taiwan and it was on my doorstep by 10AM Tuesday less than 48hours later. I couldn't be happier! This is why I will always buy from corsair. I'm a little upset I had to reinstall windows and set everything back up but $@#* happens no matter what brand you buy so I'm one happy camper.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST AND STABLE BUY!!!!!

Pros: I have this one in a Toshiba Laptop. It has been going strong with regular use. It has been about 4 years and no hiccup. My client is happy. Stays cool and one of the fastest in real world test. NO HICCUPS.

Cons: NONE WILL BUY MORE THAN I CAN COUNT.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Well for 3 Years

Pros: Fast

Cons: Reliability
Died after 3 years and 3months of use. Expected to last it a bit longer - there are no spinning parts, right?
As I realize now the longevity may be as expected, so beware and back up.

Other Thoughts: Not sure whether to dock a star or not. Not happy it died faster than my other regular drives.
