3 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, 1 sad stick!

Pros: Had 4 for about 6 months and worked great. Animations programs, Internet, games, videos, photos everything was amazing. Couldn't complain. Performance was always top notch, great for overclocking.

Cons: 1 stick did go bad so i'm down to 12 gb. Still fine on performance since all you really need is 8gb.

Other Thoughts: I moved after I installed, highly doubt that caused anything. Caused my computer to crash so I found out which stick was bad and removed it.

2 out of 5 eggsSending them back

Pros: Cool looking heatsinks. Theoretically nice speeds for the voltage and price.

Cons: Will not run at 1600. Tested on 3 diferent motherboards, and loosened the timings too. Seems like the Egg received a bat QC batch from Corsair.

Other Thoughts: First time Corsair has failed me, I will purchase from them again, just not anything under 1.5v

Manufacturer Response:

Dear moocow,

We're sorry to hear that you're having troubles with your system. Please contact our Tech Support at 800-205-7657 and we would be delighted to help you get your system running.

2 out of 5 eggsRam errors

Pros: Very pretty, goes well with my black and white case setup. The error free RAM works as expected.

Cons: Bought 2 sets for 16GB. Out of the 2 sets, one set has errors indicated by Windows 7 memory diagnostic, crashes my games and permanently corrupts some of my game files...

Other Thoughts: Tested each set separately. With the defective set, game keeps crashing randomly to blue screen. With the good set, all is smooth.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear oraco,

We're sorry to hear that your memory kit is having issues. Please fill out an RMA request at http://www.corsair.com/en/support/ and we would be happy to assist you.

3 out of 5 eggsDefective stick of ram

Pros: Looks nice, low Profile.

Cons: First time buying CORSAIR memory, disappointed in corsairs QC. I don't appreciate computer down time on new build.

Other Thoughts: Crucial memory has never let me down, why i changed I'am not sure.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

5 out of 5 eggsNow that's the stuff

Pros: Running 9-9-9-24-1t @ 1.5v on my ASRock Z77. Low profile DIMMs will fit under most large CPU heat sinks and fans.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Not a con, you likely will need to setup the RAM timings in your BIOS to get rated speed and CAS values. Newbies, don't be surprised by this, even if you're not overclocking you should plan to go into the BIOS and check the RAM speed and CAS to make sure you're getting what you paid for.

5 out of 5 eggsMeets Expectations

Pros: Aesthetics are solid - Some of the best-looking ram out there.
Runs @ rated specs without issue

Cons: Could be a bit cheaper

Other Thoughts: Running 16GB (4x4GB) in a z77 system - Rock solid.

5 out of 5 eggsGood ram

Pros: low profile, and icy white color, good normal ole' 1600mhz ram sticks.

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: Not a con for me, but as others mention you do have to manually set the frequency in BIOS. May be difficult for those with lower tech knowledge, than having a pair of sticks that are recognized as 1600mhz right away.

1 out of 5 eggsOne out of two

Pros: Looks nice. One stick works.

Cons: One out of two sticks is defective.

Other Thoughts: Did Corsair stop running quality control on these? How did this bad stick make it into the hands of a customer? I'm dissapointed that the new PC I built will have to be down a few days due to Corsair churing out defective memory.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Standard profile (no unnecessary height to memory sticks).

Heat spreaders.

Matched pair.

Cons: 1.5v 1333 MHz RAM, both not as advertised.

Other Thoughts: In order to run these at the advertised voltage/frequency, you need to activate the XMP. Anybody who wants to downclock can. There is no point in making SPD lower frequency or higher voltage than advertised. I docked an egg for this because legitimate or not, it's the first memory I've had in over a decade that required me to do ANYTHING in the BIOS to be able to use it. I've been a loyal Corsair customer for ten years and this is one of their more recent actions that has me second guessing them like never before.
