2 out of 5 eggsBroke

Pros: Worked for almost 2 years

Cons: USB 3.0 functionality died and the 2.0 was sketchy after 2 years of use. Was really quite upset as it was not cheap ($54) and a replacement for 3.0 is still not cheap until I found out that it had a 5 year warranty which I quickly went to support site and requested an RMA. Hopefully it will be a painless process.

2 out of 5 eggsunreliable

Pros: Fast and relatively cheap.

Cons: RMA'd twice. I bought it in October 2011, and it failed a couple months later. I got the drive back about a week later. It worked for another 4 months then failed again (with a different error).

Other Thoughts: I am a tech so I use it much more than the average person. Getting an RMA from Corsair was easier than most companies.

1 out of 5 eggs2 Months and Dead

Pros: Very fast while it worked. Good price for speeds/size! Corsair.

Cons: Bulky. It's a lot bigger than the standard Flash Voyagers.

As many have stated, product works great for 1-3 months, then doesn't mount properly. The blue LED will flash slower than normal and won't stop. The computer recognizes that something is plugged into USB port, but it is unaccessible.

Other Thoughts: I scoured the internet to see if there were any "fixes", but only found that this is a widely known problem. I have never had any issues with any Corsair product in the past, but from my experience and research this product will not last. It's less of a question of IF and more of a question of When.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Tommyboy,

We're sorry to hear that our drive failed. Please fill out an RMA on our Support page and we'll be more than happy to replace it with a new drive.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

1 out of 5 eggsStopped working within 2 months

Pros: Fast when working.

Cons: Bulky and large (4" long, 1" wide at its thickest). The drive was purchased in Feb and stopped working by April 10. Tried on multiple machines, Windows and Mac - not showing up as a drive and blue-light is solid rather than blinking.

3 out of 5 eggsFast While it Lasts

Pros: - USB 3.0 Read/Write speeds are as good as Corsair advertised.
- Feels very durable.

Cons: About 5 weeks after receiving this drive, it died out of the blue. Neither my PC nor Mac would recognize it, and could not reformat it. I RMA'd to Corsair to directly as my Newegg RMA period was expired and had to pay for my own shipping (kind of a bummer considering the amount of bad drives that apparently shipped out but whatever). About a week later I just received my replacement drive. We'll see how long it lasts.

Other Thoughts: I am giving the drive 3 eggs to start due to the fact that while the drive worked, it was/is blazingly fast. However, due to the RMA, and the fact that this does not seem to be an isolated incident, I am reserving judgement. if this drive lasts me a month or 2, I'll gladly give it another egg or 2. However, if in another month I'm at the post office shipping a bad drive back to Corsair, I'll stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a hapy camper.

Pros: This device is quite fast and has a great capacity as well. One of the reasons that I chose Corsair is their quality and speed.

Cons: I was very disappointed to find out that they don't build flash drives like they used to.

Other Thoughts: I have purchase a Corsair product before and never had any issues to speak of, it has lasted 4+ years now. I was very excited to see a flash drive using USB3.0 and a larger capacity. Unfortunately, this excitement did not last very long. After a month of my purchase, my device died. I had backed it up moments prior, only to find out that all of the data I created or saved was corrupt, which was about a month or two worth of work.
