  • newegg Real-World Performance The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music-, movie-, or graphics files. Starting up your PC, launching applications, loading and saving large files and documents – and just about everything else you do with your PC – is faster when you remove the bottleneck of old-fashioned hard drives.
  • newegg SATA III Interface The Force Series GT SSD features aSATA III interface, which is also backward-compatible with SATA II. Adding a Force Series GT today means that you'll still get incredible storage performance now, and you'll tap into its full performance potential with your next upgrade.
  • newegg TRIM Support The Force Series GT SSD features support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows it to store only the data it needs, and perform memory optimization, to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.

3 out of 5 eggsFast but finicky

Pros: Having upgraded from a 7200rpm hard drive, this ssd feels extremely fast. It's also much smaller, lighter, and consumers less power.

Cons: I've had some issues with the drive hanging for brief periods and (sometimes) eventually causing windows to freeze. This problem happened with increasing frequency over my first week of ownership despite my efforts to troubleshoot.

After searching for a solution for quite a while online, updating the drivers, switching SATA ports/cables and all manner of other things I decided to try and switch from AHCI to IDE mode in my motherboard. It's possible to do this even after installing windows as detailed here:

This has alleviated the problem. Though the read and write speeds are now slower according to the testing program I've installed it no longer hangs or causes windows to freeze.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this drive on sale for $50 expecting a drastic increase in the speed of my aging AM3 based desktop. Despite requiring a fair amount of fiddling to achieve stability and having to run in the slower IDE mode this is exactly what I've gotten. Hopefully it will work reliably going forward.

1 out of 5 eggsNope

Pros: Its worked for a bit....

Cons: Started boot - looping after roughly a week of use. Updated the firmware but to no avail.

Other Thoughts: Get the Samsung 120gb SSD instead. It's only $5 more and has 800 5 egg reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Just like the original. The read/write speeds are astounding. Win 7 boots literally under 8 seconds from power button to desktop fully loaded.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Frankly, the money you save is simply because 'refurbished' has a bad rep. However, this drive has been refurbished' by corsair itself. It's definitely worth the risk to buy these refurbished drives.

5 out of 5 eggsWow this thing is fast

Pros: This thing is fast.. i was a little worried about it being a refurb, but it's like brand new. You'll do well if you get one and you won't be disappointed.

Cons: I should have gotten the 240Gig. While I still have about 75 gigs of free space after a full ubuntu 13.10 load, it would be nice not to worry about space when downloading things. Other than that, it's amazing.

5 out of 5 eggswas scared about refurb but it was worth it

Pros: I bought it to put into raid with another force gt 120. this one was a 7mm . I plugged it in it worked like a charm went right into raid

Cons: honestly the only thing I can think of is it didn't come with a 3.5 adaptor or screws but most cases don't need them

Other Thoughts: I was a little scared to buy a refurbished ...I've had bad luck with hdd refurbs ....but I guess ssd''s are different...cause I checked out the reviews and none of them were negative so I took the leap and it was worth it

1 out of 5 eggsFollow Up

Pros: Looked great in my case and they were fast when they worked..

Cons: Yup... one of em died and the other is now blue screening like a champ...

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 of these to run in RAID0. They ran for a month... that was that.

Should have known better than to buy refurbs trying to get as much as I could for a $3000+ x79 build.

Also had a NEW OCZ 1000w power supply die... and a Swiftech AIO water cooler die on the new rig too.

I have to say that this is the first time I have EVER in 15 years of building had this many duds from one retailer on a single build, yet I stay loyal...

I have been buying from Newegg for over 10 years through my business for personal and this is very disappointing.

Actually at this point I'm fairly enraged by all the wasted time... we are talking almost 100 man hours in build time, for troubleshooting, repairs, phone calls from vendors asking me up change my reviews if they take care of me. Not to mention the waiting on replacements and I'm just stupid enough to purchase something new so I don't have to wait and just sell the refurb I get from the manufacturer.

Newegg is too big to care anymore so we are dumped off to the manufacturer.

Hopefully Corsair will make a quicker turnaround for me this time on these drives since I now have their DomiGT, 650D, K70, H100 (should have stayed with that), these broken refurbs and a V2000 7.1 wireless headset.

It's not like I didn't try to get the best... :\

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Refurbs

Pros: Red... working after a month... fast in RAID 0... Price of course...

Cons: Refurbished labeling all over em. Just makes the case a little less attractive. But I know it makes sense for Corsair to do this... just wish they could be a little more discrete about it.

Other Thoughts: Love these drives. I didn't want to pay for them when they were released, so these worked out great. Might grab a few more, but I don;t want to push my luck with refurbs to far... ;)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: It says refurbished but feels like new. No problems at all and super fast drive for way less than normal price. I had an older Mushkin 60gb ssd I upgraded from that had a WEI experience rating of 6.9. This Corsair now maxes out the WEI at 7.9 so I'm very happy with it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great buy!

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Force GT

Pros: Excellent price on a very fast SSD. Maxxes out my SATA II-bus laptop no problem (thinkpad T410). Drive had 100% life and only about 40 GB total lifetime writes [from SMART data], and that was *after* I had installed Win7 and a bunch of utilities on it. So I essentially got a brand new drive. Very cool.

Cons: Refurb packaging is very spartan, and I didn't get the 3.5" adapter or anything but the drive. But I expected that ;).

Other Thoughts: There really is no comparison to the speed boost going to an SSD from a hard drive. Using other computers than my laptop, even brand new fancy Xeon desktops, can feel inexcusably slow at times, if they have hard drives in them. And you can feel it just navigating around the OS and opening small programs. As well as of course booting up!

5 out of 5 eggsBlazing Fast

Pros: Awesome value (purchased refurb). One of the fastest drives on the market, this is the cream of the crop in the Corsair Force lineup.

Drive was detected immediately after its installation, and OS installation and such went without any hiccups. Highly recommended.

Cons: None whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: Neat color for an SSD drive. Not much else to say about this other than the price can't be beat. Cost is always a big concern for me, and because I don't need the absolute fastest hardware out there, I usually compromise with value-oriented drives. In this case, there's no compromise, you get the speed and performance of high end hardware at budget prices. Excellent deal, thank you Newegg.
