5 out of 5 eggsMakes my A8 APU scream

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: running it at 2133mhz and happy. also had my latencies quite a bit tighter than the XMP 2133mhz presets at one point. I dont remember the specifics though.
1.5v, better for the environment.

Cons: Big heatsinks which are pretty annoying. Im bored of the look of these; now im into the low profile, classy looking ones.

Other Thoughts: not the cheapest and probably not the best, but not a bad buy by any means.

4 out of 5 eggsGood enough

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: Stable at 1866MHz, 9-9-9-24-1T

Cons: Not stable at 2133MHz, 11-11-11-27

Other Thoughts: The lower clock with tighter timings is good enough for me (bought it on sale, so for the money at those speeds it was still a good buy).

5 out of 5 eggsRuns great on Vishera

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: After finding out they were running in single channel (D'oh), these sticks run like a champ at the rated timings.

Cons: Just make sure you have them in the right slots on your board, they refused to go anywhere above 1600 mhz when in single-channel mode

Other Thoughts: Running these on a ga-990fxa-ud5 with an FX-8320 processor.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING RAM!!!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: It looks good and is very stable at 2133mhz (i have no clue what the people who say its not are talking about) but mine has ran at 2133 since it was installed in my ivy bridge rig. it doesn't really ever get warm and I have to really try to use a ram intensive if i want to even get above 75 percent usage

Cons: none, although I was originally worried that 8gb wouldn't be enough for video editing and what not but it works really well!

Other Thoughts: 8gb will most likely be enough especially at 2133. I might get another kit just to have the badassery of 16gb in my case.

2 out of 5 eggsAddendum to earlier review

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: See earlier review

Cons: I just wanted to add to my review that this morning my computer froze and I got "Overclocking failed!" on the RAM. Again. The RAM was only running at 1600 this time, which Corsair said should be fine on my setup.

So I decided to dial it down to 1333. Seriously? I paid for 2133 and I get 1333. That's awesome.

Other Thoughts: After working with Corsair for about an hour, we decided to do an RMA with them, where they will send us quad-channel RAM that's supposed to actually work at 2133 and then we send the old RAM back.

The agent said that there was nothing wrong with the RAM, but that it was a configuration issue. I'm sorry, but if 2133 RAM can only run at 1333...that's a problem with the RAM.

At any rate, Corsair is supposed to be sending us RAM that actually works with our setup (we are paying for the difference in price though). Shame we had to go through all this hassle to get stable RAM, though.

2 out of 5 eggsWant to run it at 2133? Forget it!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: They look cool.

Cons: They absolutely REFUSE to stay stable overclocked at 2133 on an ASUS P7P55D LE motherboard with a Core i7 3930K processor. They don't even stay stable at 1866. We have two machines built with the same hardware, and they are both having the same problem: random reboots, "Overclocking failed!" in the BIOS (even at 1866 which isn't an overclock on the board), all that good stuff.

I called Corsair support about it and they told me that it was because I was using "too many memory modules". So apparently, a board that's designed to handle 8 DIMMs of 64GB RAM at 2400 can't handle 8 DIMMs of 32GB RAM at 1866. That makes total sense, right? (Sarcasm, in case you can't tell.)

I'm still on the phone with Corsair and I miiight be able to trade them for quad-channel modules...but I don't have my hopes up. If you want an X79 board, look to another module; this one is just too unstable.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: Works great. Running at 2133.

Cons: Had to enter BIOS to manually bump them from 1866 to 2133 but that's not really even a hassle.

2 out of 5 eggsDoesn't run full speed on my setup

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11B

Pros: Runs @ 1600 stable and well
Looks pretty nice in case

Cons: Does not run @ 2133 with the latest BIOS and XMP Profile on a ASRock Z77 Motherboard. Crashes to blue screen when on the profile. Have to switch it down to 1600 to get it stable on the board.

Other Thoughts: It didn't cost much more or any more than the 1600 version so it wasn't a big deal, but with my setup it didn't work @ 2133. It was disappointing.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry you're having trouble getting the kit running at the right speeds. Please contact us at http://www.corsair.com/en/support/ and we'll be more than delighted to help you get your system running at the right speeds.

Thank you,
