Corsair Nova Series SSD drives provide the performance and benefits of a solid-state drive at an attractive price. Their lower capacities make them ideal for use as boot drives, working in tandem with a second hard drive for file storage.

  • newegg The price that's right With solid-state drive, your system boots faster and applications and large files load more quickly, so you can spend less time waiting and more time working... or playing. Nova Series 2 gives you more SSD boot drive capacity for your money. SSD upgrades shouldn't be reserved just for high-end systems. Virtually any PC's performance can be dramatically improved with an SSD boot drive, and the economical Nova Series 2 helps make that possible.
  • newegg TRIM Support Nova Series 2 SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows for efficient drive optimization to ensure the fastest possible read and write speeds.
  • newegg SSD Benefits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.

1 out of 5 eggsworst investment ever.

Pros: its a step up from a hdd but still slow as snails compared to most ssd's.
its cheap.

Cons: it failed 6 months in. froze up completly, wont boot, wont allow wipe, without linux wont allow any access at all. i had to use advanced linux recovery tools just to recover my music and pics.
slow, slow, slow.
corsairs customer support was rude and unhelpful.
newegg simply dosnt care as it is out of the 30 day warranty.

Other Thoughts: check about this drive and its firmware/controller online before you buy. your buying a loaded shotgun that will stay pointed at your foot.
its worth the extra money to purchase a better drive and not a corsair since they dont support the drives they sell, only replace them if they arnt refurbed.

5 out of 5 eggsI love SSD

Pros: Works great. Windows 10 boots up faster than my monitor. Used it on a budget / refurbish build for my girl friend. I use it more than my high end gaming computer.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsDead in less than 3 Months

Pros: Was an upgrade for older computer and was fast boot up when it was alive.

Cons: Failed in less than 3 months. No support whatsoever after 30 days.

Other Thoughts: Will never buy anything that is refurbished again. Got me on a Flash sale (impulse buy) and never had any issues with any Corsair product until this. (my water cooler died same month, but it was 3 years old.)

1 out of 5 eggsVery Slow - Very poor performance

Pros: None - this SSD is slower then a SATA I mechanical HDD drive.

Cons: I installed in customer's laptop and did a fresh in stall of W7pro 64 bit from a legal MS disc. - install took 2 to 4 times longer then I expected. Once install was done, I found that it took minutes to boot (most SSD's will boot in 15 seconds). Everything operated like I was back in IDE. I double checked all BIOS settings to make sure I wasn't overlooking the AHCI settings and found that yes, I was properly setup. I enabled TRIM and made sure defrag and hibernation were off. Forget multi tasking with these drives - open more then one window and your cursor will just sit there.

Other Thoughts: I bought this from Newegg off their Xbay store and yes I did read the bad reviews prior to purchasing, but the 34.99 price tag was too hard to refuse. So, I bought two. Am waiting for RMA from Newegg now. I'll never buy another Corsair SSD. Do yourself a big favor and pass on this one.

4 out of 5 eggsIs a SSD

Pros: This is a 60Gb SSD, It works, shipping was average speed.

Cons: It didnt come with a mounting bracket or really any documentation. I mean I didnt fully expect a box or manual, and you dont need them to use it, But I didn't account for not getting a mounting bracket. So until I purchase one Its just sitting on the bottom of my case. maybe I should account for these things more when buying refurb.

Other Thoughts: Its really no big deal. it works. Ill buy a bracket sooner or later, or maybe not. doesn't really matter.

1 out of 5 eggsthe worst refurbished item ever

Pros: cheap

Cons: We purchased 10 because they were so inexpensive. I started formatting them right away and 3 of the 10 were DOA. Seems high percentage even for refurbished and should've been a warning signal for us but I figured it was a fluke so instead of returning all 10 we instead RMA'd the 3 DOAs. Well, just over a month later 3 more failed (one of the 3 RMA'd was in this group). The remaining SSDs are still in the box and have not been installed yet so I don't know if they're still working. We cannot RMA any of these SSDs since it's been over the 30 days allowed for refurbished items but I think newegg should reconsider their policy specially for SSDs which are not known to fail this early.

Other Thoughts: This experience have made us do all of our future purchases elsewhere and not from newegg.com.

4 out of 5 eggsOK so far

Pros: Cheap, light and fairly fast

Cons: Just a bit small for my needs, Didn't come with screws or a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter

Other Thoughts: Bought one for the HTPC to replace an old 160GB mechanical drive. This took my disk image perfectly and booted right up. Only used it for about 5 hours over two days but it is working just fine so far. It will get a workout this weekend and I'll update the review if anything changes.
