4 out of 5 eggsGreat low profile ram

Pros: Great ram red matches my color scheme. comes 1333mhz stock. like others say go into your bios to manually change to 1866. The low profile is nice. especially with my huge heatsink.

Cons: The enclosure on 2 of my sticks have fallen apart. after awhile it seems they just split down the middle. The first one fell off randomly while my machine was on. landed inside my case made a ton of noise.

despite what people say for some reason i cannot get my motherboard to reconize these sticks at 1866mhz. I have 16gbs of this ram and am forced to use it at 1333mhz. I have a asus sabertooth 990fx board.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly fast RAM

Pros: They are low profile so it won't interfere with any bulky air coolers and don't mess up air flow. Never even got close to 6GB ever even with a browser and Crysis 3 open...

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Your RAM will come defaulted to you at 1333MHz and you need to set the frequency to 1866MHz in your BIOS. I would highly reccomend this product to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat ram

Pros: Great ram, put it thru its paces and never fails. Have heard of heat sink issues, have not encountered any. Recommended buy.

Cons: None that I can justify.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent RAM for the Price

Pros: Low profile heatsink makes this ram able to fit into most any case.
The speeds are quite good, I'm getting a cached read of 3496 MB/s, and a write of 3254 MB/s, which is more than sufficient for my purposes.

Cons: The heatsinks have a very visible split in the middle, and look as if they would come apart very easily. I have had no issues this way, but it is a potential problem.
Not big enough to crack an egg, though. I am very fond of this ram, and am planning on purchasing a second set soon.

Other Thoughts: I had to jump into the BIOS and change the speed from 1333 to 1866 manually. This is a relatively common issue, and you should definitely check that your ram is being recognized at full speed.

5 out of 5 eggsNice design

Pros: Fast, looks like plenty of heat sink.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't really stress my memory or test it much. I put it in my new HTPC and it booted up fine. No issues

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do.

I have been buying Corsair memory for many years on many different builds and they consistently make high quality products.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I am using this in an Ubuntu Server v12.04 file server. I have not tried to overclock it at all. Right out of the box it did what it needs to do.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like it should

Pros: Works perfect. I upgraded form DDR 2 memory so its a huge leap for me. I had to set the speed to 1866 manually, but to be honest that's the way many computers I've built are. I've built well over 200, so its nothing new to me to set the proper speed in the BIOS.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've been to many peoples homes where they ordered a computer, or made one and checked I would double check the hardware. 1 out over 2 places I go the memory is set wrong. It's usually either slower clock speeds, or its not in dual channel. So to those people that are weirded out by having to set the memory manually, trust me its the pretty normal.

3 out of 5 eggsCORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3

Pros: Fit my Asus MoBo, cool looking red heat spreaders

Cons: Don't work as advertised

Other Thoughts: I noticed that my MoBo showed 8 Gb RAM @ 1333 Mhz. Hmm, must just be a default setting, so I'll change it to 1866 Mhz. When I did My PC wouldn't boot anymore, no video, no POST, nothing! Luckily, my MoBo's recover feature saved me, I scaled the mem speed down to 1600 Mhz. It's not the 1866 I'm supposed to have, but it's better than 1333 and my PC is booting..

Manufacturer Response:

Dear PieLam,

We're sorry you're having troubles setting up your system. Please make sure you have the latest BIOS version, make sure that you have sufficient power going into the memory kit, and make sure the timings are set properly. Feel free to contact our Tech Support at 800-205-7657 and we would be delighted to help you get your system set up.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: I bought this for gamming. 8GB of RAM is about all you need for gamming these days and if you need more simply buy 2 of these. I understand a portion of how well this product works is due to my mb, but it is a quality product.

Cons: Most mb's tag it in BIOS as 1333Mhz. simply go into your bios and set it to 1866 and your good to go.

Other Thoughts: I use a gamming rig. If I were to upgrade from 8GB RAM to 16GB, I'll simply buy another set of this ram to fit into the other 2 sockets. It's everything I need.
