3 out of 5 eggsHit and Miss

Pros: USB 3 is wicked fast compared to USB 2. Huge amount of space for a thumb drive. Nearly indestructable.

Cons: Finicky. Nearly every time I plug this thing into a computer it thinks it has been corrupted, so to get rid of the alert have to check the drive. Sometimes the drive doesn't work at all. Usually removing the drive and re-inserting it a couple times will make it work, but it's still annoying. I have two drives and they both act this way. I've tried the drives on everything from a desktop to a server rack to a chromebook. Drive flat out doesn't work on some computers I've triedit in.

Other Thoughts: When it works, it's awesome. When it doesn't work, I want to punch babies!

5 out of 5 eggsLove the Survivor line

Pros: I love the Corsair Survivor line. Sure this may not be the fastest drive out there but I don't have to worry about it being broke when I need it.

This is my third Survivor drive. I started with 8GB, went to 16GB and now 64GB. All three drives work fine, I just needed the extra space.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Before buying Survivor drives I was always replacing my flash drives. I carry them around in my pocket and they'd either get broken or go through the wash. My Survivor drives have all been accidently washed and suffered no problems.

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg using Mail Innovations, you just lost a customer

Pros: Probably a good product, but since Newegg has decided to start shipping via Mail Innovations, NO tracking data was available until almost a week later, NO package has been received, and it is now TWO days after the delivery date and still no product.

Cons: Mail Innovations. If you had told me during the checkout that you would be using this service I would have opted for other shipping arrangements or bought it from another retailer.

Other Thoughts: If you want to keep other customers from going to other retailers, you should cease your relationship with Mail Innovations. I will be deleting my account once the product arrives, if it ever arrives. I may be coming back to you as I haven't decided if I will return it or not.

4 out of 5 eggsAt First, I Thought It Was Broken...

Pros: First off: Corsair. 'Nuff said.

To add, it is very rugged and has tons of storage space.

It also was instantly recognized on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit PC and properly named "Corsair."

Using USB 3.0 and writing large files, it reached an average of 65MBps. Although, it would also frequently slow to around 40MBps and then pick back up.

I can't say much for read speeds, as I don't much care to test it; but it SEEMS pretty quick to me. I just wanted a large storage drive that was durable enough for a deployment (I'll update this when I get back next year).

Cons: Much larger than expected. Definitely not going to be utilizing it on my key ring as I originally wanted to do. I could, but it's just too bulky.

It SCREAMS when you screw and unscrew the casing. I'm assuming that will die down with use, when the aluminum wears in.

The actual USB head is slightly lose. It wiggles. It isn't one, stiff piece... almost as if the aluminum housing was built around it, instead of being a portion of the drive.

No manual - Most people will say, "Why would you need a manual? Just stick it in the hole!" (explanation follows)

Other Thoughts: Now, this is entirely on me; but I thought I should mention this:

If the first thing you try to do is move a file from your PC to this USB drive that is over 4GB in size and it tells you there is not enough space on the flash drive and you flip your desk in an angered confusion, relax... it just needs to be reformatted properly. This is where some form of small manual or quick reference guide would have been nice. I thought it was broken. It moved other files just fine. It wasn't until I noticed all of the files I couldn't copy to the drive were 4+GB in size when I saw a pattern and decided to research. I had no clue about the differences in FAT, FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS; nor did I know what "allocation unit size" meant. This flash drive comes default in exFAT with an allocation of 128kilobytes. You'll need to increase that allocation to an appropriate size. I chose 4096kilobytes. Now I can move 4+GB files to the drive. Google it for further information. Hope this helps!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Installed itself, took 40G of files in one transfer, big, small, everything. I use this for file backup and keep it in my safe. Won't get crushed with all the other junk I have in there.

Cons: I put a little silicone lube on the threads with a q-tip to quell the squeaking when spinning the cover.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tested it on 3.0 yet but it worked fine on 2.0. I have a 16G Corsair that has been used for years and years, hopefully this will pass the test of time as well.
