1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for my 17 inch Macbook Pro Late 2011 (identifier 8,3) model A1297 (according to MacTracker)

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: Nice sticker. Worked for 5 minutes before the machine issued 3 beeps and flashing LED, then completely shut down.

Cons: I ran a Apple quick diagnostic but nothing came up. Then I checked each Corsair memory module by inserting separately in Bank 0 and 1; Each 8 Gb stick worked in each Bank. But together (16GB) all hell broke loose. Weird colors and 3 beeps then complete shutdown.

Other Thoughts: I could have a bad stick, but I am not taking any chances of damaging my memory banks. It could also be a voltage regulation issue on the MOBO, but I will stick with my old 8 GB Corsair. I did upgrade the stock 4Gb December 2011 with 8 Gb from Corsair. That is what I have been running since then and I have no issues as yet.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: The price was cheap compared to other brands

Cons: Crashes MacMini during heavy processing like video conversion or photoshop editing. Took to Apple store guys told me that they were causing the crashes. Installed my original memory never had the same problem.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad so far

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: The price is much better than anything else you can get for the money from an apple service store or 3rd party. It is very easy to install (if you don't know how look up a 3 min youtube video)

Main point: the upgradable things on mac laptops currently are the RAM and HD, this is cheapest way to increase performance without sending in your mac to be upgraded by some fool or actually apple itself, most apple laptops come with stock samsung RAM, this is much better and more durable, I dislike apple but use it because the case looks pretty and people at starbucks don't think you're poor. This is a good buy - make sure you have the right type as most of apples upgradable parts are proprietary

Cons: Costs more than PC RAM by a long shot

Other Thoughts: Bang for your buck to upgrade your old mac, this is the best

1 out of 5 eggsNot recommended - Two batch Unsuccessful

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: - Warranty honored by manufacturer.

Cons: -This memory started out great, but within 40 days it began to fail. System would hang or crash.
- Warranty return resulted in another pair of bad DIMM.

Other Thoughts: Full Story: Using this memory in late 2011 iMac
This memory worked fine for 40 days. Then, one evening my computer began to hang, and applications would crash. I ran memtest on the memory and it failed immediately. I went to the manufacturer and got an RMA to return the memory for replacement. I was another pair of DIMM's. I promptly installed them and my system would not even boot. It would continuously reboot. At this point, I just hope to get my money back and will go with another brand, or even apple's overpriced ram.

1 out of 5 eggscrashing my iMac

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: crashing my iMac, not worth the money if you working and then all of a sudden your mac resets. :(

Other Thoughts: I had 16GB in my iMac, wanted to expand, I used to buy my ram from different vendor but newegg had good deal on this memory, all was good, ordered it, got it right away, package originally sealed, all perfect, installed it in my iMac and my system recognizes it as 32gb now. All great but every day my iMac crashed after this memory was installed. I thought maybe I did not put it correctly so I did take them out and I did re-seat them back to make sure all connection is good, still no luck, resets and sends core back to apple each time it crashes. Bad when you working on a video or photo or even a document and you lose all the changes because of the crash... Need to return it, so lets start the process.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: Easy, smooth upgrade for my mid-2011 iMac (4x2GB to 2x2GB + 2x8GB). Ran memtest and both modules passed. Previously had Corsair RAM with no problems, so far these continue the trend.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsGreat, when it works

This review is from: CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: Excellent performance boost in my late-2011 MBP for a decent price.

Cons: One module was bad right out of the box - within hours, caused several kernel panics under heavy load and consistently failed Apple Hardware Test. Had to get an RMA, and am now waiting for my replacement.

Other Thoughts: After the failed tests, I read further back in the reviews, and it seems there's a pattern of one of the modules failing. Corsair's quality control leaves a little to be desired. If you purchase this, run an AHT or memtest on it immediately.
