This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: They look so cool it's almost a shame to have them hidden in the case.

Cons: No issues in 3 years. That's really all i expect from RAM

Other Thoughts: I somehow felt like a ninja popping these in.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair 1866/9

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: All the systems I put these in recognize it right away without a BIOS upgrade. They take overclocking well and remain stable. All my Corsair products have performed predictably and consistently without destabilizing, arriving DOA, or being overpriced GlamRam with LEDs or bright colors. If you're system building and you want a tank these are what you use.

Cons: Some of Corsair's product ships with a RAM fan. It's not the quietest thing on earth and the bearings need to be oiled every couple of months with something like light machine oil, or they start buzzing. I use sewing machine oil for this, and it seems to work out pretty well.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a horse.

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: I have been running this RAM almost continually 24/7 for 2 1/2 years. It is still running like a dream. I rarely shut my computer off and use it for everything. That includes games, video editing and every day use. Have not had one problem with this RAM.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything I wanted

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: This is really good overclockable RAM. Considering the price difference is so small, there's no good reason to get 1333 AT ALL, and 1866 is just a little bit better than 1600.

Cons: You need to make sure your BIOS is running it as 1866. Mine defaults it at 1600 unless I tell it otherwise.

Other Thoughts: Remember, you can access the RAM you have faster if you have more sticks. When I was a novice, I thought it better to get two 4GB sticks than four 2GB sticks because I could upgrade my RAM latter by just buying two more 4GB sticks rather than replacing all of them. But if you have 4 slots, you want to fill them all. The total amount of space only matters if you try to use too much at once. For anything under that, speed has to do with how fast you're accessing that RAM. 1333 MHz is way slower than 1866MHz (obviously), but having four sticks is kinda like the RAM equivalent to a quad-core processor instead of a dual-core (sorta). Anyway, the point is you ought to fill out all your slots if you want to do things quickly.

2 out of 5 eggsFast when it works

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: Fast when it works

Cons: Fail after a year of usage.
Stock clock 1333 instead of 1886 as advertised.

Other Thoughts: After owning this ram for little over a year I finally able to say that this set of memory stick doesn't delivery, on an average it crash my system every 2 months (BSoD), and till recently my motherboard just complete give up booting my PC. That being said, I swapped out the Ram from the PC i built for my mom, my system boot up fine. I have the latest bio for my Sabertooth Z77 motherboard, and I tested every component,

3 out of 5 eggsWon't go to advertised clock speed

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: Nice pair. Run Nice

Cons: Obviously, from what most of you guys have read, the sticks ship stock as 1333. The issue I am having is whenever I try to OC the RAM up to the 1866, my computer crashs before hitting bios. I've tried using the XMP profiles, I tried manually entering all of the timings, I tried changing the voltage up to 1.65, I tried everything. So for right now it is stuck at 1333 even though I paid for the 1866 speed.

Other Thoughts: Build:

Motherboard: BioStar Z87x 3D
CPU: Intel i5 4670k 3.4ghz quad-core
Hard Drive: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB SSD
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX770 WindForce
PSU: ThermalTake TR2 500w

2 out of 5 eggsBad module

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: Works

Cons: Too many sticks from Corsair have bad memory blocks. The sticks have lifetime warranty, but the customer service website is buggy to the point of being unusable and they don't have 24/7 customer support over the phone. Just know you are part of the quality control team.

Other Thoughts: I have a 4GB pair (8GB) that has worked great for years. Just don't for get to mem86 your sticks as soon as you install them.
