2 out of 5 eggsWould have been nice if all 4 worked

Pros: Corsair is a big name and known for their memory which made them famous. I've only been able to run 2 of these 4 sticks from day 1. Those 2 sticks run great with no issues nice and fast like they are supposed to.

Cons: 2 doa sticks. I had all 4 of these in a AMD sabertooth board and continously bsod'd. The sabertooth would never detect the ram correct and I spent hours googling all the needed memory timings to manually set them up. Even after that I still had bsod's. Now it was single stick time and hours of memtest86 and prime 95. Turns out 2 of the 4 sticks were doa. The bad part was this pc was needed and I couldn't have any downtime so all this testing hurt and now I'm down 8g of ram. I shelfed the 2 bad sticks and turned a sad eye evertime I looked at them as I didn't have any spare ram to swap out for an RMA until recently. So finally after nearly 2 years I'll be sending all 4 sticks back for an RMA and hope I don't get 2 more bad sticks.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Installed this memory in a GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H. Detected without any issues, and ran at 1600 after enabling the XMP. Low profile is nice due to my bulky CPU cooler. Taller heat sinks prevented usage of slot closest to the CPU before.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsLow Profile and fast Timing

Pros: I needed low profile Ram due to the excessive size of my CPU cooler and this stuff works perfectly.

It also has much better timing (Cas Latency) than similar ram.

There were no bad ram chips after doing a ram test of all 4 and a full ram test only took 5 minutes with all 4 quad channels being utilized.

Cons: None that I can think of. I've been using them for a year and have had no problems so far.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome, Speedy

Pros: Very fast, Low Pro fits great in the case even with a large graphics card and cpu cooler

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Works great with my Asus Sabertooth Z77, had no compatibility issues, just needed to adjust speed to 1600 in BIOS

5 out of 5 eggsFast, compact, easy. Buy it.

Pros: - Fast
- Easy to install
- Low profile, but still good head dispersion
- Sturdy feel

Cons: - While I knew I'd have to enable XMMP to get the advertised speed, I didn't know I'd have to manually set the timing as well. A rediculously minor inconvenience, definitely not even a percentage of an eggs worth. IMO more RAM should come with instructions and tips for things like this though for people with less know how.

Other Thoughts: Bought this set for a rebuild of my system (specs below), and installed with no problems on my current board. When dealing with an RMA for the board I had some issues with the RAM on a different Gigabyte board, but I'm 99% sure that was a board problem and not the RAM itself.

The low profile was why I got this particular set over the regular Vengance, and I'm DEFINITELY glad I did. I have a pretty hefty liquid cooler, and it fit with plenty of room to spare. Even if you don't currently have something like that in the way, I'd recommend these over the normal giant fins just in case you ever need the room. It looks and feels very sturdy too.

For people saying that it didn't install at the correct speed, or seeing the same on other RAM modules... that's not a mistake, a flaw, or a problem at all. It just means that you likely don't have XMMP enabled on your mobo. Just enable it, and if neccessary change the speed/timing. I DID have to manually change the timing to 8-8-8-24, which was unexpected. I knew I'd have to enable xmmp to get the correct speed, but I figured timing would be default.

Either way, I enabled it, set my timing to the advertised settings, and overclocked the speed to 1800MHz with 0 problems at all. Running smooth and fast. Bottom line, it's excellent RAM, don't let the stories of config issues deter you, just do some googling and check out hardware forums if you aren't yet familiar with how to do things like enable XMMP or change timing/speed.

My system (current config)
- GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H LGA1155 Z77
- Intel i7 3770k 3.5GHz (OC to 4.5GHz)
- This RAM (Corsair Vengance 16GB @1800MHz)
- CORSAIR Hydro series H50 High Performance CPU Cooler
- SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series 128GB SSD
- WD Black HDD
- Geforce GTX 580

5 out of 5 eggsI like

Pros: Fast, low profile, and fits under a ZALMAN CNPS12X heat sink! Running a Asus Crosshair Formula V with a Zambezi 8150 OC to 4.0 ghz and never go above 52 degrees with full load.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsVroooom!

Pros: Plugged dims in and whammy! Asus UEFI bios picked it automatically @ 1600... dont know what everyone else is talking about... maybe they need a mobo upgrade or a mobo made by a good mobo mfctr, ijs. OC'd to 7, rockin and rollin.

Cons: N O N E

Other Thoughts: Corsair should include free swag like case sticker badges and etc.
