3 out of 5 eggsDurable but WAY OVERPRICED

This review is from: CORSAIR Survivor Stealth 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFSS3-128GB

Pros: Very fast and durable

Cons: This thing is HUGE

Other Thoughts: I have a 32gb version of this which is still going strong for over a year and a half. I would purchase this 128gb version but the price is WAY too high. Corsair is trying to make a 600% profit on this which is ridiculous. Lower the price down to respectable levels and I'll buy a few.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after several weeks of light use

This review is from: CORSAIR Survivor Stealth 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFSS3-128GB

Pros: Color

Cons: Died after 12 weeks, lost some important client data, not enough time to backup them...
I had a Corsair Voyager GT that has been exchanged 4 times in a year by Corsair due to 4 failures after several weeks too.
I hoped that the new Survivor series would be more reliable for the price, this is not the case, this brand is banned for life for me, my company and for my customers.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that after 30 days you'll have to deal with Corsair directly and you'll have to send back the defective(s) item(s) to California, USA at your expenses.
Really pleasant when you live in the East coast of Canada, 4 returns = more than 40$, just save a little and buy another flash drive from another brand.
By the way, nothing has been proposed to me after all these problems and of course no excuses... it may be different here since everyone can read this, they might do something like "Dear customer, we apologize for..."

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

This review is from: CORSAIR Survivor Stealth 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFSS3-128GB

Pros: Looks good?

Cons: After 3 days the threads would not catch. The lid can be just pulled off. It's hardly staying on. I'm kind of a corsair fanboy but pretty disappointed on this experience. There's plenty of good reviews so I'm in the RMA process and hoping this doesn't happen often.

5 out of 5 eggsWoW.

This review is from: CORSAIR Survivor Stealth 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFSS3-128GB

Pros: This is my first USB 3 drive and all I can say is wow. I backed up a Windows system image file at a constant 80mb/s rate. That's incredible considering I'm used to, what, 15?

The other features are cool. The aircraft aluminum feels like grip tape made out of metal. Feels very tough. It could probably roll of the desk and survive (see below.)

Cons: I wouldn't lean too much on the high impact advertising part if that's that you care most about. Although it's obvious you could step on it and the canister would protect well, you'd still have to baby this thing because we all know dropping an electronic device is usually what kills it.

1) The rubber bumpers, if that's what they are, are cheap and would only work to absorb shock if the drive fell horizontal and level.

2) The canister is round. While I confess engineering isn't my strong suit, a drive that advertises shock resistance might be designed not to roll off the desk onto the tile floor. No need to test the claim unnecessarily.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm very satisfied. The drive is fast, holds a lot and feels as though it offers measurable protection against the average accident.
