As Corsair’s flagship line of SSDs, Neutron Series GTX delivers extreme performance and is designed for high-end PCs. LAMD controller delivers not only blazing fast sequential read/write speed for fast files (regardless of file type). The performance can be pushed to limit with SATA 3 6Gb/s interface. With 2.5” standard form factor and only 7” height, they can fit any systems which support 2.5” drive. The 2.5” to 3.5” adapter also offers compatibility with desktop PCs.

  • newegg Serious Real-World Performance The LAMD controller is designed to deliver both super-high IOPs — important for data-intensive tasks like video and image editing — as well as superior sequential read speeds for lighting fast file access. Neutron series GTX’s real-world performance design focus means impressive file loading times even with non-compressible data.
  • newegg Install it almost anywhere Neutron Series GTX SSDs follow the universal 2.5” standard to snap into place on most notebooks. They are just 7mm high so they can install even in many of the latest slim designs that have additional space restrictions. An adapter is included for wide desktop PC support.
  • newegg Built for SATA 3 6Gb/s Neutron Series GTX is designed to support the latest high-speed standard to get the most performance out of the latest PCs. It’s also fully backward compatible with SATA 2.
  • newegg Maintains its Performance Over Time Neutron Series SSDs support the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg SSD benefits-reliability, cool, quiet, with low power consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives for extreme reliability. No noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC. It can also save battery life on notebooks.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk.... Total Junk.... DO NOT BUY

Pros: None

Cons: Took over an hour of playing with my device manager to get this to even be recognized. Showed up for 5 minutes and then the it simply shut off and started messing with my computer. BTW corsair's software to go along with it is absolutely horrendous.... Just go with Samsung guys... Just do it.

2 out of 5 eggsfast and not

Pros: This drive has bursts of speed followed by excessive lag. Windows 7 installed in less 30 minutes and the boot up process is as fast as expected but then it lags.

Cons: This drive doesn't perform as expected, in fact the overall performance of this drive is worse than the original hdd I had in laptop. Speed comes in bursts. I would not purchase this drive again.

Other Thoughts: I am returning this drive. The performance problems with the drive are too great.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: I have a Dell Precision laptop I wanted to dual boot. I needed a SSD drive on budget, hence why bought I refurbished drive.

My situation is unique. I didn't want both Linux and Windows on the 120 GB SSD, and I didn't want to run Linux on the internal spinning drive since it's my primary OS.

I bought a hard drive caddy that fits in the cd/dvd bay. This is where I installed the ssd. When I set up the dual boot and installed Linux, I put the master boot record on the ssd. If I take the caddy out to use the cd/dvd tray with windows, then windows still boots.

With this configuration, it has worked very well for the last year with no failures. I haven't done any benchmarks to compare it to my Samsung 840.

I would buy another refurbished corsair SSD.

Cons: not samsung

1 out of 5 eggsFast while it worked.

Pros: Worked well and had fast benchmark results when installed.

Cons: Developed a bad sector within a month. Ran a thorough chkdsk and it worked well for another month. Then.. "no boot drive detected."

4 out of 5 eggsGood SSD

Pros: Very fast--I ran a benchmark, and it came up at 450MB/s read, 350MB/s write. While this is not cutting edge performance, it is recertified, and I got it for about $50, so it was a pleasant surprise for me. The random read/write scores were also very good. Boot time into Windows 7 is about 25-35 seconds, which is wonderful.
As it is an SSD, it is also very durable, which is nice. I'm no longer worried about killing my boot disk when I move my pc around.

Cons: I cannot create a system image of this disk using the windows utility, I am not sure whether this is the fault of Windows or the SSD, but it is worth noting.
I also ran a S.M.A.R.T. analysis, and the raw error read rate has a "current value" of 166, which is weird, and a blank field for its "raw value", which is weirder, but I have not had a problem with it yet. This is probably the reason the last owner had it recertified.

Other Thoughts: The only issue I've had yet is with making a system image, but that the S.M.A.R.T. numbers were worrying enough to take off an egg.
When I got this, I was worried about filling the drive very quickly, but I still have 70GB free on it because I haven't put many games on it.
Overall, I am very happy with it.

2 out of 5 eggsproblems

Pros: Fast when it works

Cons: I bought this refurbished and I did not have the time to install it right away. Finally installed it and I noticed a significant lag after about 5 or so commands. Tried updating the firmware but it failed in the Corsair app every time.

Other Thoughts: I should have installed it sooner because the 30 day warranty had just expired by the time I got around to finding a problem.
