4 out of 5 eggsWorks like it should

Pros: My rig won't work without it.

Cons: I paid for 2 day air shipping. It only took 5 days to get to my door.
Ya think newegg will refund me? I won't hold my breath waiting.

Other Thoughts: Ram hold up well OC. Temps stays down nicely. Look nice also on my new Asus Mark 1

5 out of 5 eggsRam!

Pros: It is Ram. I had to change some settings in my ASUS Z97-A LGA motherborad so that it runs at 1833, but so far so good.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I plan on overclocking this ram and have not yet, but so far it is working wonderfully.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory! 1866MHz!

Pros: Was easy to set up to 1866MHz by enabling XMP in BIOS just like it should be and as advertized. Memory has been working perfectly since April 2014. XMP adjusted the timings too! Flawless.

Cons: Was not free.

Other Thoughts: Will definitely buy Corsair memory again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM! -- But check your timings!

Pros: The ram is plenty quick and does as advertised. Usually on sale at a good price too. But make sure you do your homework on the timing speeds that your particular motherboard can run @ what mHz! you won't be able to get all the speed you could without it.

Cons: So far the only thing I had to deal with is an issue unique to my particular motherboard, an GFX-990UD3, which limits the 16gb ram to a max of 1600 mHz in one channel. The ram is never slow regardless though, even when it dipped down to 995 mHz once or twice. Intermittent at best.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Upgrade

Pros: Fast Memory
Simple to install
Worked instantly

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this memory to enhance an HDD to SSD upgrade in my Dell Studio XPS 435t / 9000 stock tower. The SSD made a huge difference but adding the memory a week later boosted speed and overall performance beyond my expectations.

I slapped the CORSAIR Vengeance DIMMS into the first matched slots and they worked well immediately.

FYI...The Studio XPS the DIMM slots are matched in two sets of three so I the third matched slot (physical slot 5) had to be left empty. But I was able to leave three original DIMMS in the second three matched slots (2, 4, 6) which run at 1066 vs: the Corsair 1866. Now well over 100 hours running with 22Gb memory and no problems. I may still move the old memory to another system as I don't really need it in the XPS but it isn't causing any problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: This RAM is blazing fast, worked great right out of the box in my new motherboard. Frequency was correct in the BIOS and works flawless.

Cons: None so far, everything is great.

Other Thoughts: I accidentally posted a review on this RAM earlier meant for a Samsung SSD. Oops!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive all issues aside

Pros: Samsung has the best SSD's out there, even given the latest discovery about the EVO series. I have not noticed any issues to date; but I know that the upcoming firmware update will fix any issues others might have.

I would say at this time - 10/12/2014 - that I would hold off purchasing the EVO series until Samsung issues a fix, but honestly the drive is great regardless. I think that a dent in sales for a few months might ensure the fix is delivered smoothly, but all in all Samsung is the way to go.

Cons: None yet. The performance issue that you can read about on pretty much any tech forum has not been an issue for me, but test data proves that it is real. Buy with caution at this time, simply because it is a known issue. Would you really buy any other product that had a known issue? Again I have to recommend holding off until the firmware fix.

Other Thoughts: Nothing against Samsung, just please get the firmware update out there so we can buy with confidence again. If you want to stay with Samsung, spend the extra 50 and get a 256 Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance value

Pros: Easy installation, works great, can use for overclocking

Cons: The memory is a bit tall, but it still fit under my large air cooler.

Other Thoughts: I have had this a bit over a year and have had no problems with it.

1 out of 5 eggsPackaging Taboos

Pros: Wouldn't know thanks to godawful packaging choice.

Cons: The last time I handled a shipping envelope flimsier than this it had come directly from Hong Kong. Already swore off patronizing this site because of extremely poor packaging but against my better judgement tried again.

Despite the Product Review Guidlines, this is not a criticism of anyone's service, this is a criticism of newegg's packaged product. Poor packaging has no effect on service, but instead the final quality of the product when it gets to your door. Shipping two sticks of ram in shelf display packaging enclosed in a flimsy mailing envelope is a good way to RUIN your ram. The product packaging was bent bad enough to where I wouldn't even open it to inspect the sticks. For the record I used to have to classify a good chunk of the packaging related patents applied for the US so I have spent days of my life reading about packaging considerations...there were none here.

BEWARE: what good is a state of the art electronic component if it shows up in pieces?!?!

Other Thoughts: If you are ordering more than just the ram you may get a box and be fine, if just ordering the sticks you have officially been warned

5 out of 5 eggsCORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R (Red)

Pros: Somewhat of a mid-profile RAM set. In between low and high in height.
Clean, sleek look.
Matches red/black color scheme perfectly.
Price is pretty good.
Corsair makes great products.

Cons: "Sleeves" that go on top of the heat sinks slide off. Not exactly a problem, but figured I'd throw it in the cons.
