5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Vengeance Pro 32GB DDR3 2133

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 Desktop Memory Model CMY32GX3M4A2133C11 (Silver)

Pros: Having read all the reviews (3) of this ram, I must say that I disagree. I have an ASUS M5A97LE 2.0 mobo and an AMD FX6100 cpu. This ram was given to me a little over 8 months ago and I have been using it ever since. I must also admit that in addition to running SETI for 24 hours a day for the last year, I also play World of Warcraft on a daily basis. So, for over 240 days, 24 hours a day, I have not had a single problem with this ram and I would recommend it to anyone that asked. I must confess, since it was a gift, I was not fortunate at first in checking the compatibility (QVL) list of my motherboard. Of course, the ram was not on the list but since it was a gift, I couldn't say much. Just suffice it to say, it works great.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The ram is currently running at 1800 and not the 2133, but that is my fault (sort of) because it was a gift how could I complain. And it is 32 gigs and I have an 8 gig ramdrive (AMD Ramdisk software) that I use as my unzip folder. I would recommend this ram to anyone and everyone. For your own protection, check your motherboards ram compatibility list to be sure.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Sure What Happened

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 Desktop Memory Model CMY32GX3M4A2133C11 (Silver)

Pros: It looks pretty.

Cons: I am not sure, but I believe this is the reason for my system failure. Was not on QVL (my mistake). However, Don't know that is on anyone's QVL.

Other Thoughts: I will pay closer attention next time....

2 out of 5 eggsUnstable

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 Desktop Memory Model CMY32GX3M4A2133C11 (Silver)

Pros: Honestly, Can't think of any

Cons: Since day 1 the memory has been unstable at 2133mhz rating no matter what I do with voltages or timings. XMP profile also unstable. To stabilize memory I had to clock at 1866 but I found even at 1866 it could still sporadically general protection fault crash from time to time so now I'm running it at 1600mhz. It crashes even less at 1600mhz, maybe once a week, but it STILL crashes.
+IO Agent and analog/digital voltage tweaks, running off profile, custom timings and running slow, all just to get memory to not crash AS MUCH.

This is on a GA-Z87X-OC Force LGA 1150 Intel Z87 with latest firmware (F8, although F7 had same problems) and an intel 4770k processor. Upon doing more research, this specifically memory isn't listed on the motherboards compat sheet, so the oversight is probably mine. None the less, Looking around, this memory isn't on anyones compat sheet. In fact, corsair even sells different 32gig kit at 2133 that is on sheet. So what's up with this model that doesn't run?

Other Thoughts: Ordered some G.skill as the reviews are far more encouraging and I've seen how good their support is.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Memory - Just NOT For The RIVBE

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 Desktop Memory Model CMY32GX3M4A2133C11 (Silver)

Pros: 32GB at 2133MHz.... what's not to like!

Cons: Sadly this memory does not seem to play nicely with the new ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition Motherboard.

These Vengeance Pro's were completely unstable (at stock CPU speed and XMP values) Lowering the memory speed or increasing the voltage did not help.

A set of 2400MHz Dominator Platinum's I have worked better - I could get these to run stable at least sometimes depending on BIOS configuration.

But it's a set of 2133MHz (32GB) G-Skill Ripjaws (8x4GB) that seem to be running flawlessly with this motherboard!
I

Other Thoughts: I like the look of the Vengeance Pro's and don't hold anything against them. I suspect my problems running them in the RIVBE is to do with the fact that board is new and has an immature BIOS. The RIVE had similar problems with Corsair memory back when it was new as well.

I have ordered a 4x8GB (32GB) set of G-Skill Trident X to try out. I've heard good things about this memory, so we'll see...
