5 out of 5 eggs1 year 1 month later still working

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: it works after heavy abuse. No issues whatsoever

Cons: had to have my first pair replaced but Corsair RMA process was smooth. My guess is I did something that broke it.

Other Thoughts: If this pair were to die I would probably buy another of the same kind.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks and haven't had any issues.

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: I've had this RAM since 2012 and I haven't had any issues.
The low profile really does help with large CPU coolers. My RAM was running a bit hot, so make sure you have adequate airflow in your system. It's been running well for the past 2+ years, hopefully it will keep on running well for much longer.

Cons: It seems that it's become a bit pricy, but most RAM has. I believe I got mine for around $70.0 USD around 2 years ago.

Other Thoughts: After installing check your BIOS and make sure it is running at 1600MHz. Mine was running at 1333MHz, but that's easy to change in the BIOS.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't last a month

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: Worked fine out of the box. Nothing to say, really. Worked as good as any other.

Cons: Started getting blue screens out the a**. Couldn't get past BIOS.

Other Thoughts: I didn't use this ram very much. I had it in an old Dell on which I was running a Linux server, so I rarely used it; it's definitely not wear and tear that made this product go bad.

As you can see from a few of the other reviews, this issue is recurring. It's extremely frustrating, after the fact that I had to use trail and error many times just to narrow the problem down to this cheap ram. I never figured a Corsair product would bite the dust so hard and in so little time like this, but I suppose it's my fault for placing so much trust in them.

3 out of 5 eggsfirst time ive ever had bad RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: -stylish
-white sticks to match my white Thor case
-low profile

Cons: started blue screening my pc after 8 months...spent a few days figuring out the RAM was bad. bought new corsair RAM (not these) and its weird because it was making my pc do funny things, really funny things.

Other Thoughts: i bought these because i basically mirrored my friend's pc build. he has this same ram and hasn't had a problem yet....i should've just looked at the majority of the reviews and stayed away.

2 out of 5 eggsCorsair Cust. Serv. very poor

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: 1 stick still works

Cons: After about 8 months my computer started suffering random program crashes, reboots, and BSoDs, then came the day it wouldn't boot at all. Turns out 1 stick went bad (nothing but fails in Memtest). With bad stick removed system works fine, 'though low in memory. Problem is I cannot get warranty replacement without losing my computer for a couple weeks.

Other Thoughts: I don't have a credit card for them to hold hostage so they won't send me a replacement first and they won't replace a single stick so my only option for replacement is going to leave me without a computer for a couple weeks - time during which I'll still have to be paying for my internet service, even though I'll be unable to use it. CSR was not helpful, nor was supervisor. I think my 15+ year association with Corsair is at an end. Anyone hear good things about G.Skill or Patriot?

3 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, 1 sad stick!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: Had 4 for about 6 months and worked great. Animations programs, Internet, games, videos, photos everything was amazing. Couldn't complain. Performance was always top notch, great for overclocking.

Cons: 1 stick did go bad so i'm down to 12 gb. Still fine on performance since all you really need is 8gb.

Other Thoughts: I moved after I installed, highly doubt that caused anything. Caused my computer to crash so I found out which stick was bad and removed it.

2 out of 5 eggsSending them back

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: Cool looking heatsinks. Theoretically nice speeds for the voltage and price.

Cons: Will not run at 1600. Tested on 3 diferent motherboards, and loosened the timings too. Seems like the Egg received a bat QC batch from Corsair.

Other Thoughts: First time Corsair has failed me, I will purchase from them again, just not anything under 1.5v

2 out of 5 eggsRam errors

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W

Pros: Very pretty, goes well with my black and white case setup. The error free RAM works as expected.

Cons: Bought 2 sets for 16GB. Out of the 2 sets, one set has errors indicated by Windows 7 memory diagnostic, crashes my games and permanently corrupts some of my game files...

Other Thoughts: Tested each set separately. With the defective set, game keeps crashing randomly to blue screen. With the good set, all is smooth.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear oraco,

We're sorry to hear that your memory kit is having issues. Please fill out an RMA request at http://www.corsair.com/en/support/ and we would be happy to assist you.

Pros: Looks nice, low Profile.

Cons: First time buying CORSAIR memory, disappointed in corsairs QC. I don't appreciate computer down time on new build.

Other Thoughts: Crucial memory has never let me down, why i changed I'am not sure.
