Step Up To Solid-State Speed with Force Series 3

One of the best PC performance investments you can make.

You'll be amazed at the improvement over traditional hard drive access times the first time you turn on your computer, and for virtually everything you do with your PC. System startup, game and application load times, file loading, data transfers, and even shutdown times are all faster.

Your system will be more responsive, and you'll be more productive.

Add up all the time you spend all day waiting for your computer — starting up, loading game levels, saving large files and documents, and just moving data around — and it can be significant.

Using a PC can be a lot more enjoyable when it's not always making you wait.

The power of SATA 3 6Gb/second performance

The SATA 3 connection on the Force Series 3 offers up to 6Gb/s speed vs. SATA 2 drives that top out at 3Gb/s.

Great for the latest high-performance PCs.

There's fast, and then there's fast. Force Series 3 SSDs have even quicker read and write times when they're installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 3 interface.

Compatible with SATA 2 3Gb/s.

Haven't yet moved to SATA 3? Like all Corsair components, Force Series 3 SSDs are designed to last through several system upgrades. Adding a Force Series 3 today means that you'll still get incredible storage performance now, and your SSD will be ready for your next upgrade.

Force Series 3: Get more for less.

Choosing a Force Series 3 SSD helps your computing budget go farther. Powered by the SandForce SF-2200 controller, they deliver outstanding SATA 3 6Gb/s performance, with prices that are comparable to lower-performance SATA 2 3Gb/s solid-state drives.

Corsair SSDs: Designed for Performance and Durability

Corsair SSDs are 2.5" wide, the same size as notebook hard drives. An adapter is included for mounting in standard desktop PC 3.5" drive bays.

TRIM Support

Force Series 3 SSDs feature support for the Windows® 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.

Reliability

Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks.

Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption

Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.

3.5" adapter

The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series 3 SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked fine for 11 months

Pros: It was a fine SSD. No issues while it worked.

Cons: Stopped working after 11 months. This is the first time I've had a negative experience with a Corsair product, and I figured that for $200 I'd be getting more than a year of usability.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Fast and quiet
Big enough for the price

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Not sure why this happens but if you happen to have a marvell chipset that controls your sata ports and your ethernet ports on your motherboard, you might have speed issues with this drive. To remedy this, you have to get a motherboard with a different type of chipset.

Pros: Fast

Cons: Windows 7 freezes.

Other Thoughts: Since I installed it, I noticed that my Windows 7 hangs without a warming which makes computing very frustrating. Will not recommend this product. Time to look for another SSD. :(

2 out of 5 eggsCorsair Force Series 3

Pros: Fast, worked great for six or seven months and no longer $500 for a 240GB SSD? Lets face it only lasted SEVEN MONTHS! I gave an extra star for Corsair RMA in 10 days though still have not received it yet. Except they have had a high failure rate with this drive and I lost some minor information that was not backed up or encrypted.

Cons: I began to trust it until Failed; turned into a brick after about seven months! Now it is a discontinued model, I wonder why? Newer replacement model; another model Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F240GB3A-NB 2.5" 240GB has only four reviews and been only out for four months? I was / am indecisive about doing a RMA and just take the loss; have to hope and trust Corsair shredded any info on drive?

Other Thoughts: Op's I did not set up Encryption on this extra (brick) drive yet; do not make my mistake use Encryption on all SSD's! I was / am indecisive about doing a RMA considered just taking the loss; have to hope and trust Corsair shredded any information on drive? RMA 10 days ago: is good sent out new one today; seem to be sending me the newer model? Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F240GB3A-NB 2.5" 240GB kit has only four reviews and been only out for four months, wish me luck?

1 out of 5 eggsFollow up review

Pros: Quick boot times, loads all programs fast.

Cons: High failure rate, RMA is a nightmare.

Other Thoughts: They tell you that an RMA once recived takes 2 to 4 days in the midwest. Well my first RMA took over 3 weeks. Already on my second RMA now and it has been over 2 weeks plus they told me they would send shipping label since it was the second time i had to rma it well they didnt. I waited 4 days then paid the nine fifty to fed ex it and by the time they got it i still hadnt gotten the shipping label as promised. I use a samsung SSD and it hasnt failed in 18 months so corsair needs to improve on quality and they need to do a house cleaning to get rid of the horriable customer service people that cant keep their word or follow up. COASAIR its time for a house cleaning before your brand name gets run into the dirt and it is half way there now. Too manu good companys to buy from without the hassle and mis truths. Figure the time i spent on phone or emailing them and shipping this drive cost me about 314 dolloars i have a 90 gig that is the same. This company is going downhill fast do yourself a favor and deal with a better company.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Drive but it failed recently

Pros: - Price (I bought this for my job on sale for 144.99)
- Great Write and Read Speeds
- Sata III

The drive felt quality compared to the 20 or so other SSD's my work owns. This was the first Corsair SSD I've ever purchased.

- Nice packaging
- (Did I mention the killer price my work paid)

Cons: Truthfully the only con is that the drive has recently failed. I'm getting ready to file a RMA order. But I purchased this SSD to be one more 240Gb SSD that we use to record ProRes footage to using the BMD Hyperdeck studio. So generally speaking it was having around 240Gb of DATA (filling the drive up) about once a week or so. I used it for about 10 weeks before it broke.

So that means it failed after roughly 2.3TB of writes. Which honestly isn't that heavy of a workload. So I'm assuming I just must have received a lemon out of the batch... Hopefully my replacement will work better.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully the RMA process will be easy, OCZ's process stinks.
