1 out of 5 eggsUnacceptable performance

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: None

Cons: I could not get this flash key to work for x64 versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1.

On every machine I tried using this flash key, the device was not properly recognized by Windows. On some machines it would "connect", but I could not read/write any files to the device.

Other Thoughts: I would award negative stars to this Corsair 128 GB USB 3.0 flash key if it were possible. Flash keys are expected to work without hassle. If this is a driver/firmware issue, then shame on Corsair for doing such a sloppy job.

What's worse, I bought a 32 GB Corsair USB 3.0 flash key which is exhibiting the exact same issues. I'm really disappointed. I own 2 other USB 2.0 Corsair flash keys, and those continue to work very well. But Corsair's USB 3.0 flash keys are awful.

And, I thought it couldn't get any worse. But it did. I tried calling customer support and tech support to get these issues resolved. When I reached customer support (after waiting 30 minutes on hold), they told me to call tech support because they couldn't do anything for me. When I called the tech support line, there was no one available. There was only a pre-recorded message saying something to the effect of "We're terribly sorry but there is no one available to take your call. Please leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.". Really??? Unbelievable!

Don't waste your time or money on this product like I did.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: Fast, Large Capacity

Cons: This drive works at first, but it will fail after a short time. Search for other who have similar experiences. As far as a flash drive it is worthless. Flash drives have to be reliable. I am not able to get my information off the drive.

Other Thoughts: Avoid Corsair products until they fix their quality control & stop defrauding their customers with faulty products.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after less than a year

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: While it was working, high capacity and fast.

Cons: Now it's half-dead. It's readable but not writeable. Since Windows 7 apparently tries to write to it when mounting, I can't use it on Windows at all. On Linux it mounts and is readable, but any write causes an I/O error and the device goes off-line.

Other Thoughts: This item wasn't cheap. I hardly used it until recently when I badly needed the capacity and speed. Now it's dead and I can't RMA it?
In future I'll look at Samsung and buy smaller units that I can afford to toss if/when they go toes-up.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: enough room for light duty usage, fairly fast vs usb 2.0

Cons: device failed after 10 months. Formatted as NTFS drive, I only used this flash drive for files transferring , the total read/write hours on this driver was less than 10 hours but it still failed. No computer can recognize it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for Me

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: I like casing, size and capacity. Works normal for me. I have 4 of these types, some aren't GT, just normal 2.0 drives at 16 GB and 4 GB and whatnot, they all work normal and have been reliable. I wouldn't buy this with such bad feedback if I hadn't had such great success with them in the past. I really think it deserves more positive Eggs, but we'll see.

Cons: None Yet.

Other Thoughts: I stress tested and no problems yet. Will let you know if something happens worth posting. On one of my original USB 2.0 16 GB drives, the memory board came out of the casing. sent it back, and they super glued it back in. Nothing like getting that back like that. This one, none so far.

1 out of 5 eggsFast but faulty

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: This drive has a ton of room for storing everything from movies to games to backups and can do so incredibly fast, both read and write. This was during the few times it has actually let me transfer anything to it.

Cons: I'm actually on my second of these drives, as immediately after I reformatted the first drive to exFAT (to store large .ISO & video files), it would not even be recognized as having any storage space by my laptop (Windows 7). I requested an RMA and after a few weeks received a replacement. I tested this one by transferring files to and from it (~100GB) and testing it with PC Disk Clone, where I got very high speeds. I then formatted it to exFAT and successfully ran the same tests. However, a few weeks after I did this, it started having errors like not being recognized as a disk. I have basically not used it since getting it over a year and a half ago, but now need to transfer a lot of data from my sister's crashed laptop to her new one. However, the drive won't let me delete any of the old files in order to make space for my sister's documents, so, it's useless.

Other Thoughts: If you managed to slog through my above essay, congrats.

In short: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it's cheap. Yes, it has a TON of storage space for a flash drive. Yes, it's supposedly very fast. But if you can't use it, what's the point?

2 out of 5 eggsDead now

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: Big capacity. Fairly fast

Cons: Died. Now I get errors and it won't work properly. Just decided to stop after 6 months. Bummer!!! Lots of money to just have go away. Better off purchasing several cheaper and smaller capacity....have yet to see a cheaper model die.

1 out of 5 eggsLost data, drive not recognized

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: When working speeds are great

Cons: About a little after a month of purchase the drive stopped being recognized and all the data was lost on the drive.

Other Thoughts: Like other reviews, skip this model.

1 out of 5 eggsIt died like the others

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: It was very fast when it worked

Cons: From the beginning it would occasionally give me a message that it wasn't recognized. Usually unplugging and plugging back in fixed. Now it won't work at all. Tried different ports and different machines.

Other Thoughts: For the money I would have expected a quality product but it seems like the others who've provided feedback that this product is lacking in this category.

1 out of 5 eggswent dead after 5 months

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: Had problems on and off since the beginning, didnt use much, flimsy construction, rubber floats loosely on the plastic case, end cap is very small and no attachment to key, awful product overall and this is the good side

Cons: went dead after 20 times using it!!!!

Other Thoughts: should have gone with kingston
