5 out of 5 eggsMy Own Stupidity

Pros: Well it's an SSD, so it's super fast. Comes with a nice metal bracket to fit a regular HDD bay drive.

Cons: For such a small item it sure does come in a huge box from the New Jersey depot.

Other Thoughts: Don't do what I did and RMA the SSD back because it's causing your computer to crash and every open window to read "Not Responding"...check to make sure your BIOS is set to have to the SATA controller as AHSI not IDE!

1 out of 5 eggsWorst SSD ever

Pros: The box looked nice?

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: I bought this wanting a SSD that I could use for a boot drive. When I received this I left it in the box cause I didnt want to reinstall windows cause I was waiting for Windows 8. Now that I have installed windows 8 on this drive, it runs real slow and has random times where it will freeze anywhere from a couple seconds to a minute. This is honestly the worst product I have ever purchased. Hopefully I can still return it...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Noodlescoop,

We're sorry that your drive isn't performing well, please contact our Tech Support at 800-205-7657 so we can take a look at this issue in detail.

Thank you,
Corsair customer Support

3 out of 5 eggsOver Rated SSD

Pros: None

Cons: Over rated SSD I got took buying 2 of them!
The first one installing new Win7 starts normal then Win7 keeps slowing down to a stop. After tring it on another computer same thing, I installed Linux and the same thing, Now I am sending it RMA.
The second SSD worked OK but way over rated read rate Max 414 MBs, Aver 413 MBs, Min 408 MBs.

Other Thoughts: I have used 12 SSD SATA6 of different makes and they all run faster than the Neutron SSD's I think its the new controller LAMD the Sanforce is much faster.

1 out of 5 eggsDead

Pros: Its was Fast

Cons: Its Dead Jim.

Other Thoughts: It lasted 25 days without problems. It started with random crashes, shut it down last night and it didn't load start this morning. System sees drive but it looks to be unreadable.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry that you're having issues with our Neutron SSD, please fill out an RMA request at http://www.corsair.com/en/support/ and we would be happy to replace the drive for you.

Thank you,

5 out of 5 eggsUpgrade

Pros: Extremely fast compared to my old 7200RPM.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I didn't do my research on how to install the SSD before I bought this, which was my fault. When you do a fresh install of an O.S. (in my case, Windows 7 professional), make sure in bios, I think under interface, it is set to AHCI (advanced host controller inferface). Otherwise it will be lock up/stutter/freeze/be super slow. Also, there are some other tricks to let the SSD run unabated, such as TRIM, turning off defragmentation, turning off Windows backup, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns great

Pros: Just switched my OS over to this drive. Boot times and game loading times are pretty fast. I'd say well under 30 seconds for boot. Games load quickly as well.

Quick and easy no hassle install. Has been running smoothly with no problems thus far.

Cons: No problems thus far.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns great

Pros: Easy installation, Currently using as my OS drive now.
Booting time and game loading times are pretty quick. I'd say under 30 seconds.

Has been running stable since I installed it. No complaints thus far. Even then, it comes with a 5 year warranty which is a big plus.

Cons: So far I do not have any "cons". The SSD has been running great since install.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite happy

Pros: Combined this with the system below. As a boot drive with the extra space reserved for the most common games I play this beast is a thing of beauty. Quiet and fast. This is my first foray into SSD's as I've been too broke to upgrade for the last 4 years or so; however, I'm loving this adventure into SSD's. This was a hassle free experience that I'd recommend to anyone needing a solid high-performing OS drive.

Cons: Not big enough for the price. But that's a con to all SSD's atm. I won't be happy till they are at least as cheap as platter based hard drives. That said, it's not a con that you can't see. If you are looking this hard for a con, then you just *want* there to be problems. :-)

Other Thoughts: I put this with the following:
Corsair Vengence 16GB (2X8GB)
Intel i7-3770K
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H (LGA 1155)
EVGA nVidia 670 GTX 2GB

I play EVE and GW2 (mostly) and coming from a Core 2 Quad 2.5 GHz (with 8GB of RAM and a nVidia 9800 GT) I saw amazing performance differences.

GW2 over tripled it's FPS (even with higher video settings) while EVE's CQ actually work for me now (at 60+ fps).

5 out of 5 eggsSSD with new generation controller

Pros: Fast- 208 MB/s write and 500 MB/s read in multiple benchmarking utilities which means quick loading times in games and boot times that are under 25 seconds.

New generation controller- the controller on my other SSD from another company has been known to have stability and longevity issues, so I wanted something that I could feel safer having my OS drive on. The new LAMD controller used in this SSD gives you that stability.

Warranty- 5 years.

Install- plug it in and install your OS/programs. I use it as my OS drive for fast boots and put a few of my most used programs on it.

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: This drive will provide you with the reliability you want with the new LAMD controller while delivering the speed you expect from a SSD.
