The Corsair 25nm-based Force Series SSD product line (model numbers that end in "-A") offers the maximum performance for your ultimate system with a maximum read speed of up to 280MB/s and a maximum write speed of up to 270MB/s. Based on the SandForce controller and next-generation 25nm IC technology, the Corsair Force Series SSDs are the ultimate performance drive for your demanding storage requirements. Your system will start up faster, applications and games will load quicker, and you will see a huge improvement in overall system responsiveness. If speed is what you are looking for and what you expect from your performance or gaming system, the Corsair Force Series SSDs are the perfect choice.

  • newegg SSD STORAGE TECHNOLOGY Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSDs translate to an extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg BETTER PERFORMANCE Built with MLC NAND flash and the latest generation SandForce controller, the Corsair Force Series F80A delivers world-class SSD reliability, performance, and power efficiency, with a maximum sequential read speed of 280 MB/s and a maximum sequential write speed of 270 MB/s, plus an incredible random 4K write performance of 50,000 IOPS (4K aligned).
  • newegg TRIM SUPPORT The Corsair Force Series SSDs offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: none

Cons: the drive was not detected the first time I installed it
it was detected by the bios only 30% of the times
I was able to write on it once then it went undetectable again
this refurbishing process is obviously NOT well tested

5 out of 5 eggsNothing wrong with refurbs

Pros: Speedy enough for my purposes.

Cons: No issues to speak of yet.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased about 40 of these to replace HDDs in a number of older PC, even as old as Pentium D. These things have added new life to these machines and are great where powerhouse machines aren't required in my shop (i.e. word processing/spreadsheets, remote desktop, web surfing).

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sorry, NONE

Cons: Great Idea just didn't work. I wouldn't recommend this one to anybody. Guess this is what happens when you try and cut a few corners and save a few $$$

Other Thoughts: Pay the xtra $$$ and get a proven drive.

2 out of 5 eggsNot that great.....

Pros: It's very fast and easy to install... not that any SSD is hard to install. It was packaged very well. It took only about 1/2 hr to install Windows 7 and it boots in less than 10 seconds.

Cons: It only works some of the time. This morning, for the second time, I had to reinstall windows 7 because the drive was EMPTY!! Luckily, I always back up my stuff when I get a new hard drive just in case. It's working at the moment but who knows how long that will last.

Other Thoughts: For the price, it would be a steal if I wasn't having so many problems.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Reads very quickly. Boots to windows in 15 seconds on a fresh install. Write speed is much lower than the claimed 270/mbs although it is noticeably faster than a standard spindle drive.

Cons: My primary pc had trouble detecting this drive. It worked intermittently but upon reboot it would not be detected in bios until I did a full shut down, waited a few seconds then powered on again. (randomly worked this way) Then of course it had lost it's place in BIOS (2007:No AHCI) making it useless as an OS disk in a multi disk environment as going back into BIOS to set it as primary boot hdd would then require another reboot in which it may or may not have been detected.

My secondary computer (2009:Has AHCI) has had no issues detecting it at all so I've ended up keeping it in that one. It seems some motherboards may have trouble detecting it. May be related to the board/bios rather then the drive but at this point I am unsure.
