  • newegg Built for Speed Corsair’s Force Series GT uses the new SandForce SF-2280 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with ONFI synchronous flash memory. Force Series GT SSDs deliver outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of up to 85K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s. The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music, movie and graphics files.
  • newegg SSD Benefits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg Trim Support The Force Series GT SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg 3.5" Adapter All Force Series GT SSDs are backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s. The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series GT SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

3 out of 5 eggsRIP corsair

Pros: I bought this drive back in 2011 and it worked great for almost a year and a half.

Cons: Unfortunately my drive decided to give up today and just die. No warning or anything, I fired up my desktop and found that was no longer reading or being recongnized.

Other Thoughts: I'm waiting on Corsair to send me an RMA number and I hope my $145 wasn't wasted.

2 out of 5 eggsDead, lightly used, 10 months

Pros: Fast, cool, I like Corsair products generally

Cons: This drive was for my "travel laptop" (old Dell Centrino) and barely gets used. I'm in Boston on business, it worked in the morning, but when I booted at the airport later that day - Dead. Bummed because I wanted to watch a movie.

Other Thoughts: I like Corsair, I got a bad drive, it happens. Fortunately it was a clone of my old drive so once I got home I swapped back & was working immediately (well, back in the closet for this laptop anyways..)

5 out of 5 eggsFast, Works, Small

Pros: This worked right out of the box, no muss, no fuss. I couldn't have asked for more. The space is a bit smaller than I thought it would be. With windows 8 and some drivers I ate up about 20 GB of space.

Cons: it is only 90 gb, as suggested on the label

Other Thoughts: Once I get the raid installed this is going to be a great operating system drive.

5 out of 5 eggs#Nice SSD

Pros: Corsair has delivered me with many quality parts in the past. I don't expect this to be any different.

Cons: They haven't arrived yet! I'm not a Tech Level 3?

4 out of 5 eggsNice SSD

Pros: Good Price. Fast.

Cons: Not enough GBs for my needs.

Other Thoughts: Look, I'm no Wiz here...I built a nice little system here to upgrade my 5 year old HP Walmart special. As I was researching and picking my components, I got caught up in the SSD "fever" How fast they are and how the prices per GB are coming down. I watched Paul's videos on Newegg TV on YouTube and saw this one on sale and thought "great, lets go"....I just couldn't figure out how to configure it as a Bootable drive with my OS and then use my WD 1TB HDD to work as my storage. I got frustrated going to all the Forums and reading all the configuration recipies( none of them the same or understandable to me), so..I disconnected it and re installed Windows onto My HDD and I'm hoping sometime in the future someone writes a program or something I can load to make my SDD work the way I envisioned it. I know, a $100.00 sitting idle in my case, but like I said I'm no Wiz....

3 out of 5 eggsLooked great, but an error

Pros: It work without too much trouble and it included a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket. It's really fast on Read.

Cons: The bracket, while it is a good idea to give it, the installation wasn't without pain. The screws couldn't properly fit even though they were properly aligned with the holes. Because of that, in order to secure the drive with the bracket the screws damaged the exterior of it.

The write speed is ABSOLUTLY NOT what is advertised. After getting the drive, setting my Sata controller on AHCI, installing Windows 7 64bit and updating everything (including drivers and BIOS) the first thing I did was running a benchmark on the SSD.

I got 439.20 MB/s Sequential Read which is close to the maximum (550 MB/s) and that is great. Access time on Read was 0.277 ms which is, again, great.

However, Sequential Write was 73.78 MB/s with access time of 10.273 ms. That score is very far away from the advertised 505 MB/s VERY FAR AWAY.

I read online for a bit, people are talking about a possible problem with the Marvell controller which is the controller my motherboard is using. I don't know why they felt like not advertising that "minor inconvenient" which greatly limit the performance of that expansive drive.
Better watch out!

5 out of 5 eggs90 is a strange number

Pros: same performance as all other Corsair GT SSDs of which I own 2x480GB and 6x120GB

Cons: 90GB is a strange number for a SSD. In reality you get ~80GB with a fresh OS

Other Thoughts: If you are on a budget this SSD will deliver the same performance found in the rest of Corsiar's high end SSDs
