  • newegg Built for Speed Corsair’s Force Series GT uses the new SandForce SF-2200 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with ONFI synchronous flash memory. Force Series GT SSDs deliver outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of up to 85K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s. The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music, movie and graphics files.
  • newegg SSD Benifits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg Trim Support The Force Series GT SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg 3.5" Adapter All Force Series GT SSDs are backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s. The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series GT SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent drive

Pros: Haven't had any data loss on this SSD in the 2.5 years that I've used it.

Cons: While working on the inside of my case I bumped the SSD (not that hard) and managed to bust the IDE connector plastic piece leaving the gold plated pins exposed. I ended up using inside of my laptop where I could securely connect the SATA/Power without much fear of further damage to the pins.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: I've used it for 2-6 hours a day for ten months. Much of that was gaming and associated updates. No issues.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice drive

Pros: Very fast and silent. There is really noting more to say than that, SSD's are a great leap in computer hardware.

This drive came with the mounting items needed for it to fit in a 3.5" bay perfectly.

Cons: Price... (But we all know that...)

Other Thoughts: My comments on this being an amazing drive is in comparison to a standard HDD. This is the first SSD I have bought. I selected this one based on other good reviews, performance, and price. It was a good balance for what it is.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat at first, even better a year later...

Pros: Fast!
Faster!
Fastest!
Corsair supports their product!

Cons: Likely firmware bug caused random 60-second-long lockups on 2012. But a recent firmware update appears to have solved this.
Corsair support Web site is a little hard to navigate and not as forthcoming as I would have hoped.

Other Thoughts: Ran this on a Thinkpad T60 with Windows 7 64 bit through 2012 into April 2013. It would randomly lock up for 60 seconds at a time a couple times a day. I would take a bio break, and the machine would be just fine.

This month, I wiped the drive, upgraded the firmware to 5.x, and put it in a Thinkpad T530 with Windows 7. It has been flawless. The system moves faster than I can think!

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Wow. Just wow.

Cons: Even with the discount these cost much more than conventional hard drives, but the "pros" above make it worth it!

Other Thoughts: Wow. Just WOW!

5 out of 5 eggsBest upgrade ever!

Pros: Speed and overall improvement in performance is incredible.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Best upgrade ever purchased. Replaced my laptop hard drive with this. Windows loads much much faster. Most surprising was that my Adobe Photoshop and all the other Adobe hogs now open almost instantly. Overall laptop performance has been greatly improved. Impressive!

5 out of 5 eggsFast Fast Fast. Stable Stable Stable.DId I Mention Fast?

Pros: Super fast. Read & Write speeds are ridiculous, up to 300-500mbs a sec. Copying to and from this thing. Using it as my main drive and boot up times are cut to 20-30 seconds. Works awesome with Windows 7 Ultimate. $1 per gig isn't bad considering how great this drive is. Get this drive while you can. Besides me, plenty of other people are jumping on the bandwagon because of all the fantastic reviews.

That's pretty much these reason I purchased it in the first place.

Very happy with my purchase.

Cons: Don't have one. Doesn't do anything bad I can complain about.

Other Thoughts: Worth the money. Best drive I ever purchased to date.

Get's a 7.9 rating on disk transfer rate from Windows 7 Ultimate on the Windows Experience Index which is the highest rating for a hard drive. Buy this thing knowing that this blows away the competition by far. Too many failures with the Intel SSD drives (read all the reviews and heard the Intel SSD drives have issues after 6-12 months).

Corsair Rocks!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: very fast even on SATA2, windows 8 boots in like 10 seconds, no longer have to wait for startup programs to load to open another application.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: will soon be on sata 3 and i cannot wait to see the performance difference again.

5 out of 5 eggsReally Fast!

Pros: Very fast, doesn't bottle neck the system, yet it is still the defining factor on the WEI.

Small, sleek, and sexy. If it wasn't mounted and hidden, it would be gorgeous.

Holds a bunch of games, and Windows 8: boot time is around 20 seconds from pressing the button to desktop.

Cons: Still quite expensive, over a dollar per GB (when I bought it). Look for a sale, these can go for around $150.

Other Thoughts: Don't know what the difference is between the GT and the GS.

Took a look and the only differences are the Max sequential Write is 5MB/s slower on the GT and the 4KB Random Write is 5,000 IOPS less than that of the GS.

I don't know what that small amount would do, but they're around the same prices.

Looking on Corsair's website they market the GT for gaming, saying "Built for speed" and they say the GS is "Speed for the real world"

More research indicates that the GS is the new version of the GTs and goes faster.
