Step Up To Solid-State Speed with Force Series 3

One of the best PC performance investments you can make.

You'll be amazed at the improvement over traditional hard drive access times the first time you turn on your computer, and for virtually everything you do with your PC. System startup, game and application load times, file loading, data transfers, and even shutdown times are all faster.

Your system will be more responsive, and you'll be more productive.

Add up all the time you spend all day waiting for your computer — starting up, loading game levels, saving large files and documents, and just moving data around — and it can be significant.

Using a PC can be a lot more enjoyable when it's not always making you wait.

The power of SATA 3 6Gb/second performance

The SATA 3 connection on the Force Series 3 offers up to 6Gb/s speed vs. SATA 2 drives that top out at 3Gb/s.

Great for the latest high-performance PCs.

There's fast, and then there's fast. Force Series 3 SSDs have even quicker read and write times when they're installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 3 interface.

Compatible with SATA 2 3Gb/s.

Haven't yet moved to SATA 3? Like all Corsair components, Force Series 3 SSDs are designed to last through several system upgrades. Adding a Force Series 3 today means that you'll still get incredible storage performance now, and your SSD will be ready for your next upgrade.

Force Series 3: Get more for less.

Choosing a Force Series 3 SSD helps your computing budget go farther. Powered by the SandForce SF-2200 controller, they deliver outstanding SATA 3 6Gb/s performance, with prices that are comparable to lower-performance SATA 2 3Gb/s solid-state drives.

Corsair SSDs: Designed for Performance and Durability

Corsair SSDs are 2.5" wide, the same size as notebook hard drives. An adapter is included for mounting in standard desktop PC 3.5" drive bays.

TRIM Support

Force Series 3 SSDs feature support for the Windows® 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.

Reliability

Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks.

Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption

Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.

3.5" adapter

The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series 3 SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome SSD

Cons: Wish i went bigger like 240GB.

Other Thoughts: Thinking about getting a second one for raid 0

1 out of 5 eggsRebate denied again

Pros: Speed, its pretty fast

Cons: slows down considerably when is raid after a couple of weeks.
Corsair denied this rebate which seems to be the trend if you look at other customers of this drive as well as the GT version. Corsair's reason was there wasn't a UPC code in the envelope. However, I had a high definition video that clearly show the UPC code in the envelope and then the envelope is sealed.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT buy this drive if you believe you will get the rebate.

2 out of 5 eggsRebate Disappointment

Pros: Has not failed yet.

Cons: Bought one for me and the wife (as a present). Tried to submit the two rebates, but found out the fine print says "one per household." I was on the phone politely with Corsair rebate people for over an hour trying to figure out a amicable solution, but they refused. I understand that the limit is to prevent stockpiling, but two drives for a couple's matching computers is not this rule's intended target.

Other Thoughts: For the $30 rebate I didn't get, I could have bought a better drive.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy so far

Pros: I've had this for just over a month. It's VERY fast. Windows boots up, logs in, and finishes loading programs in 15 seconds total. BF3 maps, even with my old processor, load up in 20 seconds.

Cons: None so far. SSDs are expensive and I got a killer deal on this one on Newegg so I can't complain about the price too much. I do think SSDs aren't "quite there" in the reliability department yet but I've had no indication of trouble so far.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with it. Can't complain.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD

Pros: This is a silent, low heat/power consumption device. Works exactly as advertised

Cons: SSD is still a bit much on the byte per dollar ratio compared to mechanical drives, but you get what you pay for, totally worth it.

Other Thoughts: This drive came with a rebate which Corsair honored in a timely fashion. I have been buying their products since the mid 90s and I've had little to no trouble across the board. Quality, price, performance and even with customer support on the rare occasion there is a problem.

5 out of 5 eggs6 months going strong

Pros: Pretty fast... For some reason i felt it would be faster but its testing at the proper speeds. Still faster than my old spinning drives. Make sure to enable ahci. Ive had my motherboard randomly change my bios settings back to ide a few times and i knew almost instantly because i would get blue screen of death. You Dont have to reinstall your os to get the ahci in your registry either.... Windows has a tool that does it for you just Google it. Waited 6 months to review and so far so good.

Cons: Rebate was bogus... I went with this ssd instead of a more reliable brand because of the mir. Definetly will not get a corsair if it has a rebate. I sent in and they said it was post marked too late. But it was post marked by the date on the form i mailed it in on because i had made a copy of it before i sent out. Ive also had issues with the screws on the bracket. They randomly back out and leave my ssd swinging around my case (often do lan parties) so i replaced them with some random case screws and its been fine since. Wish that the sata cable would lock on as can be a bit of a shock ;)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat experience

Pros: Fast drive, received my rebate, Sata III makes a noticeable difference

Cons: Doesn't seem to report temps to my OS (always shows 30C exactly). That could be my lack of knowledge; and the drive always runs cool to the touch, so I'm not worried.

Other Thoughts: I use this with Ubuntu 11.10 (linux). With my old mobo/processor and a SATA II connection boot time after POST was 3 seconds. With an i7-2600k (stock speed) and SATA III, boot time is sub-second.

3 out of 5 eggsFirst time SSD owner

Pros: Easy install and a very fast SSD. Fast boot up and wake up times.

Cons: After about 2 and a half months the drive died. So I re-installed OS on a different HDD and tried to salvage my data of the SSD. It drive could not be seen much less accessed, completely dead.

RMA process took almost a month!

Other Thoughts: Next time I will shop for a different brand.
