3 out of 5 eggsBurned after 6 months at factory speeds

Pros: Fast, Looks, American, Corsair, Fast, Fast, did I mention fast? Great customer service too!

Cons: Burned after 6 months with BIOS set to stock timings and frequency.

Other Thoughts: This is a follow up to my review of the same name posted on 10/6/2013.

I managed to burn out these sticks of ram under some heavy use. Mostly gaming and solidworks/CAD applications. I think they got too hot and the IC's just melted. Luckily, this issue got me to realize the WiFi driver and PCI card I had weren't compatible along with the Blu-Ray drive I had installed but after that, I finally pulled well over 700,000 errors on these sticks with memtest86 v5.0 and got them RMA'd through Corsair. Quick and painless except for the downtime of my system. Props to Corsair on their wonderfully simple and fast RMA process!

I clocked them in my BIOS to factory timings and frequency. I guess 6 months of good use at factory settings was too much.

Otherwise good stuff, real quick, I like. Is nice.

I might go for some Dominator Platinum gaming grade stuff that comes with the little fan circulator attachment if I burn out my replacement sticks in about 6 months again.

3 out of 5 eggsTimings Are Off

Pros: Was the memory the Motherboard said would work, But only loads up as 1333mhz not the 1866mhz

Cons: Just that the timings are off. And unsure how to set them. Guess I will have to look into how to change it later

Other Thoughts: none

5 out of 5 eggsZero errors, solid

Pros: Ran memtest on an amd system and intel system. Ram had zero errors for asus sabertooth 990fx r2 and for asus z87 pro mobo. It is shown as 1333 mhz in bios but 1800 mhz in asus monitor programs.

Video editing is a breeze, the most I've seen used was 8 gb/s

Cons: none for now

5 out of 5 eggsGet 8GB sticks it will save you later

Pros: 8GB sticks are great. Run and stated speeds with zero stability or compatibility issues.

Get 8GB sticks so that upgrading to a full 32GB is possible. Then use a RAMDisk for HDD cache or install your favorite game on it for instant loading.

Cons: My Z77 motherboard didn't detect the right settings for the RAM automatically. May be a missed function of the motherboard or the RAM.

Other Thoughts: BIOS sets these to 1333Mhz on auto. Switch it to XMP settings and it configures properly.

Haven't overclocked them yet so no comments on stability.

Glad I picked these up when I did seems like the price is more than double now. Is it the China plant fire? Ramping down of DDR3 to prepare for DDR4 or what.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bargain

Pros: Super Fast, Looks Cool, Corsair

Cons: Not sure if I have to change speed in the BIOS but it's running at 1333MHz instead of 1866MHz.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the speed thing, it's fantastic. I'd have to see if the board downrates the speed from the BIOS or not but it's quick and works great. Standard Corsair product.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Ram, doesn't like AMD CPU or AMD MOBO not sure which

Pros: Ram is good, XMP is nice to have if your an intel user

Cons: Doesn't play well with Biostar AMD MOBO/CPU. Couldn't widdle it down to figure out which it was that was the culprit however, when I bought the ram, weeks after having my machine up and running played games like BF3 and other ram intensive games errors and BSODS began to show themselves. I'm assuming its good ram but its compatability is overadvertised because its claimed to work with both CPU manufacturers.

Other Thoughts: Take my word for it, only use it if you have intel because troubleshooting memory related issues is EXTREMELY time consuming when comparing trouble shooting to other computer components.

5 out of 5 eggsFast RAM!

Pros: Lots of RAM and it is fast! Corsair is known for making great RAM, and this one is no exception.

Cons: None as of now

Other Thoughts: I got this RAM before prices started skyrocketing (I got it when it was $100.) So while I can say that it is good memory, I cannot say that I would pay $150 for the same stick.

5 out of 5 eggshot Dam

Pros: 16 gb
fits my Sabertooth mobo scheme perfect with the heatsink looks and color.
easy install mobo seen and configed with no problems.
the Sabertooth and Vengeance work and look great together.

Cons: haft to wait 3 months before I can get the next set although 16 gig is more than enough.

Other Thoughts: this is a good setup for all who want more memory and do some over clock or none.
unless you over clock with the big dogs you dont need the Domminator's

This fits the looks of asus Sabertooth Z77 mobo perfectly

If you are going to only get 16 gig and be done with it get the 4x4 sticks for performance and to fill out the 4 slots and looks better than just the 2
