1 out of 5 eggsVery slow access time

Pros: Slider, Corsair, look

Cons: Slow access time, buggy, huge size for a usb drive, write speed?

Other Thoughts: I simply can't work on it, the access time is terrible (3-4 seconds to respond) and write speed isn't what you think. Sometimes, I have a doubt: is this USB 3.0?

3 out of 5 eggsOdd but effective slider

Pros: Very fast reads, comparable to native SATA drive-to-drive for large files. Not quite as fast for multiple smaller files (as expected) but still very respectable.

Sliding mechanism is very straigtforward (actually there is no 'mechanism' at all, you simply slide the plug forward to open), but different enough from most other drives that it doesn't seem enough at first.

Cons: Write speeds not as fast as many other USB3 thumb drives. I couldn't manage more than 19.5 MB/s; on par with the fastest USB2 drives (and faster than most USB2 devices), but not as fast as I would expect from a USB3 device.

Other Thoughts: On the first couple of uses, I was concerned that the drive would 'collapse closed' when inserted. There is no click or tab to engage to lock it open, which seemed less-than-ideal.

In use though, this isn't a problem. It's as secure as any other slider, without any extra steps or a removable cap to deal with. A clever bit of engineering, actually.

As expected, it's a bit bulkier than most USB2 drives. That bulk buys you a theoretically faster controller, but not the write speeds several other USB3 drives deliver - minus 2 stars for that.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast drive, however I was hoping the write speed would be a bit faster. Still blows my older USB 2.0 flash drives out of the water

Cons: Wish the write speed was faster, however still incredibly fast compared to USB2

Other Thoughts: Its a bit big, and the slide out style has no 'lock', so if you are trying to shove this in a USB3 port on the back of your pc you must not hold the collapsible cover.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Works well. Looks good. Well made and seems pretty durable. Nice price point/performance for entry into USB 3.0 sticks. As a previous reviewer mentioned you even get good speeds on this thing with USB 2.0 ports.

Cons: I don't have anything to complain about here. Drive works well.

Other Thoughts: I get the same 50MB read/ 20MB write as a previous reviewer. I tested this drive on 3 different USB ports.
A card reader with USB 3.0 slot(connected to a PCI USB 3.0 add on card) that I just installed gets the 50/20 I mentioned. I also tested it on a USB 2.0 slot on my front panel and a USB 2.0 slot on my laptop. I get 18MB write/and 24.5MB read on my laptop and 19MB write/ 31.6MB read on the USB 2.0 front panel. These are much better speeds than I get with the USB 2.0 sticks I am used to using.

The only other thought I have about this USB stick is if the read speeds could go any higher... I built my PC a few years ago and I recently upgraded some stuff, uncluding adding a Syba PCIe to USB 3.0 controller card, so my MoBo isn't native USB 3.0. There are no other USB 3 native PC's in my house so I have nothing to compare it on.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Speeds are as advertised, on my system they are actually slightly better. This drive is perfect to have a Linux installed on to troubleshoot multiple computers since it also does USB 2.0 as well.

Cons: Coming from a USB drive about the size of a fingernail, this is a little bulky. I knew this before I bought it, so no eggs off for that obviously.

Other Thoughts: I'll never use another USB 2.0 drive to a portable Linux drive. Even when installed in a USB 2.0 port, it is faster then just a plain USB 2.0 drive.

Also Very easy to install (Arch) Linux onto. Select as a Hard Drive, and USB modules in kernel INIT, tweak system as a SSD, and done!

4 out of 5 eggsSlider Turtle

Pros: Slider Down

The slider is good. Drive is solid. ATTO and Flash Drive Tester give only 50 MB/s read, but do give 20 MB/s write. This is the 2nd out of 5 Corsair drives that fall short on tests. Real world test I transfered 2.35 GB mixed files from hard drive to it in 5 minutes 22 seconds. About right for it's price point, but not exceptional. I got it so I would have one drive without a cap to lose. The rubber on sides helps getting a grip. LED

light is evident.

Cons: Not pretty. I like bright colors:) Just the read speed being a significant percent low.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm satisfied because of all the plus features.
