2 out of 5 eggs1 stick was defective

Pros: None

Cons: One stick was defective. I probably got unlucky but can't expect anything when it is on discount.

1 out of 5 eggsThree beeps

Pros: Cheap, got here real fast (props to newegg)

Cons: Dead on arrival. Put into Macbook Pro 15 inch and it did the three beeps, stop for five seconds, three beeps, etc. Didn't work.

Other Thoughts: I just want this to work is all.

1 out of 5 eggsI spoke too soon

Pros: Pretty sticker

Cons: Faulty product

Other Thoughts: I made the mistake of writing the review below before testing the replacement parts. Not only did one of the RAM chips fail after 6 months of light use, the replacement chips were both DOA after I footed the bill for return postage. My mid 2010 21.5" iMac does not boot with either module installed, nor both of them.

Very disappointing, as I paid extra for RAM supposedly labeled as "Mac memory"

3 out of 5 eggsGood value, but prone to defects

Pros: Competitive price, speed

Cons: Reliability

Other Thoughts: Ran this in my iMac for 6 months. However kernel panics recently began and eventually it caused my system to fail (had to restore from time machine as a result). Ran Apple hardware test and memtest and confirmed one RAM chip was bad. Corsair sent me a new set after about 1.5 weeks (after I put up the postage to send it back).

Overall, this is the only time I've had a Corsair product fail on me and they are great about replacing defective units, so I'll still give this 3 stars for great customer service. Having to restore my system was a pain but I keep good backups. I can imagine someone less tech savvy would be much more annoyed.

Hopefully the replacement units will not fail.

1 out of 5 eggsUtter Rubbish

Pros: It showed up after I ordered it (not from here, but this stuff is so bad I am writing a review here too)

Cons: Everything. After installing this garbage RAM my iMac (Mid 2010 3.6GHz i5) wouldn't boot, had kernel panics, etc.

Other Thoughts: Stay FAR away from this RAM

1 out of 5 eggsMemory Problems

Pros: Definitely increased the speed of my iMAC

Cons: Worked for about a week but when i put a heavy load on the system (running high memory applications concurrently), i would experience errors that required a reboot everytime, Memtest immediately caused the same errors.

5 out of 5 eggsEasier than ever expected

Pros: Simply put, it's ram. Apple wanted to charge $200 extra with my Macbook Pro just to install these. I'm so glad I opted for the 4gb at purchase and upgraded later. Apple said they'd charge a hefty fee to install them after purchase, so I saved a good $300+ by doing it myself.

And it was easy! You just screw off the bottom of your Mac, pop open the little ram tray, and slip out the old ones and in the new. My mac discovered them right away and it has been working great, so far. Even if they go out after a year or so, it'd STILL be worth it, but so far they are going strong. I would advise finding a Youtube demo online before you do this yourself. Macbook repair at the Apple Store goes into the hundreds.
