5 out of 5 eggsHad for 3 years, still going strong!

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: I've had this hard drive since November of 2012, been working perfectly for 3 years during this writing of this review. Couldn't be happier! Excellent performance and well worth the money. Research into a reliable SSD was well worth the time!

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsBelly-up after 16 months

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: Was very fast. Bought to house my Steam library - esp. Skyrim - to reduce load times between screens. Worked great for that.

Cons: Went to bed one night, all was well. Woke up the next morning, it wasn't recognized by the system. I can't troubleshoot something that doesn't even show up :(

Other Thoughts: I might be blind, but I'm not seeing the Corsair warranty info. I submitted a ticket, we'll see what comes of it.

1 out of 5 eggsIf you want a drive that raises your blood pressure, look no further

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: Red is a pretty color

Cons: Fresh install of Windows 7 would not stop crashing. All other hardware is in fine working condition.

Other Thoughts: I received this drive as a replacement for a faulty Neutron SSD. This drive worked great for about 10 minutes. Reinstalled Windows and I couldn't even click on the Start button without it crashing. Keep in mind that this was a fresh, vanilla, install. I will NEVER purchase or recommend another Corsair product ever again.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome SSD

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: I've had this 240 gb Corsair Force SSD for almost a year now, and has the same speeds and dependability since I took it out of the box, its out performed and outlasted every other SSD I've bought.
Buying it at $145 was a definite steal, I would buy another even if it wasn't that cheap.

Cons: None really,
Only problem was that I couldn't find it when I first installed it but that was my BIOS fault. So no cons.

Other Thoughts: Corsair makes solid components.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 7 months

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: was good when it worked

Cons: luckily I backed up my drive regularly. And had a mirrored drive just incase this one failed, which it did.

Other Thoughts: I ordered an Intel drive , I hope this one last more than 7 months

5 out of 5 eggsVery solid/reliable performing Drive

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: Very fast drive, easy to install, small footprint, no heat, No noise

Cons: Price, considering there are no moving parts to manufacture one would think ( common sense) that after the research and development is done and the final product goes to base assembly these units would be much cheaper than mechanical drives. I guess we pay for technology. I feel sorry for the assembly crew that gets paid 20 bucks a week to manufacture these drives but that is a much different review.

Other Thoughts: I believe these drives are the upper class of most SSD on the market, my customers love them ( most of them high end gamers) My customers can install and be playing games much quicker than any system using a mechanical Drive. Make sure you set up you motherboard correctly in order to get the full capabilities of an SSD. Google SSD motherboard setup, you'll find many sights to aid in the confusion.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: When it works it works well.

Cons: Stopped working completely after about 2 weeks... Luckily I was able to contact the manufacturer and they were reasonably willing to replace it. The replacement has been working fine for the last year and a half.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd Corsair SSD, seconnd failure

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: Fast

Cons: Unreliable

Other Thoughts: OK, so this is my second Corsair hard drive purchase for a customer. This one was installed into a high-end Dell Precision as the C: drive/OS drive, and a standard hard drive was setup for the D: or data drive. After I had installed this one, I got calls from the first customer I set one of these up for, and they were having lockups. So I've been wondering about this one. Well, today it died a painful death, and we cannot boot this computer. BIOS won't see it, my laptop won't see it as a USB drive (with connector). As I write this, I'm praying that a mirror restore will work to a standard hard drive for this customer. I've setup an RMA, but it will do me no good as I now have no confidence in these drives and will not even consider putting the replacement back into production. I've bought OCZ and Samsung SSD's for customers, and those are all working fine, and are over a year old. Neither of these Corsairs are over one year old. Stay away. I really like Corsair's products over all, but will NEVER buy another SSD from them again.

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: Its a ssd so if your buying one you know they all work pretty quick. This one was no different and very fast.

Cons: So ive had it for about 4 months now i think and its starting not to be recognized by my PC. The only way i can get it to reconnect is to keep restarting in the hope it will eventually connect. It does to after very random amount of times. From once to up to a bunch of times. Obviously a sign of a failing drive. I have 13 PC's all with Kingston hyperx 240's in em and they hum along no problem for the last 1.5 years. Im so dissappointed in this SSD. The first time i stray away from what works and i buy a poor product.

Other Thoughts: Expected so much more from a company like Corsair. This drive will hurt their reputation.

1 out of 5 eggs13.1 GB I ordered 240..?

This review is from: Corsair Force Series GS 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBGS-BK

Pros: it connected really easy....

Cons: Really??? 240GB was not even registering.... 13.1 gigs is what the computer is saying this drives capacity is....

Other Thoughts: really annoying when you think you're about to upgrade your HD and you find out this disc is unreliable right out of the package... a little worried for the long hall on this one...
