2 out of 5 eggsBad DIMMs

Pros: Nice color on red fins? Specs are good.

Cons: Bad DIMMS. Got two memory related BSOD's within a few days of install.

Memtest86+ showed lots of errors. Removed two DIMMS, and re-tested. Clean. To be sure it wasn't the MB, I removed those two that tested good, and swapped in the other pair (same MB slots), and immediately saw memtest errors.

I've RMA'd for a refund, and will order another set. Hopefully, it was just bad luck. Any issues with the replacement, and I'll go with a different kit.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Extremely fast and efficient.

Cons: For air cooled system the cooling fins on this memory are adequate. But their real pain when you need take them off put on watercooled ones.

Other Thoughts: I wish they made watercooled ones from the factory he would save time and energy.

2 out of 5 eggsSounds great: A Quad Matched Pair, Didn't Turn Out Well

Pros: These suckers are NICE. Seriously. The heat sink and external build quality are fantastic. You can even say they are trendy. 8GB DDR3 XMP DIMMS that should give you reliable 32GBs of high speed RAM.

Cons: As a Quad RAM kit these are supposed to be a matched pair of tested RAM that will function without issue in the Intel x79 motherboards, among others. Unfortunately, using the XMP (1866MHz) memory profile yielded SIGNIFICANT numbers of errors under MEMTEST86+ 4.20. Interestingly, the SPD rate of this RAM is 1333MHz, and it ALSO produced errors, just far fewer in number. When compared to the XMP settings of 4 sticks of a competitors 4GB modules, running at 1800MHz, with a LOWER CAS latency, the expense of they modules just doesn't seem to justify them not working. Had I not tested the memory prior to booting the operating system, my core installation would have been corrupted and I would have been hosed. This is not what you expect from Corsair.

Other Thoughts: I'm running a GigaByte G1.Assassin2 X79 based 4 DIMM slot motherboard. Most X79 motherboards are known to be temperamental, and this one doesn't appear to be any different. However, since I can easily get Crucial DIMMS with CAS of 8 to run using XMP in this board, which had a default speed of 1600 using SPD... I'm a little shocked with the results here. The Dominator sticks were v3.3.x.

5 out of 5 eggsthe best ram you could buy

Pros: Beautiful heatsinks, red color matched my Asus Rampage IV Gene motherboard. There is a subtle difference between the heatsinks of the other dominatior ram and these: each fin has three breaks in in rather than having one uninterrupted piece of metal.. This allows for greater dissipation of heat by maximizing the surface area accessible to the circulating are currents. Although this is not listed anywhere I found that it a nice feature when one is overclocking which these do easily.

Cons: Could only be better if these came with liquid cooling heatsinks but no one makes those anymore

Other Thoughts: XMP is a convenient feature for those who want these to 'just work' at the advertised speeds.

These feel well made and if you can afford these they are worth every penny

5 out of 5 eggsKick In Lay'm down memory

Pros: Clicked right in place easy. OC'd easy. Very very stable sticks.
Heat spreaders are placed well and have options for change-out/upgrade later.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using mostly for Hyper-V virtualization for development purposes. Running small 6 (so far) VMs SharePoint farm with no problems. This memory is on MB QVL and as previous contributor posted - man there's something to this QVL thing.

- ASUS P8Z77
- Intel i7 Sandybridge 2700
- Corsair Dominator GT 32GB
- CoolMaster RS-850

5 out of 5 eggsWorks- but not with Windows7 Home Premmium

Pros: Works great, easy to install.

Cons: Windows 7 home premium only can use 16 of the 32 GB. That's not Corsair's fault, so they still get 5 eggs. But make sure to buy an OS that can use all 32 GB.
