5 out of 5 eggskingston is excellent as usual

Pros: i use this in my shuttle running esx 5.0... runs VM's like a dream. I am using 3 of these in the same machine and the machine is highly responsive.

Cons: i suppose they could have some sort of heat sink, but thats why they call it value ram

5 out of 5 eggs48GB RAM

Pros: Using an Asus Sabertooth X58 mobo, I have 48GB of RAM at my disposal. I get questioned all the time, why I want/need so much RAM. VMWare LOVES memory, and the more memory I can throw at it, the more VMs I can run. I have 4 WD Velociraptors in a stripe to deal with any I/O bottlenecks and all VMs run very smoothly.

Cons: none. can't have cons with 48GB of working RAM!

Other Thoughts: If you have an X58 motherboard with 6 memory slots, I'm 99% sure you can pack 48GB of RAM in it. The memory controller is in the CPU so if you're running that motherboard, you have an LGA-1366 CPU, all of which should be able to handle it.

5 out of 5 eggscorsair vs gskill

Pros: i bought 4 g skill sticks of ram at 4 gig a piece and had problems after 2 days and found that in 64 bit of windows 7 it always would crash when i took them out and went to 32 bit and only used one i had less problems but still problems. so i bought the corsair 8 gig stick, and went back to 64 bit and installed windows all my programs and all of windows updates in less than 3 hours, i plan on buying 3 more of these and enjoying 32 gig of ram.

Cons: havent noticed one issue with the corsair but will never buy another g skill memory again
