Corsair Nova Series SSD drives provide the performance and benefits of a solid-state drive at an attractive price. Their lower capacities make them ideal for use as boot drives, working in tandem with a second hard drive for file storage.

  • newegg The price that's right With solid-state drive, your system boots faster and applications and large files load more quickly, so you can spend less time waiting and more time working... or playing. Nova Series 2 gives you more SSD boot drive capacity for your money. SSD upgrades shouldn't be reserved just for high-end systems. Virtually any PC's performance can be dramatically improved with an SSD boot drive, and the economical Nova Series 2 helps make that possible.
  • newegg TRIM Support Nova Series 2 SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows for efficient drive optimization to ensure the fastest possible read and write speeds.
  • newegg SSD Benefits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.

4 out of 5 eggsOK so far

Pros: Cheap, light and fairly fast

Cons: Just a bit small for my needs, Didn't come with screws or a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter

Other Thoughts: Bought one for the HTPC to replace an old 160GB mechanical drive. This took my disk image perfectly and booted right up. Only used it for about 5 hours over two days but it is working just fine so far. It will get a workout this weekend and I'll update the review if anything changes.

1 out of 5 eggsWorse purchase I ever made at Newegg.

Pros: None

Cons: Speed is slower than my old Ide and it laggs when multi-tasking. I probably got defective item but ran out return date.

1 out of 5 eggsTroublesome Refurbished SSD

Pros: Decent speed when worked, make computer more responsive.

Cons: Corrupted sectors, files, index, etc. After each Windows update, I get problems. It is as though these SSDs are at end of their lifes and cannot be read or write reliably.

Other Thoughts: Bought 3 refurbished V60GB2 Corsair SSD to be used as Windows 7 boot drive on 2 laptop and 1 desk top. All three have SATA I controllers. Desktop one corrupted after 1 month. I tried everything but still have problems here and there so my desk top is out for weeks. The two in laptops (which I use only a few hours per month) still have problems but bootable for now. I am not going to buy refurbished SSD drives anymore. I have a Neutron Corsair SSD and that has been working for the last 3 months without issues with about 6 to 10 GB write a day. I check the Corsair SSD Tool once every 2 days on the Neutron drive for usage, wear and tear. But Corsair SSD Tool does not work on these Corsair V60GB2 drives. The 1 PNY, 2 Intel, 1 Corsair Neutron, 1 Seagate SSDs I have perform as expected and make my computers zippier. These 3 Corsair refurbished drives cause me so much troubles and pain.

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID AT ALL COSTS

Pros: CHEAP - But not worth it

Cons: The controller in this SSD was only used for a few drives as all manufacturers quickly realized it was not stable enough for OS Drive use. This drive will perform horribly as an OS drive. Significantly slower and more inconsistent than some of the worst mechanical HDDS ive ever tested. There is a reason it is so cheap and nobody uses that controller any more.

Other Thoughts: Avoid. Though the price is good the drive could only function AT BEST as a durable secondary drive when speed is not needed. It is not capable to function as an Operating system disk drive.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing Junk

Pros: Price

Cons: Longevity

Other Thoughts: Bought a handful of these in April 2013 to have around. Used a couple of them right away. Others just stayed in their unsealed box. Very poor performance from the start. All of them now are dead. Of all the laptops and computers I have around none of them are recognized as internal or even through an external dock. Very disappointed.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after 3 months.

Pros: It's small

Cons: Had tons of drive controller issues and actually made my system slower with it in.

Other Thoughts: Not really a great drive. Lack of support from the manufacturer as well.

I had emailed them and they would not respond.

1 out of 5 eggscan i get a new one?

Pros: All I have is a clean OS, haven't done anything yet, no Pro's

Cons: After installing win 7x64, the disk IO is running at 99-100% for anything I do, running windows update and I am not able to do anything, this is a clean OS, haven't done anything, board is SATA 3, shouldn't have any issues at all.

Other Thoughts: Can you ship me a new one please? Unacceptable ---

1 out of 5 eggsdied witn 48 hours

Pros: it installed the os fine...

Cons: but then it died the next day.
fails all writes.
s.m.a.r.t says it has already reached the limit of reserved blocks, so its pretty much a doorstop at this point.

Other Thoughts: going to make sure I check s.m.a.r.t values from a flash stick before I bother installing on a refurb, thats for sure.

5 out of 5 eggsBargain speed!

Pros: Low price, fast, works perfectly!

Cons: Not much storage

Other Thoughts: I have a laptop at work that only had a 60GB hard drive in it and I wanted to increase the speed. Since 60GB was already plenty for what I had to do, I didn't bother looking for anything larger. Also, I was really looking for an inexpensive product so this fit the bill perfectly! Even on an older interface that this drive clearly maxes out, it's much faster than a 5400RPM mechanical drive and I'm very satisfied with the performance gain.
