Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

  • newegg Built for Speed Corsair’s Force Series GT uses the new SandForce SF-2200 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with ONFI synchronous flash memory. Force Series GT SSDs deliver outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of up to 85K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s. The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music, movie and graphics files.
  • newegg SSD Benifits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg Trim Support The Force Series GT SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg 3.5" Adapter All Force Series GT SSDs are backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s. The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series GT SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

Pros: Very fast SSD, not had a single iota of any problem. Get somewhere around 500-550mb/s speeds, SSD life is till very good even after heavy use as an OS drive with my higher end games on it for 1.5 years. Heavy gaming use. highly recommend.

Pros: New installation, runs Win7, NO PROBLEMS ! Has been running for a year with (did I mention?) NO PROBLEMS !
( I love that part )

Cons: I half expected the prices to come down more by now.
Still waiting.

P.S.- Running a second SSD from Crucial (256g)

1 out of 5 eggsGood Service, bad product

Pros: I purchased this drive 9 months ago. I use it in my audio application for project files. About a month ago, the drive would stop working in the middle of a project. I would reboot and it would run... for a while. I contacted the manufacturer and they allowed me a return with no questions asked.

Cons: They sent me a new drive and I put it in last week. Today it shut down on me. I am doing a major project and cannot afford the down time. I am preparing a movie score and I have already lost an entire piece, which is about 3-4 days work. Now I may have lost another because this drive is obviously inferior. I have 3 other SSDs, one Velocipede and a SATA III drive. The other drives are older, but have not failed. I have more power than I need, so that is not the problem. I will NOT be buying any m ore Corsair drives..... ever.

Other Thoughts: I am totally frustrated as this affects my livelihood

5 out of 5 eggs7.9 on Windows 7

Pros: It's fast, and I've had no issues with performance. Win 7 seems to like it better than my friends Intel SSD.

Cons: Price has not dropped as fast as it should.

5 out of 5 eggshot rod ssd

Pros: yes it is fast ! ...my new acer laptop went from a minute and a half boot up from a dead start to push the power button and your online in 20 seconds flat !

Cons: it's toooo fast , if you got fancy log on screens and pretty pictures to watch while your computer is booting up , your not going to see them anymore !....and I bought the same thing only the next size bigger (the 360GB) and loaned this one to my buddy to play with and he won't give it back !!!

Other Thoughts: just get one , any size, and crawl out of your cave and join the fast guys !
