Corsair Performance Pro Series CSSD-P128GBP-BK 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

  • 2.5"
  • 128GB
  • SATA III

Flexible, marvell-based Performance Pro Series SSD drives provide consistent, reliable SATA 6 Gb/s performance in both single-drive and RAID configurations, whether you’re running Windows, OS X, or Linux.

  • newegg Fast reads and writes, regardless of file type With an impressive ATTO Max performance of up to 515MB/s Sequential Read and 440 MB/s Sequential Write, Performance Pro Series solid-state drives offer incredibly fast boot and application load times that will make you wonder why anybody still uses old-fashioned mechanical hard drives. This isn't just limited to files that can be compressed and decompressed on the fly — Performance Pro Series SSDs offer similar performance when reading and writing compressed and non-compressible data. Since serious PC users work with so much compressed data — audio, images, and video files are just a few examples — it's a difference you'll notice every day.
  • newegg SSD Benifits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg TRIM Support The Performance Pro Series SSDs offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command. To learn how to enable TRIM support in Windows 7, visit: http://blog.corsair.com/?p=3468.
  • newegg Built-In Advanced Garbage Collection Performance Pro Series comes with built-in advanced background garbage collection, which automatically uses idle time to optimize data storage, so that disk writes are consistently fast. Thanks to this advanced technology, the Multi-drive RAID Series supports Trim, making it a great choice for RAID arrays. Since this technology is built-in, you'll get strong performance with Mac OS X and Linux as well.
  • newegg 2.5” to 3.5" adapter Included The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Performance Pro Series SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent drive!

Pros: Outstanding drive, actually change to this from a corsair force GT 120gb. This drive is more consistant than my GT with file transfers and overall I am VERY pleased with it! I love to tinker so this was an upgrade most would consider coming from a force GT but the overall average of better performance is awesome!

Cons: Corsair has been very lazy at updating drivers as others have been doing with this same controller. However it is ROCK stable as my force GT was so give them props for that.

5 out of 5 eggsSandForce Eat Your Heart Out!

Pros: On its best day, a top notch SandForce drive can marginally outrun this drive, but on its worst day (meaning incompressible data) SF will fall on its face and this Marell drive doesn't take the performance hit. Worth the money any day. Cloned my HDD Win7 Ultimate install over to it using Norton Ghost, booted up, "df64.exe c: /fsaf" with Defraggler, and now it boots to a usable desktop in around 20 seconds, and that is with a Puny Athlon 250! Document and app loads are instantaneous. I can't wait to see how it performs with the Phenom II 1090T that will be here in a few days!

Cons: We have five dogs and it hasn't bathed a single one of them for me yet.

Other Thoughts: I've been in the IT business for ~20 years, and no single product has ever resulted in such an instant measurable AND seat-of-the-pants improvement. Wow. Just wow.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing SSD

Pros: -Extremely fast.
-Contains high quality premium Toshiba toggle flash.
-Good looking.
-Zero problems with install.

Cons: -None.

Other Thoughts: -Will buy another down the road. This thing is worth the extra dollars over the competition. Read the reviews from the big sites to see why.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive, Fast, No Bluescreens!

Pros: I got this drive back in January and have had 0 problems. The drive preforms well and I have not had a single blue screen from using it.

Corsair sent me my $30 rebate a few days ago, so be patient and check your status online if you are in doubt.

Cons: Price was still kind of high but prices are falling and this is a quality piece of hardware with 3 year warranty. I'm happy.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Product But...

Pros: This drive is a nice drive.. It works well alone and in raid 0 and will give you the speed you crave.

Cons: Stay away from this drive AT ALL COSTS IF you have a raid card.

I purchased 8 of these ssd's for raid 0 and i have been in a world of hurt for the past week trying to get these drives to work.

They utilize a marvell controller and that controller does not play nice with a lot of high end raid cards out there.

I spent $2000 on SSD's and $700 on a raid card to run into nothing but problems and what is the best corsair is willing to do about it?

Shove me aside to the " Ramguy" so he could look into my problem.

This is a known issue and even Micron knows about it and these companies should be working their rear ends off to resolve it with Marvell but alas.... They are giving us the middle finger because they do not have the hardware in their labs to recreate it nor would they want to.

If you have a raid card.. I advise you... Go with some sandforce drives or else you will be sorry =).. Go with the intel 520's.

Other Thoughts: I must say.. I truly expected corsair to want to work with me to resolve this little bug or to get the process pushed along but nope.

What a shame...

4 out of 5 eggsnot worth the money

Pros: apparently better than hard disk drive.

Cons: never reach the speed it stated. sandforce limit the speed very much. I regret that I'd rather go with samsung 830 or crucial M4.

Other Thoughts: for playing game, I can feel difference when alt tab switching. this drive takes about 15-20 secs to switch. my previouse sata II M4 128gb took 1-2 secs. kingston v100 32gb took 1-2 secs. I don't know if it's something else caused the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsbest in class

Pros: superb performance. 2x 128gb easily hit 1800+ in as-ssd.
does not throttle/drop performance when using incompressible data.
a total gem of an ssd.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: i love these. i hope corsair notice what a sweet drive they have on their hands, as their ssd forums are a bit lacking.
