2 out of 5 eggsDefective

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: Fins on defective DIMM module may be useful for self defense.

Cons: One of the four modules was defective from day one. Resulted in random crashes and disk corruption. Finally isolated it using memtest86.

Other Thoughts: Will avoid Crucial in the future.

3 out of 5 eggs3/4 ain't bad..

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: Once I isolated the defective memory module, my system is fast and stable.

Cons: New build was unreliable, with random data corruption and crashing hard every few weeks. Finally, cycled DIMMs individually through memcheck86 and found one module was bad, consistently failing memory tests. I'll choose a different brand of RAM in my next system.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

5 out of 5 eggsLots of memory

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: Gives lots of working RAM memory. Snaps in, works well.

Cons: The heat sink fins are tall off the motherboard and a cooling fan had to be relocated, but not a big deal. The BIOS initially reported the memory as 1333MHz, but when I set the BIOS to use XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile data in the memory cards), the speed was corrected to 1600MHz, and again no big deal.

Other Thoughts: When I got this memory, from reading other helpful Newegg reviews, I knew many BIOS report the speed of the memory incorrectly at 1333MHz, and I may have had to manually set the BIOS to use a memory speed of 1600MHz. However, setting the BIOS to look at the XMP data in the memory cards fixed the speed problem automatically.

For the extra height issue with the heat sink fins, I knew to get a CPU cooler that wouldn't collide with the taller memory. Having to re-position a cooling fan was unexpected, and indicated a lack of planning on my part, but was a minor inconvenience.

I like Corsair memory and have found them to be reliable over the years. I hope to get their 128GB DDR4 cards in the future, but that is in a few more years. I am now enjoying the system speed from my new 32GB memory, instead of waiting and wishing.

4 out of 5 eggsAhem

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: When you get it working, it runs perfectly and has yet to overheat even when doing ALOT of things at once. As expected from 32gb of RAM.

Cons: Just like a reviewer below, the motherboard recognized the RAM as 1333 instead of 1600 speed. I talked with an IT guy I know and he says he's never heard of such a thing. I had my mobo set to recognize 1600 like this product supposedly is and like my last set was. I'll update another time but this is mind boggling in my professional opinion.

1 out of 5 eggsThe ram

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: It looks really cool.
I like the packaging and the built in heat sink.

Cons: Did not work. was DOA.
After installing, the computer would not power on. just cycled on -off every couple of seconds.

was able to get power stable with only 2 of the 4 sticks.
any time the two defective sticks were installed power would not stay on.

Other Thoughts: I have used corsair in the past, normally a good brand.
Newegg, has offered to refund my purchase for this item after I filled out an RMA. - I will be buying another brand besides corsair.

4 out of 5 eggsnice to have 32 GB BUT......

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: Was nice to see 32 gb of ram on my system display and bios. Was easy to install and thankfully i didn't block myself out when i installed my Gemini II S524 cpu cooler. Popped the 16 gb out dropped the 32 gb in all done.....or so I thought.....

Cons: Here's were the fun began. After installing it i came to realization something was amiss. I went to my bios and low and behold i was right. The RAM was clocking at 1333Mhz. WRONG ANSWER!!!! So as I had never develed in my BIOS before I decided to snoop around. Found the RAM section in my BIOS and raised the bar to 1600MHZ. ALL BETTER!!!! I shouldn't have to do this Corsair. Big let down. Bet my 16 GB was running at 1333 also. WHY????

Other Thoughts: Like said in the pros. Easy to take out( I had 16gb of corsair mem before this) and definatly easy to drop in. Nice thing about most RAM easiest upgrade you can do to a PC.

Like the heat spreaders on these but next time I'm probably going with G.Skill for my next build.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price Awesome Deal!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: It's memory, so it was easy to install, I checked the compatibility of this with the Sabertooth Z77 ASUS board prior to purchasing, and found that it was compatible. 32GB of memory, maxed out the board, and so far, nothing I have thrown at has maxed out the memory. SWTOR, STO, WoT, everything set to high or ultra graphics, BD ripping, 70GB network transfers, havent broken the 8GB threshold yet.

Cons: None that I have come across yet.

Other Thoughts: Good product, great look to it, serial numbers on each stick would make it easy to RMA if needed. However, happy to have this in my new system.

5 out of 5 eggsRemember to adjust the speed

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

Pros: Good price/density
works well so far

Cons: auto-detected speed - as a previous reviewer noted, the motherboard detected 1333 RAM, but is still running fine when manually set to 1600. I'm using an Asus P8Z77-V. Shouldn't be a problem as long as you remember to make this change anytime you reset the BIOS settings
