5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: - no errors in memtest
- works great as expected
- love the blue colored heatsinks
- love that awesome lifetime warranty

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My sister's motherboard refuses to allow me to set the clock speed to exactly 1600MHz... it would either go higher or lower by a factor of 100 after restart... so I just set it to auto and hope for the best. It seems like the motherboard is persistent in wanting to clock everything based on activity. While it's likely not the ram's fault, I figured I should probably mention it anyways in case it was.

I'd definitely buy these sticks again... in fact, I probably will for my next few builds.

5 out of 5 eggsAdded 8GB more after 8 months

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: -Works well
-Low profile, fits under my Phanteks PH-TC14PE on my ASUS Z97-PRO motherboard with room to spare.
-Great ram for the price

Cons: -Possible overheating from the low profile heatsink, but at default speed I haven't had a single problem.

Other Thoughts: - I did need to set the speed in BIOS to 1600 MHz, it defaulted to 1333 for me, but I didn't have any problems with it.

- I've been playing modded Minecraft (200+ mods) with 8GB which has worked fine, but it's a resource hog. I couldn't open an internet browser to look up stuff while running the game, so I ordered the same ram again for a total of 16GB. Runs great. Typing this with the game running in the background.

In total, I've owned 3 sets of these. 6 sticks total. First 8G since Nov 2014 has worked flawlessly. Of the second set ordered June 2015, one stick was DOA, so I RMA'd that set. It wouldn't boot with when I threw in the new sticks, so I installed them one by one and booted each time. All of them would boot to windows but one stick, which gave me the same error as when I had all 4 sticks in. Just got the replacement today from Newegg (less than a week after putting the RMA in the mail). This third set of 8GB is plugged in and has been works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: Low profile. Looks cool. Easy to install. Works great. Fits perfectly on Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H motherboard, and fits underneath Noctua NH-C14 HSF with a few mm of clearance.

Cons: Doesn't look as cool as non-low profile version.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: Worked as expected........ for about a week.

Cons: After a week, started getting memory errors and then progressively more frequent "blue screen" shutdowns. Subsequent testing revealed one of the two memory sticks was defective. Have RMA'd. Awaiting replacement. Disappointed by the lack of reliability and hassle of replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellet ram, cheap, good looking, and low profile

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: - Looks great
- Low profile
- Performs well
- Cheap

Cons: - Not as good for overclocking as ram with higher profile / bigger heatsinks
- The color of these ram sticks are a slightly different color than the 2 other sticks I got previously, even though they're the same make, model and model number

Other Thoughts: This is the second set of Corsair Vengeance LP's (Low Profile) ram that I got to fill up all 4 slots on my motherboard. I got another set of 2 x 4gb sticks from a brick an mortar store that I paid $10 more for than on Newegg.

Since I wasn't as impatient this time, I ordered from Newegg and saved money. This ram is great because they fit under the heatsink assembly of an aftermarket cooler such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (which I have in my case) if you have a motherboard that has the processor socket close to the ram sockets.

I have 4 sticks of this ram now, and my only complaint is that the color of the 2 new ones is slightly different than the color of the 2 old ones of the same exact type I already had. That could be seen as a positive by some people though, if they (like me) have each pair of ram sticks in dual channel slots.

Lastly, since the heatsinks on this ram aren't really heavy duty (since they are low profile after all, and have less mass and heat dissipation dedicated to them than ram with higher profile and larger heatsinks) I would bet that they don't overclock extremely well.

I got them to 1866 stable, but I don't really care about overclocking my ram because I've heard that it only gives you marginal improvements and is almost not worth it.

4 out of 5 eggslow profile

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: low profile fits under Radeon 6990 in small case, high clock speed 1600, stays very cool,

Cons: docked one egg do to having to manually set clock speed on foxcoon motherboard paired with amd llano cpu no auto detection.

Other Thoughts: bought this to pair with an amd llan cpu/gpu used for approx 3 moths with no video card and ram speed was high enough that most games performed well on medium settings, ended up buying stand alone radeon 6990 and this ram fit underneath that massive card which is a huge plus as most modern heatsinks are to big.

5 out of 5 eggsCool, Sleek, and Fast

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: - Sleek design
- Stays cool
- Fast
- Matched my setup :D

Cons: - Not free

Other Thoughts: When I first got this memory, I thought it was DoA, but it turns out that was an issue with the mobo and was quickly resolved by its manufacturer. Since then, this memory has performed as well as I've expected it to while staying plenty cool and looking great in my case. Some people might like the fancy fins on their memory, but nothing beats the simple and sleek look of the metallic finish on this for me.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Pros: Rock solid after setting correct speed, fits under my CM 212 cooler, looks good w/ blue heat spreaders on black MB.

Cons: Had to manually set clock speed in BIOS. Was slightly unstable at DDR3 1333 settings.

Other Thoughts: Bought mine here on Newegg in July 2012, price was less; should have bought two sets then.
